My message to BMW: Please bring back circular dials all going clockwise like before, even if digital, and PLEASE offer a kill-switch for the fake sound when in Sport or Sport+ mode. Good job on not having any fake vents or fake exhausts, though! LOL! Shower curtain front grille - that was funny!

yeah the only 1series anyone actualy gave a fuck about was the 135i e82/ 1M. any other 1series was boring. if you whant a small sports car you get the 2series bmw. allso in this small package the I4 is allot beter beacus of weight and size. they actualy made the 1seires beter now compared to the old M135i

No they did not screw it. The most sold 1series were 116 and 118. People which are buying that engine doesnt care for rear wheel drive or inline 6 they want a reliable car with low fuel cost. So why build a heavier and more expensive car for people who dont need that? sure maybe not everyone likes the new 135i, but this 1series was not built for the 135i, because almost no one bought it.

Got one of the last M140i's new in March, nearly decided to wait for this M135i, glad I didn't. I like this new car though but it does sound like an appliance, kinda leaf blower meets food blender.

My 2019 Hyundai i30N Performance is 4 weeks old, has GPF filter and complies to all new emissions. It is 4 cylinder 2 litre turbo, and sounds like an absolute thunder going through tunnels. It pops and bangs and screams. Some manufacturers care about making fun cars still, sadly BMW has become a corporate bullshit organisation, and this is coming from a mega BMW fan (I had E92 M3, E46 M3, 2x 335i and an E30 320i).

fun fact car and truck emissions do not actualy polute the earth. yeah i know they tecnicaly do but do you know how little that is? 15 of the largest ships in the world alredy polute more than all cars and trucks togheter. i think its time to kick out the retarded politicians around the world and get people that actualy do diffarance rather than force car manufacturers to try to lower the emissions of somthing that does barely any polution att all. make a law against buying a new phone every year and make it a 3year waiting period before you are allowed to buy the next. that law whould allredy cut down on polution more than any car or truck could ever do

I think BMW was to apologetic with the implementation of the 4 pot in this car, they made it quiet because they knew people wouldn't like the sound compared to the 6 cyl. What they should have done is taken a page from MINI and put an epic stock exhaust on the car that makes the 4 cyl more fun and less serious, the B48 can sound awesome and give a lot more character to the car when given the chance, I know this because I removed the resonators on my 230i and began to enjoy the car a lot more after that.

The problem of these cars is that golf R is doing same thing for better price. And unlike the AMG 35, Golf R actually looks better than... this. And that comes from someone who doesnt like looks of golf that much.

To be honest. For those that say it's FWD, you just shouldn't be car people at all. Firstly it's not completely FWD, it's a "Faked" AWD system where it uses power where it needs it.. Launching off the lights? It will send most power to the rear and not only it does that to prevent wheel spin.. ECO (Saving fuel)? It will use additional power to save the most fuel as possible Track? It will use rear and front for additional grip. Don't like it? Fuck off then :)

BMW is trying to make the 1 and 2 series a completely different type of car and I don’t think that was a good move. Should have kept the car rear wheel drive bias. They didn’t implement front wheel drive that whell so the steering isn’t great in my opinion.

The instability of this car at 200+ just shows you its not meant for the autobahn, its a classic modern twist of a "twisty turny" mountain road car, sadly a dying breed of the modern industry. Despite the hate from BMW fans for the 4 pot engine, this really is a great car to drive 👍

I have a long BMW driving experience and the instability of this car shows to me, that probably also at 150 it can't compete with the F20, which combined the agility from a compact car and driving feel from a 3 series. Therefore I bought this model and I'm upset that they don't followed the old philosophy. If I want to have a fun car for mountain roads I would buy an Alfa Giulietta with 200kg less weight. Whoever drove a BMW E30 will know what I mean.

What do you prefer guys? This BMW M135i or the BMW 330i Sportline, here in Mexico with the same equipment the price is the same $974,000 mexican pesos (around €46,159 euros) I’m in this discussion, the engine is the same (2.0T b48 but in the 330i has 258hp/295lb/ft and in the m135i has 306hp/332lb/ft) the 330i has the RWD and the m135i has the XDrive system, the final point is the assembly, for Mexico the 330i is assembled in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and the M135i is assembled in Leipzig, Germany, i don’t have problems with the assembly plant, the BMW plant in Mexico is the most avanced and modern BMW plant but the first series of cars that are manufactured in a new plant, no only in BMW in all brands the first series of models have certain assembly problems so what is your decision

Wouldn't get that grip on launching the M140i without the rear end kicking out. In comparison with this M135i, the M140i is just pure brutal. Better than the RS3 and the A45 AMG by far but the traction on this M135i is alot more grippier than the M140i. One upside is how easy it is to get in and out of this new shape compared to the old shape, it's too low down for access for my liking.

Hi. Did you find out why the car was unsettled at high speed? The reason I ask is my BMW G30 530i M sport does exactly the same thing once crossing 200km/h it feels like rear suspension is bouncing and need to correct the driving path all the time except on the bend then its fine.

It's a fine car, designed to be sold to the people that want a little performance excellent quality build and finish yet in a practical package. You want a M car fine go buy one, this car isn't supposed to be a M car so why compare it like one

Still waiting on the new 2-series coupe, that will actually be 6 in-line and rear wheel bias. The 3-series is still rear wheel bias, so it’s just the entry level cars that have been nerfed. Mercedes and Audi have been using 4 cylinders in their entry level cars for a while now. BMW couldn’t compete price-wise.

@@BobaShakeMallow Because BMW was always about rear wheel drive cars and driving pleasure, and now they have front wheel drive cars... The old values of the brand, "Sheer driving pleasure", are getting behind... This one, is a all-wheel drive car that most of the time is front wheel drive... I would prefer the old M140i to this one.

Great car but the M140i was more powerful with a bigger and better engine. The B58 engine out does the 4 cylinder M135i in nearly everyway. The only good thing with the 135 is the facelift shape and the interior... but they should of kept the M140i going as by far was thw best 1 series brought out

Love the channel. But ! Sorry to sound objective , but here's the thing, having watched several channel's and reviews of the BMW M135i I am staggered that almost everyone is comparing this car to the old and amazing BMW140i. This is NOT a 140i, this is a new car entirely and please wait until the Next and hopefully soon New BMW 140i to be launched before comparing the old beauty. Keep up the Great Channel 👍🏻

Guys who know about BMW’s will now take the 2 series. Girls who often stick to focus’s and Fiat 500’s now have another option in BMW - and you think there’s going to be a girl comparing specs of old 1 series and this new 1 series? Smart marketing by BMW.

marketing to the minority is not smart. Not many women are buying m-spec bmws to begin with.. Let alone understanding what engine the car has and other.. it's for cost reasons simple, max profit

BMW purposely went to a more family friendly design to compete with the Golf and A class. The previous M140i and M135i although brilliant among enthusiasts, simply did not sell enough. This, combined with new EU emission regulations.

To me this new transverse haldex setup kills the whole point of getting a 1er. I will buy an S3 if I want a FWD biased hot hatch. (but i'm just going to buy a used m135i with RWD)
