Thanks for showing the volume adjustment. A lot of people complain about the lack of knobs. I purchased a Tacoma and after the 20 mile drive home and bouncing up/down and left/right with every bump (plus the lack of power), I took it back the next morning. Later I purchased a Ridge Line.

I've owned 2 Ridgelines (2006, 2019 current) and if your not in need of large towing capacity or full 4x4, it does amazing. I tow a 14x7 enclosed trailer for snowmobiles and various other uses. And I can tell you it tows quite well. My 2006 went through a ton of abuse and overuse, through renovations and long distance travel, and it never failed. Very comfortable to drive and good on fuel. Cant wait to see what Honda comes up with next the hybrid will be great for us commuters.

Driving dynamics of a crossover with just enough utility capability the general population needs. I always see people complaining that it's not a real truck. I don't see the point. So weird... I just got a 2020 Pilot EX-L (traded in a 2016 Pilot EX-L). The 2020 Pilot EX-L got the upgraded radio, but stuck with the 6-speed transmission. The 2020 Ridgeline got the upgraded transmission but not the radio. For 2021, the Pilot also gets the ZF transmission across all trim levels. I wonder if 2021 will see the Ridgeline get the upgraded radio (with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and a volume knob). The radio is a HUGE improvement in both functionality and sound. There is actual bass now!

That would be perfect for me. I don't need a full sized truck. All I need a truck for as an average homeowner is something to haul a load of bark or fertilizer from the garden center or a chair or table once in a while. I'm not going to use it for work. I'd also rather have a Honda drive train and fit/finish vs. a Colorado or Ranger. Say its not a "real truck" - it still would do exactly what I need it to. Now just wait until the model year is winding down and dealers are desperate to move cars after the coronavirus lockdowns.
@Stephen-er4bi
@Stephen-er4bi 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I moved on from "real" pick up trucks about 6 years ago, I was buying into the real truck hype when all I ever did was haul mulch or yard debris and a occasional muddy hunting dog. But I soon learned of the limitations of having a suv and needing a bed on occasion. So this looks like a perfect match for what I really need. The old model was a real turn off for me, but this gen looks much better. I think I will wait for the 2021, maybe it will get an updated user interface with a volume knob and a fresh grille.

Love the car. I think the shifter buttons take up just as much space as a real shifter, so therefore I think the shifter should be moved to the lower dash, like the Ram and that would free up TONS of space.

I traded mine 2017 in after 53,000. I couldn't take the transmission anymore just overheated way to easily and I tow a lightweight low profile trailer for work , a spacetrailer that only weighs 550 pounds unladen and maybe 1500 pounds with all my tool. I had to do the transmission service every 15-20,000 miles because of the issue and then there is the stupid vcm which was problematic. And then many other things started to annoy me from the way to thin paint job, stupid acoustic windshield that chips way to easily like the paint, leather seat material way to thin and god forbid you put clothes in your trunk and drive down a logging road a couple miles the trunk will be full of dust. And why Honda advertises the trunk as a cooler is beyond me , it keeps food warm better versus cold. The ac doesn't blow cold enough when temps start hitting 100 outside nor does it blow warm enough when temps really start getting cold. And when one is driving down the Hwy one always has to have the fan on to get fresh air coming in without opening the windows. Yes the RL drives nice but it is way to complicated of a vehicle mechanically and requires way to much maintenance. Have a Tacoma now and I couldn't be happier. One less headache and I am sure if I would have kept the RL longer it would have turned into a migraine.

@fun2drive107

The push button and pull switch for the shifter replacement is not that great and will cause many errors until learned. Honda has just about the worst human computer interface to trying nav, change radio stations and a host of other simple features which other companies such as FCA kicks it's butt. Also the mileage on both of my 17 and 19 RTL-E increased once I hit 15-16K miles from 25 to 28 most of the time. The calculator in the Ridgeline is also optimistic. The doors opening wider in the rear is a huge positive change. I had to replace the door stoppers with Pilot versions which I assume these are. Just how many years was Honda going to continue with a substandard rear door opening and non lockable tail gate? Answer 4 years. I love the ride, mileage is OK not great and the usefulness is great for my application but again the ability to do simple things like radio tuning, nav is cumbersome and totally anti-Honda. They must have collaborated with Toyota which is just as bad as Honda. A few buttons for essential don't take your eyes off the road functions would make this greatly improved.

They are a top rated headlight from the IIHS. Better than the tacoma.

At least you can pass the Tacoma on the highway (Tacoma being underpowered and not sure what gear it wants to be in) and see in night with the LED headlights, I’ll give you the armrest though!

I would never buy it, because its not a real truck. Dont expect to tow or haul what the American trucks can haul. It may have the space but it is by no means capable. Also, Honda updated the infotainment screen size, but was too lazy to add a volume knob or a new infotainment system? Thats ridiculous. With that being said, it is a nice vehicle.
