@@mickleblade Hi Mickleblade, i wasnt sure if you was asking Nick or myself..I didnt buy my one New I bought the Manual Geared one with 2000miles on the clock, at a complete steal and Immaculate Condition....As i have had maxi scooters as well as Bikes, and fancied going the Manual way..My only advice is to try one on a test ride, from what ive read it suits taller guys too, in order both feet are planted firmly on the ground..If you're happy then i suggest you buy it..Everything Nick states here is 100% correct and trust the Bike does everything it states on the tin....You wont go wrong....

@@keith4usa1 hi Keith, it was you I was speaking to! I have long legs, something I've grown to dislike about my Cbf1000 is the low seat. So I'm concerned about an 800mm seat being too low. Yes, know I could get the seat redone (€300), dogbones changed €40 (also needs side stand mod) or pegs lowered (affect ground clearance). So I'm more looking at a Tracer 7 or tiger 660.

I've had my Nc750x for nearly 6 trouble free years. I can do all the maintenance jobs easily. It is an amazing allrounder. I have a tall screen for winter and use the stock for the rest. Sonetimes i get 90 mpg!! Mines in black and it still looks fantastic. You may want more power but you dont need it. Buy one; its a no-brainer.

newer cars that have a very complex and sharp edges design, these NC stayed very humble and smooth. I am still confused how some people would want that much more power. Especially with punishing taxes and fuel prices. But I guess I'm not in that racing/rich category. Please share what your screen is. I had to rush trying to find mine at a local Thai manufacturer that surely never aero designed it but it was 27$. Still did not try it but without it I feel a NC750X does pick up huge amounts of wind. I tested another for 700km that had a GIVI screen - that's when I fell in love with the NC. This GIVI with extension second layer let me open my visor at 180km/h and I didn't feel wind in my eyes. I couldn't find any though. Because my model is 2015, maybe the slight aero of the body makes replicating this impossible but I'll keep trying.

I bought a blue 2019 one brand new back in May this year (it had sat on the floor for over 1 year), and I don't feel it is underpowered at all, even with me on it (very heavy guy). It does over 90 mph effortlessly. Plus it is a very practical and comfortable bike. I have no desire to trade it in for any other bike whatsoever, and am not worried if it is considered uncool or anything. To each their own.

Great video, Nick. What you say, and demonstrated, in the video is absolutely correct. I delayed buying my NC750S because of what I read about it being underpowered, but after buying it I realised it was absolute nonsense. For real world conditions this bike has more than enough power and, for me, is really enjoyable to ride. Love your videos mate.

Your enthusiasm for the bike comes shinning through and loved the vid. I have owned one from new for two years now and think it a hugely underrated bike. My experience of the tyres and seat are different. I only got just over 3k from the tyres and I don't ride the bike hard, I changed to Metzler Tourance and the handling is greatly improved. You must have a backside made out of steel :) as I find the seat hard to get on with and thats with me doing over 14k in the last couple of years (on more than one bike) so my backside is used to the miles. Keep the videos coming.

Fantastic review covered all i wanted to know. Love the power coverage. I have a 65hp bike and can use all the power. The really fast bikes with traction control etc cannot use all their power in every gear. I went from a 120hp bike to this one. I prefer revving the lower power bike to only using the first 2or 3 gears

Hi Nick. Another great episode. Been riding my new 2021 NC750X DCT version for three months now. I must say that the dct works great and you also have the option of using it manually too. The fact that in heavy traffic conditions you have no stress makes a huge difference not having to constantly pull in or out the clutch. The lower seat height helps us shorter riders feel much more at ease when stopping. Great value for the money for sure only just wished they included an option for cruise control. Cheers.

I average 88 around town and when I'm on a long trip I get over 90mpg, it's true what they say, this bike is designed for great fuel economy, hence the name NC= New Concept, no manufacturer has done what honda has achieved with this bike, making it a very desirable choice.

