2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP | First Ride Review
I was lucky enough to be offered the brand new 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R SP Fireblade for a couple of weeks to test on the road. Sadly, the weather immediately decided it didn't want to play along! But, that didn't stop me from taking this road-based racing thoroughbred for a spin on some very wet, muddy, and greasy UK roads. So join me for a little, rather restrained first ride!
Many thanks to Honda UK for making this video possible.

When I started riding, 50-60 hp was a superbike and 200hp was a blown dragbike with the manners of a hand grenade. 214 hp I cannot imagine that feeling.

I own a 2012 cbr6oorr. Amazing engine and handling abilities. Plenty for me on the streets. I couldn't possibly comprehend what that motorcycle would feel like? I am elated to own a 2018 Fireblade, but sad that it can never realize its full potential. :) You do get used to the awkward neck and back position. My neck hurt so bad in the first couple of months that I flirted with returning it/selling it. I'm glad I didn't. The bike is full-on sexy, and though I love the comfort of my CB650R, this bike is all out exhilaration. It is not a road trip bike. It is a one-hour ride. The CB650R... that's my long day bike.

There's plenty of full fat naked bikes already out there. Super Duke R, Street Fighter, Brutale, Tuono to name just a few. They are fun but you can't really get the most out of them on the road. There are talks of Honda making a CBR1000 naked but we will see. Not sure it'll happen as the CB1000 already occupies the space, although that's not a supernaked.

They are quite cramped, but I do think after a while you get used to that prone riding position. It's all about the experience though! You don't buy that bike to put a top box on it. @@Englishbikerdan that's my opinion. If it's akra doesn't mean that is nice and sounds cool. It's to big for this bike and the sound is like a young cow 🐮. Not cool at all. If I will buy this bike the exhaust is first thing I will change it other than that the bike is almost perfect.

Reviews should be left to people whom have the knowhow to give a review , ie when reviewing a supersport bike you should have some race experience knowing about handling and so on . Talking about throttle respons at walking pace and suspension whilst tumbling down a road and braking from an average 50mph is not a review of a bike like this .

This bike is apparently not for you. What were you expecting before sitting on a supersport? Of course it is not comfortable for "you". You don't have the proper muscle strength in your adductors, core and endurance to ride it.

When Honda contact you and ask if you want to borrow their latest Superbike, you don't say no! This bike was made to win races. They had to make a road version to meet the homologation rules of most championships (BSB, WSB etc). I've owned plenty of sportsbikes in my life but this is the most extreme. I'm really glad I rode it, a fantastic machine even if it's uncomfortable.

Old cbr1000rr is a very road biassed superbike it has a lot of torque in early RPMs but not as much power at the top. Also, the ergonomics on the older bike is more relaxed. Also, euro5 regulations kinda killing the street capability of this bike because it had nothing under 8k RPMs it needs a reflash badly to remove these restrictions. There are no questions about that if you're in quest for good road-going superbikes it's not it, It's a very track-focused motorcycle.

31k for a re-dressed Fireblade with engine from 1990s. Only Honda can convince their fans to pay that much money for a bike that doesn't come with contrarotating crank and still has a screamer engine that even Honda abandoned in motogp.

This bike is amazing but pointless.. unusable on a normal road did you even get out of 2nd? I bet your wrist took a beating... there is so little difference between a race bike and a tourer, naked or adventure in terms of speed usable on a road that race bikes are pointless off a track.

@@AmritGrewal31 It's not bias take Aprilia or Ducati to a spin and you'll see for yourself. But some Japanese bikes do have character. Yamaha bikes got a lot of character r1 and mt09 is one of the most fun bikes to ride. and this cbr1000rr-r has character too but still, this bike has tons of issues it's not that fast for 217HP it getting walked on by 2020 r1 and zx10r and it's too tall geared for more technical slower tracks. Leave European bikes aside it's not a top Japanese bike by either pretty much on every track test and shoutout r1 beats it with much faster lap times.
