The big issue with Kona's putt is she isn't keeping disc on straight line. She reaches to her right hip which adds angle to her line and means you will miss left and right a lot. keep that disc on center line folks.
@Chrisakafamous
@Chrisakafamous 4 жыл бұрын
I think the bigger issue is her hips being open and the power she was getting off her left was directing her body right
@mandobrownie
@mandobrownie 4 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure McBeth also reaches to one side of his hip slightly off center when he putts. It's not about which technique you use, it's about having whatever technique you choose dialed in to the point where you can do it the same over and over again with the same results. I'm betting she basically has that but just gets thrown off when she has bad putts. Sometimes it's more about having the confidence momentum so that you don't turn on the manual throwing mode so to speak; once it stops being automatic then the replicability goes out the window.
@QactisX
@QactisX 4 жыл бұрын
I mean if she masters that weight shift, she can just rotate her shoulders to the left about 20 degrees and then when she smashes it goes right in the basket, I do that if i miss right, just a tiny correction of my shoulders left next putt and it's center chains.
@CodiTheJedi
@CodiTheJedi 4 жыл бұрын
@@mandobrownie Nah Mcbeths disc is on a straight line though from the point of release to his reach back. his body is moved around the disc. Konas body is in the way of the line of the putt. It's all about creating the swing plane of the disc and then move your body around that to add momentum.
@Chrisakafamous

I would love to hear paige and erica not speak about how pars are fine. From a spectator standpoint for a professional player I want them to push the boundaries of what they believe the fpo is capable of. It sounds like they are too comfortable with not pushing after paige pierces greatness.

FPO is a lot like ball golf in the scores.
@brian6speed
@brian6speed 4 жыл бұрын
In FPO you don't have to push to finish in top 5. You could lay up every putt for tap ins and finish in top 5. Top 5 means you are making good $. Playing smart easy stress free golf and still getting paid more than most men. If I played in FPO I'd layup and collect my easy $. As a female competitor you wait for Paige to have a bad tournament and win those. Paige has consistency issues.
@Slippy6582

Paige Pierce is just another league... Sounds pretty rough, but it is the truth, she could play with men and would compete for the TOP 10 in an 100 player field, that´s how good she is. She is dominating! And if you are a discgolfplayer, you know how tough it is on a windy day, so a PAR is good in these situations. Better safe than sorry, i totally understand this!
@brian6speed
@brian6speed 4 жыл бұрын
@Slippy6582 Paige can't compete with men. She has tried in multiple tournaments and always finishes 20-30 strokes behind leader and not even close to top. Also this was the non-windy round. Round 3 is when you will see wind.

Had a few putting mishaps like #9 myself but that was definitely tough to have something like that happen on camera. Had to have been nerves making her mental game affected and she unknowingly altered her putting form. I've done it without realizing it until the next day and it was so obvious what I was doing wrong.. it's a weird thing.

Paige is a great putter because she always releases flat. Rebecca Cox and Catrina Allen throw some weird nose down release 90% of the time and consistently struggle with their putting. I'm not sure why they aren't correcting this...
@CodiTheJedi
@CodiTheJedi 4 жыл бұрын
Most ladies don't use momentum within their putts, so they get a lot of inconsistency from jab putting. It's very odd indeed. A perfectly flat putt is not always ideal for all conditions either, bc it makes the disc spit out more from such a flat blunt edge hitting the chains, making it act like hitting a wall (think prodigy chain design). The best putt is what the top men do; a slight hyzer on the right side of the pole coming in from high to low. Most ladies are either very nervous or they don't practice momentum within their putts. I think Hailey king has the most technically sound women's putt. You can see the build-up of momentum from the backswing and weight shift going into the disc effortlessly. Paige Pierce is close as well.

Paige pierces power is unmatched. I think pound for pound she is one of the top furthest throwers of men or women. Her brace is unmatched by any other fpo player. It's crazy really. In other words I think shue's only hope is in the woods.

I like that you're trying to be supportive of the players, but please stop letting players off of the hook when they're not performing like a pro should. It's always an excuse like "normally she's a really good putter" or "that's uncharacteristic of her". If you do it enough times, it is characteristic. I'm sure Kona feels horrible for 6-putting on hole 9, and if she wants to consider herself a "pro" then she's going to need to make sure that never happens again. I don't know how she doesn't realize (or people coaching her) that she reaches down and then slides her reach down to her right hip, which completely throws off the angle and causes the wild putts. It's embarrassing that a so-called professional doesn't know that. I hope she figures it out, but that's up to her. I see Rebecca has worked a little on her form. Still a ways to go, but good for her for trying to get better. For right now, I only have 1 player who plays at a pro level often enough (Paige Pierce), but she has consistency issues where other lesser players are able to creep in and compete sometimes. I don't mean for this to come off at negative, but hopefully constructive criticism. If the drive is there, then they'll get better. If.
@DarkGolbez1
@DarkGolbez1 4 жыл бұрын
@Carcrash Shawty Fair enough I didn't know about that one. I'll agree that she is the most consistent FPO player, and I am trying to say that when she's on she is by far the best player in her field. I have seen tournaments though where she takes unnecessary risks which lead to costly OB's and lets some of the other players hang around. I'm just saying that I don't see the drive by so many of the players. Being fine with pars, showing no improvement (or little improvement) in their games from year to year. Putting is the biggest one since that has little to do with power. It's just technique, and practice practice practice. There's no reason the FPO field can't putt as well as the MPO field, but they don't and it's not close. I appreciate the exposure, but I'm just waiting for the true talents to finally show up and emerge. Or, for some of the current players to show the dedication it would take to be a true professional.