Had an original fazer 600 as a hack that served its purpose but the NC 's storage is genius in my opinion. Plus you can service the bike with ease. On the hunt for an NC to own and enjoy

Fantastic vid. Great in depth knowledge on this bike, spoken by a true advocate for the model! Really liked your mods, that blue accessory bar matches so well with the factory colour, So many times this past year I was so close to getting one of these, visited the Honda dealer numerous times, went to see a bunch of second hand examples, really like this style and have to say it looks really great in that blue colour. Same Honda don’t do a TriColour version though. I also saw someone who had taken the NC750S and put a round headlight on it, really transformed the look, much more retro aggressive like the CB1000SF or CB400SF. Anyway, since I’m a sucker for a round headlight, I’m now on the waiting list for something decidedly different, Kawasaki Z650RS. Judging from your review I would not have regretted the NC750X!

@nicksepisode 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad my passion for this motorcycle shines through. The Z650RS is still a fantastic bike that you will not be disappointed with, I prefer the retro styling, but in my case a modern retro would not tick as many boxes as the NC does. Ride safe and enjoy your new motorcycle :)

Absolute best review of this bike Ive seen so far. I've been riding a 2000 VFR800 Fi for a year and the heat in traffic is crazy hot! But I'm from the Vstrom 650 style of riding for 13 years. And althought I love the VFR 800, I'm missing that seating position from the V-Strom 650. The road here in Quebec are third world quality. Basically there shiite!! And the VFR 800 lets me know it. I've been eyeing this bike for some time now. And your review has indeed furthered my interest. What a great sound too. Close to my VFR 800 actually. Sadly, in Canada there is no blue version like yours, which is absolutey gorgeous!! Thanks again for the love letter to your bike. Happy and safe riding sir :)

@marklevy9
@marklevy9 2 жыл бұрын
@@UncleWally3 depends ….. Manual - you get a slip and assist clutch and the 2021 is much lighter to pull in the handle, although the 2020 is not difficult Higher red line although I never once hit the red line on my previous bikes - you learn to change to maximize the torque DCT - is better on the 2021 Ride by wire - you won’t notice the difference Off road - despite other posters telling you this can be used off road, this is not an off road bike. However if you upgrade the suspension and tyres the 2020 model would be better as it has more ground clearance Screen - both crap Instrument panel - neither offer Bluetooth connectivity - so both the same Suspension - for riding on the road - both fine Why did I change: the engine mods. The engine just feels better, more Revvy, the slightly higher HP and torque, although on paper does not sound much simply makes the bike feel a lot more fun Don’t take my word for it. There is a good review on KZfaq by MR. Fish on the 2021 model.

A very capable commuter bike. I'm in the market and my eyes keep wandering back at the NC750X. There are plenty of haters on KZfaq but this bike can do it all. At age 60, I'm past caring about Power Ranger leathers and Rossi fantasies lol. This bike even caters to the vertically challenged, why heck 06:45 it can even accommodate Nicks 29mm (1.14 inch) inseam !! (gotta love it). Thanks for the chuckle, Nick ;)

I had a 2013 700x dct for 8 years doing just over 40k miles in that time. They are such great, reliable, do it all bikes. Mine took me to work every day all year round. I also did regular journeys from London to Yorkshire, a few trips to Wales and a 1700 miles in 6 days Scottish tour last summer. I'd still have it if it hadn't been stolen and written off before Christmas. Such a sad end to the single best thing I have ever owned. I'm missing it a lot and hope to own another NC soon. I can highly recommend buying a Honda NC!

Great review, I have a 2022 model coming in November of 2022. I am adding the luggage , center stand, USB port, and fog lights. What many viewed as negative points drew me to the bike. Thanks for the vid & review. Had mine just under 3 years after the SV1000 got nicked & burnt out at a time when I was feeling the knees were creaking too much, so love the riding position. Occasionally miss a bit of acceleration but powerful enough for my needs.. Needed new boots before 8,000. I love the economy, usually about 80mpg. Looks smart (blue & grey) 2018 before traction control. Had sat in showroom too long so got £1500 discount! Initially found DCT weird but now wouldn't be without it.

Cracking review, thanks! I've just ordered a 2023 DCT model. Picking it up Friday. I've been using my trusty 2018 Africa Twin Adventure Sports as a daily for 3 years. Fantastic bike and surprisingly good as an all rounder. I've done tours, trails and city riding and really enjoyed the bike. However! It's really too tall, even with a lowered rally seat. And it's waaaay too top heavy. I've got a 300kg Pan European and that feels way lighter than the AT. So, I took the plunge, tested one, loved it, did the deal and am currently taking bits off the AT to add to the NC next week! Tbc...

