2020 Ford F-150 Raptor (P552) Review, In Depth Tour, Walkaround, and Test Drive
The Ford F-150 Raptor is based on the highly reputable and pedigree-filled Ford F-Series pickup truck dating back to 1948. The Raptor version of the F-150 is considered the top of the line trim level for the F-150 lineup. Unlike its predecessors, this second generation Raptor no longer uses a big V8 engine, and instead has opted for the 21st century route of turbocharging its engine, which by the way, shares around 70% of its components with the new Ford GT's engine. The F-150 Raptor features:
3.5L Twin-Turbo EcoBoost V6 Gasoline engine
450hp, 691Nm Torque
10 Speed automatic transmission
Fox Racing suspension
Giant BF Goodrich K02 315/70/17 tires (which were specifically designed for the Raptor series including the smaller mid-sized pickup truck more commonly seen in the Philippines, the Ranger Raptor)
It also came with cosmetic upgrades such as
FORD grille in matte black up front
Raptor and FORD trim in matte at the back
Raptor design in the interior
Based on the 13th generation Ford F-150 P552 body
Second generation Raptor

This is my favorite pick up truck, since I experienced riding the 1999 version of f150. I really wanted to experience riding this F150 raptor

The only raptor i got is the forza raptor hotwheels hahaha 😂 Thanks alot for the review :) made me feel like i was joining you going in and out the truck, though i was expecting it to be spacious inside i didnt expect it to be that spacious. 2 people can literally sleep in the back and on the floor if they lay straight parallel from the doors 😂

That's all you need ;) HAHAHA No problem!! Always a pleasure sharing with people my experiences with cars I get to try out! Sure is a passion for me! Have you seen my first ever video on KZfaq? The W140 S Class Mercedes Benz? While the video isn't exactly great, you can see just how much legroom that car has. More so than in the F150 Raptor. I love that car so much and is probably hands down my favourite car in the world. I sold that car around a year and a half ago, and have been missing it dearly. Last week, I decided to contact the guy I sold it to, and he agreed to sell it back to me. It's coming all the way from Cebu, and I'm getting it sometime next week hehehe! A proper review on it soon :)

He ended up doing a couple of repairs on it, so it should be in even greater shape than when I sold it. (Not that it was in bad shape.... it’s probably one of the best W140s in the country)

The Powerboost Hybrid of the 2021 model makes slightly less power at 430hp. I wonder when will the 2021 model land in our shores. I guess it might be next year or even in 2023, considering that even the 2019 RWD Explorer hasn't been introduced to us yet. The 3.0 PowerStroke V6 turbodiesel is an interesting engine and at 250hp its more than ample for Philippine roads, and being diesel it will surely be a hit compared to the 3.5 Ecoboost. But even if the 2021 model comes out I doubt Ford PH will offer this since the engine is developed by LandRover/Jaguar and shipped from the UK to the US, so owing to supply chain issues Ford PH will most likely still offer the 3.5 EcoBoost, so parts can still be shared with the Expedition. There are also rumours that the next-gen Ranger Raptor will have the 3.0 PowerStroke V6 with the 2.0 biturbo relegated to other models replacing the 2.2 turbodiesel. I kinda wonder why Ford did not consider upscaling their existing diesel engines offered here in SE Asia instead and put it on the F-150, and since Ford announced earlier that the 2021 F-150 will be a global model.

I don't think the F150 will be a big hit with a diesel engine in the PH as we commonly associate diesel engines with "cheapness" here, and the target market of these might be more affluent people (as least in the PH), so I doubt they would find gas prices and fuel economy to be any of their worries. With that said though, diesel BMWs and Mercedes sedans are popular here, so..... Also, no matter how small and efficient a diesel engine, the sheer size of this car makes it not ample for Philippine roads hahaha! We have the Ranger Raptor for that already anyways :D

I’m 5’6” myself and it’s alright. You can raise the seats so that you get a great view outside. Overall, no problem for a 5’6” driver

I just want to remind you that the inspiration of the ranger raptor came from the F150 Raptor and you are relating it to it. in which most of the things you see in the Ranger Raptor came from the F150 Raptor

I think it’s because the target market for this monster don’t really mind fuel expenses hahaha! As for me, unfortunately I wasn’t able to drive it long enough to check the fuel consumption.

Are you sure you’re comparing this to other F150 Raptors? Perhaps you’ve mistaken it for the Ranger Raptor. The local dealers do not sell the F150 Raptor.

It’s not just the engine that’s different. Everything is different between the two. The F150 is full sized, while the Ranger is a bit more compact. The Ranger costs less than 2M PHP while the F150 goes for around 6.2M

I guess it’s too expensive for the PH market to buy it en masse. For every model Ford PH brings in, they must have a certain amount of training for personnel, and enough supply of parts before the model is brought in, which is very expensive, and cannot be offset by the quantity they can realistically sell.

This is raptor . Ranger is just a ranger with a sticker RAPTOR and the price . Even fox is not the same . This one in ranger is just cheap fox . In f150 raptor ate real expensive fox susspension . Ranger raptor is a cheapmade raptor with high price.

I do feel the difference but also, the F150 Raptor is 3 times more expensive here in the PH than the Ranger Raptor :((
