Aside of the Pilot being a 3 row SUV what differentiates these vehicles fro mini vans are their ability to tow 5000 Lbs. Minivans can do 3500 Lbs max and sometimes even less than that. Having a midsize AWD SUV that can tow 5000 Lbs is a big bonus. A major selling point you neglected to mention. Also you neglected to state that the Honda Pilot has been in production for over 16 years and has all the bugs worked out... unlike the Ascent, Pallisade, Telluride or new explorer which are new vehicles and will have issues. Just go read the issues their having with the Ascent .

My mom had a 2011 Honda pilot. It was the best car she's ever owned. The new Honda pilot's are super comfy.

Remember who’s possibly watching this video. Anyone intelligent enough to want/drive a Honda isn’t going to be swayed by faux luxury in a trash vehicle like a Kia. People that buy Hondas do it so they don’t have to get a new engine in a few months. And so they are as protected as they can be if they should be in an accident. Car prices are out the roof. The only way to get your money’s worth is to keep a car a very long time. My Honda CR-V is 10 year’s old, still runs great and looks great. Honda or Nissan are my favorite.

I Have a 2007 pilot 4WD. I have never had a problem with it other than regular maintenance issues. I will drive it until the body falls apart, which will be way before the engine goes. I just wish they made the new pilots look less like a mini van or oversized CR-V.

I’m so surprised with this review. I LOVE my pilot and it’s soooo family friendly. And reliable. I have a 2014 CR-V that just started having problems close to 100,000 miles which is common in any car. When I decided to upsize when we had our daughter I test drove a bunch of others but nothing compared to the drive the Honda’s have and I actually like the simple look of Honda’s.

hello, i am a new 2019 honda passport touring owner. i am here in canada. the touring is the top trim level. picked it up last week. 13,000 KMS on it. not sure how many miles that is. and just today - thu april 30th i get the infamous loss of radio signal and then the network communication failure and it goes dark. no pwer on it. then a few mins later it turns on by itself to the sirius xm station i was originally listening too. this happened 3 times within an hour. but the 4th time it never turned back on. stayed dark for an hour and i got home. turned the vehicle off. waited 3 mins and turned it back on. but NO screen. was dark. nothing. MANY videos on youtube also show the SPEEDOMETER goes dark as well. nothing showing your speed. THAT becomes a SAFETY issue. not a cosmetic one like the radio not working. videos show the infotainment screen turns off at the SAMETIME the speedometer screen goes dark. thats not good. im assuming all honda sending isnt working either since nothing is on the screen above the steering wheel. yes the passports have the SAME infotainment system as the pilot and odyssey's. and the samething is happening to 2019 acura rdx models as well. this is a HUGE SAFETY issue for honda. a HUGE class action lawsuit has started the the states. here in canada i dont see one yet. i need to start one because the issues are with the passports as well and it MIMCS the u.s. case. this is a SAFETY issue folks. look at these videos. would this be cool for you to drive in these situations with a 3 year old in the back seat? maybe not knowing if the honda sensing is working or not. not knowing how fast you are going.....hmmmmmm sounds like it becomes a NON street vehicle without a speedometer no??? I agree the Telluride/Palisade are better value at 50k if you're buying. But what about the fact that the Pilot/Highlander lease for about $150 less at the same price?

Question: Where can you get a white model with the black painted chrome front, side, and back pieces? It looks awesome!! (I definitely would not call it "butch" Lol 1:38) I haven't seen any on any lots, in person, or online on Honda's website. Was that done custom by the actual dealer? Also, I agree with the comments below that the new Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride "look better" in terms of styling and maybe even some features but the resale value on those vehicles are trash compared to Honda. Reliability is arguably the same as you still see a lot of older Hyundai's and Kia's on the road today; just not as old as Honda's. I still see 80's and 90's Honda Civics and Accords driving around in my area and not many Hyundai's from that era. What you should ask yourself is what's best for you/your family. For me the Pilot is the best choice for it's practicality and kid friendliness as I still have elementary school kids I drop off/pick up from school regularly and older kids that play middle school & high school sports. In my opinion, the Honda Pilot beats out pretty much every 3-row family crossover SUV. If I wanted to save some money in this class I'd go with the Hyundai or Kia. If I wanted to splurge and be wrapped in luxury then the Mercedes Benz GLE would be my choice.

Honda doesn’t need to keep up the competition , that’s what I like about Honda. The pilot is perfect for everyone. I’m totally happy with the pilot.

I wish Honda would release this over here in the UK. I've got the 2016 CRV which is great but would've liked a bigger SUV. Full size SUV's are very expensive over here (Toyota land cruiser, range rover, XC90 to name a few).

Bought a 2019 Elite three months ago, after local Kia dealers tried to gouge me on a Telluride. I am very happy with the purchase. Sure, the Pilot’s styling is bland, but it has essentially the same power train and AWD system as the MDX. (I came out of a 2010 MDX). The drivability issues with the early 9-speed transmission have been eliminated. I am sold on long term Honda reliability. One son is still driving our 2005 Pilot. Another son got my 2006 TLX with over 200,000 miles. A daughter just got the 2010 MDX. I expect the same reliability with the new Pilot. For me the value equation was a no-brainer for the Pilot over the Telluride. The Elite stickered for around $49K, but that is not what a savvy buyer would pay for one. Mine was discounted $6,000.00, plus another $500 for agreeing to use Honda financing, which was 0.9% for 36 months in late June. Total price was $42,500 with only TTL added. On the other hand, Kia was adding $1500 “market adjustment” and another $1000 in worthless dealer accessories. (Like $199 for nitrogen tires service).

I know their 3.5 v6 is tried and true but that mpg is garbage, they should’ve put the 2.0t and added a hybrid option, for the mpg alone it’s gonna make me get a Highlander

I agree with your assessment that other 3 row vehicles offer more and might be a little more exciting, however, none can match the reliability or resale value. For me that is always a factor. The Hyundai and Kia will tank in resale. I know I have owned 2 and enjoyed the vehicles but took a bath on resale. There is not a crossover on the market that holds its value like the Pilot except maybe the Hylander.

went with a 2020 Buick enclave instead of this vehicle. I did like the pilot but the third seat and trunk space are no match for the enclave. I do like the styling of the interior of the pilot over the enclave, but the functionality of third row and cargo space was more important to me.

I love my 2020 Honda Pilot elite although I negotiated 9k off listing brand new. So wasn’t 50k. I have a Toyota Tundra Crew Max as well. I love Toyota’s but I test drove the Hilghlander limited platinum and the under powered 4 runner. Went with Honda on this one. Kias suck.

Lol.. 50k for an outdated Honda Pilot? Why buy a Pilot when the clear better choice are the Palisade or Teluride.. not only are they less expensive, have better interior exterior styling, have more features but also come with a 10yrs warranty. Some will argue Honda will have better resale.. I doubt the resale difference will be anywhere near 5K. Can't believe I'm actually claiming Hyundai or Kia is better than Honda.. at least when it comes to 3 row SUVs.

Third row space sucks, seats almost level to the floor. That’s why not many reviewers are showing it. Brakes are soft, spongy and travels deep almost to the floor. Believe me I currently have Honda Odyssey and Honda Pilot and they’re all same when it comes to brakes. I now switched to Toyota and I’m loving it.