I do 100 miles a day and this bike is awesome, I leave it in drive mode for the most and don’t have a problem, she sits comfortably at 60 or 70 or higher if you wish, I’m getting 82 mpg, I’ve ridden in the dark and don’t see an issue with the lights, please bear in mind I’m comparing the lights to the two older bikes I have. Seat is firm but I’ve not got a problem from a comfort point, I’ve sat on it for well over an hour with no issue. Great bike, the DCT took a few rides to get used but I love it.

Nice review of a great bike. TOTALLY agree with your comments about performance. Deceptively quick and can reach more than you say, before you know it, if you're not concentrating. I've had many bigger bikes (in fact 'downsized' to the NC after many years) and surprised at it's abilities - but then is IS a 750cc, once considered a superbike size and we seem conditioned to think of them as mid sized now! But you've said it all. Can't agree about the headlight. Being picky "this model, the 2014-2020, has LED headlights" - The style of the 2014-2016 models was different and apart from the cosmetic restyling, from the earlier downward pointing black side panels to the 'chevron' shaped panels, the earlier model had conventional rather than LED headlights from about 2017. Round the forums most owners seem to find the LED headlight lacking. Arguably useless for lacking intensity and patchy spread, and the reason most owners end up adding extra auxiliary lights. The seat is partly an age thing - older bums don't adapt well! :-) My own opinion is that it's not so much seat as the rear shock 'slaps' the bum all the time and might be the better investment to replace that. It's a Swiss army knife of a bike that's does everything well - the intelligent choice? I no longer have mine (was a 2018), but can see another one in the future. And without starting the usual debate, the manual is excellent, but I think DCT has the edge.

I have now had my NC750X for 6 years and it has been a great all-rounder. I use it for local shopping and longer journeys. I would not say it was under-powered but do find pulling away uphill a challenge when two-up. My biggest gripe is the seat height which only suits people with long legs. I added shorter suspension struts but then could not get the bike on its main stand. The LED headlamp is poor on dark road surfaces and the display changing menu far too complicated. Otherwise a great value for money purchase.

Nice review. I had a 750x for a couple of years, and may get another one. Is it under powered? Yes, compared to other 750 and most 600 bikes, of course it is. It is up to the rider if it is powerful enough. For me, it was. Some overtakes had to be planned a bit more carefully than other bikes, but it was not that much of a big deal. No, it is not very exciting to ride, but the low-end torque, dct option, touring capabilities, and cheapness of ownership are big positives.

Hi, I bought my NC 750 X DCT about 4 years ago and love it. It is true it is a bit underpowered if you are running with a pillion but all in all it is perfect bike. I have done even 80 mpg if I am careful and given today's gas prices this is just a reason enough. The gas storage compartment should be a bit larger, my full face helmet does not fit because the intercomm. I don't understand given most of that space is plastic why they could not have made it 3-4 cms wider. Worst thing for me is the LCD display. Honda displays are poor. In an era of great tft screens and connectivity having this lousy screen is a dissappointment. Not even as an option they have better displays

Hello nick thank you very much for the video as I am considering purchasing one of these bikes I do recommend you edit this video as you show that you are breaking the speed limit quite a few times plus on one occasion you managed to reach 100 just for a second as far as I know that is an instant ban and you've lost your motorcycle licence plus the fines and court costs just blur out the Speedo.
@nicksepisode
@nicksepisode 2 жыл бұрын
This footage wouldn't support court fines, 1. Because my speedometer isn't accurate due to a change in sprockets. I appreciate your concern and to be honest in future I will blur it, but in order for me to be charged they would need to prove I was speeding with calibrated systems or if my footage shows reckless riding, none of which it does. I just wanted to prove this bike still has poke. That's a risk I'm willing to take.

great video. I think one of best things about these bikes is the “frunk” more bikes should have this. As you say, the acceleration speed seems more than adequate but you said you’re only 13.5 stone, I’m 9 stone heavier (more with gear on) so what’s it like 2 up?
@nicksepisode
@nicksepisode 2 жыл бұрын
The frunk is most definitely the best thing, I make use of it daily. I riding 2up equals to about 22 stone and the bike handles it without trouble, the only thing I notice is that the stopping distance increases, but power wise its perfectly adequate. Thank you for the comment and I appreciate you watching.

