Dave Moss has a great video of how to put on your front when and calipers to make sure that everything is in perfect alignment. If you don't you will only be using half your suspension in the front because it will be cockeyed.

you should align your calipers first by setting them in first and spinning the wheel and hitting the brakes a couple of times and the center your wheel? according to a few sources. Great job by the way!

Very informative and straight forward, however I was hoping that after he’d demonstrated how to remove and replace both wheels, he’d then move onto to recalibration of the rear wheel due to moving from a stock 60 profile to a 55 which that Michelin power RS rear tyre is. Most people watching this movie may not know about having to recalibrate the rear wheel and jump straight on the bike and nail it down the road?

If you look really closely at the fork casting at 17:34 the torque spec for the pinch bolts is etched right next to the bolt. 19nm.

I've read that some bolts & nuts should be lightly greased in order to prevent seizing -- particularly the higher torque ones. Maybe a good idea to ease cracking nuts and bolts next time 'round.

Two remarks from my side: you did not align the fork legs correctly (removed the tension) and you did not let the brake callipers settle straight. Is there a reason why you skipped those 2 (imho) important steps?

The lower torque is for the Showa struts, the higher torque is for the Öhlins... here is v4 Ducati maintenance manual you can reference. Also, you can usually call any Ducati dealership and they will tell you specific torques or procedures if you can’t find it online or in the owner’s manual. Great video. www.dropbox.com/s/8qt2gwzlsmtea30/V4S%20MANUAL-20190209T232713Z-001.zip?dl=0&file_subpath=%2FV4S+MANUAL%2Fv4S+manual

Do you find the 55 tires okay?
@CaliMotoTV
@CaliMotoTV 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Our Michelins have a pretty high profile so they work out well. All different manufacturers have different dimensions for their tires, it varies even between tire types. 200/55 Michelin will look / ride completely different than a 200/55 dunlop. However, for regular day to day use there isn't much of a difference and any brand 200/55 will do. Just remember to do tire calibration

@dkv4s902
@dkv4s902 4 жыл бұрын
Gungar yes the ecu might contemplate the speed difference made by running a smaller diameter rear tire however, that means the geometry of the chassis would be changed, lower rear ride height, increased rake...maybe these changes may not be noticeable, I’m not sure.

@@dkv4s902 Good point... the bike will be 1 cm lower... Diameter is 672mm vs 652mm (for 55 tire)... however Calimoto rides on track all the time, so I guess he knows what he's doing
