She was an alternate because of bars. It was her weakest and she has improved a lot but Gabby was chosen over her for bars and also beam though Gabby was really inconsistent on beam she managed to hit at the olympics. Many still think Mykayla should've gone instead of Gabby because Mykayla could've easily have placed second on vault if she did her amanar, and Gabby didn't hit in bars final. Even if Gabby had hit she most likely wouldn't have placed with her lower difficulty and Laurie was good on bars but wasn't even used so whatever, it happened.

@@brodypenn actually it wasn’t because just that. There were more factors. Yes, gabby was not consistent on beam, but mykayla was? Gabby was better than her despite her previous errors she had on beam. And Mykayla wouldn’t win “easily” even with a good amanar. In 2015, there was the thing with her one handed cheng. They could very well do the same thing in Rio, so... Gabby did her job in Rio, if she had hit in UB EF, she would’ve won bronze. She was simply a better AAer than Mykayla. It was a dificult choice in quals, because Laurie could outscore both Aly and Gabby potentially. gabby got to do AA in quals and Laurie didn’t do bars. Laurie was the third best bar worker, but her out of bars wasn’t a big thing. Gabby was simply ready to do AA in quals and Marta believed she would hit. And she did. The team was the best possible choice. And it already happened so whatever. I just wanted to make it CLEAR that mykayla’s bars wasn’t the main or the only motive to not make the team AT ALL. Alternate sucks but it wasn’t wrong.

Because simply there were better options than her for the team. She peaked, but even still wasn’t enough. Would be very nice if she makes it for Tokyo, but she needs to step up her game if she wants to. A lil help from a few would make her chances tremendously higher too.

The first pass really does look like a Silivas than a Moors from this angle because of how she piked.

Ronnie Estrella I mean it would be piked if she would only bend at the waist but also her legs are bent. Technically a very loose tucked double double. I still would rather her do a Chusovitina which would give her less dedications and a higher score overall, she would only lose .1 in difficulty but would gain more in execution alone.

Rique Busta I don’t really agree. Her form would be just as bad on the chuso. For MyKayla I’d say just stick to her moors. Also this video isn’t a good representation of how her moors can look. In 2019 worlds podium training it looked much better.

Askewlemon her execution lacks on all apparatuses not just FX. I disagree though, her execution would probably be better on a chuso she would only lose the tenth. Her form was better in podium training at 2019 worlds but she still bends at the knees. In that video she keeps a straight body on the first somersault then she bends on the second. It only really helps my point that she should rather take out the moors and do a chuso, she would score better. This CoP is not exactly about throwing difficulty but more on execution which she lacks. She’s lucky the judges haven’t downgraded her moors.
