There’s a particular reason F1 stopped racing the US Grand Prix here...that diamond-grated racing surface. I highly implore y’all to search the 2005 US GP. Only 6 cars took the grid because of tires exploding non-stop. The rest pulled out because, you know, smacking the wall in an open wheeler is a lot worse than the same impact in a NASCAR stock car and they didn’t want to die on the first lap of the race. That GP was described as “...perhaps the greatest farce ever...” by the commentators. Far, FAR too many tires blowing up. Can any of us imagine entering turns 1 or 3 at 185-190 mph, your right front blows, sending you straight into that wall? Good Lord...put some decent boots on those cars.

Overall, this race is pretty good although I wish Kenseth would won in his #42 McDonald’s Chevorlet. But other than that, it’s still a pretty good race this year! 😃👍🏎🏁

That guy on Pit Road is blessed I remember as a kid watching the last race at Atlanta in 1990 and what happened to Bill Elliot's tire changer. I know that's always a possibility even after 30 years.

Gerald YaYa I understand, but they’re already there. They could qualify the morning before the race. They test these guys constantly. The guys in the cars are fine. If the test positive they take them out. Don’t see how qualifying changes anything. I’m sure those cars are there at least 3 days prior. Only certain personnel are let in there. Seems odd to me. I get the reasoning, but they don’t just arrive the day if the race. Wearing of masks is dumb too. They are tested constantly and are only forced to do that because of NASCAR or the state. The crew chief sits Aline with no one around him and he has to wear a mask. It’s like the UFC. Everyone one there has been tested before entering the arena. They have to be negative to get in. But, they still have to wear masks, but when they fight it’s ok not to wear them. Just seems dumb.

From what I heard he had a loose wheel. He ended up 11th I believe. That said for as much bad luck as that guy has had this season, it's amazing he is 2nd in the season standings.

JGR stupidity on their part of not keeping Kennseth Around But, I’d love to tank them for their stupidity, it’s waste see him in a Chevy. Hope Chip keeps him and Kurt for atleast 1 more year, my opinion with a bit of time them 2 can make Ganasi a true threat, Kurt & Matt are the perfect two drivers to compliment each other, one aggressive and smart, the other methodical and smart.

Great run for Larson' s fillin' if Kyle was in the seat??I 42 would have been the victor. So much for Nascar the hi lite reals. The real action was down under F1 has replaced Nascar in this household.

What a terrible track. Or tires. Or both. Can't believe this trash is still happening since 08. Cut down tires shouldn't happen like this. Sure, contact makes sense, but just driving and this happening over and over is not good racing.

Well considering none of them were even seriously injured... the worst that happened to them was maybe getting the wind knocked out of them. U sound incredibly soft if you think a race should be called over a few blown tires. There have been far worse wrecks that drivers have walked away from.