Great honest video. I've got mine 2019 model for 6 months now and I can honestly say this is one of the best bikes I have owned. I have got some criticism on the bike thought but this is my personal opinion of course. The 6 gear could be slightly better. I generally don't use it below 75. I suppose it's made like this for fuel economy and to rich this 120 mh you mentioned in the video but I rudder have it making 110 with a bit more acceleration on 6th. You said it - who rides this bike at that speed anyway. Also the original tyres were bad for me. At 3000 miles they square so much that leaning over the square bit was scary experience. I've changed them and it was total transformation of my riding. Other than that the bike is great. Cheers O I don't have any issues with the seat either...

Great review, Nick, your enthusiasm for the NC750x really shines through. I saw one today, 2018 model with very low mileage on sale, and was thinking of buying it. I thought I'd do a bit of online research first and that's how I came across your video. I ride a CB 500f at the moment and love it, but I feel for the big roads I could do with a bit more power and stability. Do you think the NC750x would offer those characteristics, and do you think it is different enough from a CB500f to justify the purchase. There's not much on paper between the two models, so that's why I'm asking. Many thanks, Martin

To compare I rode a cb500x and a nc750x back To back, the nc750x done everything the cb500x could and more. The nc cruises more comfortably at 60mph and not to mention the benefit of the storage frunk! Both are great bikes though 👌

@@nicksepisode thanks, Nick. Yes, that higher speed cruising comfort is what I'm after. The one I saw today only had 6000kms on the clock and looked like new. The dealer will take a trade in so all in all I'll be doing well. One thing I love about the Cb500f is how she performs on smaller country roads, really nimble and agile on the bends. Is the bigger NC750 like this too?

The nc750x is very nimble due to its low down weight and low centre of gravity

I am shopping for my 1st motorcycle in 20 yrs... this seems perfect. They classify it as an adventure bike, do people change tires and put more dual sport tires on it?? An African twin would be cool but overkill for me at the much higher price and to over built for off-roading. I wouldn't mind making this into a lite adventure bike.. Thoughts??

This particular model (2014-2020) would be ideal and others have put dual sport tyres on and fitted a sump guard to take on all types of terrain. But the 2021 is lower and wouldn't be so ideal for this.

I enjoyed your long term review but can you tell me how accurate the fuel gauge is please and how is carrying a pillion

Fuel gauge is spot on. Pillion comfort it great for 2-3 hours on the standard seat. New 2021> models have an improved seat

I understand this is an older video, but I have indeed bought a 2014 NC750x, do you have any videos on winter prep?

I ride a Hayabusa. I am about to purchase what will be my second NC. For me it's got to be the DCT version. The NC has plenty of power for what it is designed to do. Indeed if I could only have one bike (I have a few) it would be the Honda NC750X-DCT all day long.....

I've already owned a liter bike and I fully believe this bike would take me from home here in Florida all the way to Prudhoe Bay and back again in one go.. if I could hold up My End.

Hi, I'm considering buying a nc750x and would like to do a bit of touring with my wife on pillion. We are both around 6ft and 23 Stone combined, would the bike cope well with this and how have you found pillion comfort Thanks Steve

Pillion is good for about 2 hours, regularly stopping is required. I'd say a tiger or v strom would suit better for long distances carrying pillion

I've looked at these repeatedly over the years, just never pulled the trigger on one. I suppose I keep procrastinating thinking each year the next one will be even better and I should wait. I've seen reports of an 850cc in 2022 possibly with Cruise Control which would be perfect. Anyone who has ridden both 2021 and earlier models tell me if they think the 2021 DCT is different enough to warrant the extra over a lightly used 2020 DCT model?
@nicksepisode
@nicksepisode 2 жыл бұрын
The 850 could be a lot longer than we think, I'd imagine the price will go up too. Grab a 2020 deal if i were you, save a few grand, still offers the same amount of practicality and enjoyment. Good luck with the search 👍
