I bought the 2019 S ABS In Stormcloud Blue last June 1st. I’m amazed I was able to put 4200 miles on it my first season even though working 60 hrs per week only rode while off work such as evenings. Just Love it. I went 35 years without a Bike. At 19 yrs old my dad paid me triple the value of my KZ400 to get me off of it because his best friends son got killed on his. Deal with dad lasted 35 years to never buy another bike. That deal ended a year ago when he passed. Maybe I’m dumb to get on one at almost 55 years old but first season I felt like the bike was part of me. So fluid, so easy to operate.

Hey, I'm glad you got the bike. I'm in a similar situation...haven't ridden in about the same length of time. I'm looking at the Vulcans (S or 900, I'm torn!) While I respect your Dad's concern, I love being on two wheels. You picked a beauty. I hope to get rolling again this summer. Got some family logistics to settle out first, but, I for one say "good for you!" Ride on! Ride safe!

Thanks for the ride. I am 70 years old and have owned many motorcycles since 1967. I just sold the LAST Harley I will ever own. I paid $37,000 for it and it broke down four times within the first year. I then sold it for $28,000. I'm going back to Japanese motrocylces and my choice is a Kawasaki Vulcan S. No more chug chug chug of a V-twin. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

I bought a black/gold 2020 Vulcan S three weeks ago, and I am in love. It just does everything well. Its great on the road. I wanna get a booster plug to smooth out the low rpms, an LED headlight, and some viking hard bags to carry stuff, but those are the only upgrades I can imagine wanting. Its plenty damn fast :)

I’m 72 years old. Sold my last bike, a Honda CB 360T about 25 years ago. Just bought my Kawasaki Vulcan S, ABS 2 1/2 weeks ago and I absolutely love it!!!!! I tried the Honda Rebel 500 but felt the extra power and fit of the Ergo-Fit system worth the extra money. By the way, I paid $600 for my first new Honda 350 in 1968. Just paid $600 for my new Shoei Neotec II helmet - how about that comparison! Just got my saddlebags, passenger seat & backrest plus luggage rack (all Kawasaki’s accessories) and I am even happier with this great bike. I’m in Colorado Springs and the trips around here are absolutely fantastic, both short and longer rides! Only downside is we just got another inch of snow yesterday however, God’s semi-instant snow removal (the Sun) will have it all gone in a day or so. By the way, I got a $500 discount via a “Kawasaki Kash” coupon that I got a couple months ago in Denver at a bit Motorcycle show. Also, Kawasaki honors all veterans with an additional $250 credit!

To those wondering whether or not this is a good bike for beginners here is my experience. I'm 29, 6'1" and this bike is a perfect fit for me. I never rode a motorcycle before in my life. Then I saw the Vulcan S for the first time and I was decided I needed that bike. It was love at first sight! After a few months of research I bought a black mat 2020 ABS model and learned how to ride with a friend. Always practicing on my Vulcan, I made sure to first feel comfortable enough on it which means to first master the balance while going thru corners and at the same time paying attention to what's ahead, so I would never go past the first/second gear. 70% use of the front break and 30% rear break. Take it easy on the throttle too. A few weeks later practicing everyday with my machine I felt confident enough to go ride on the streets facing traffic. Be patient and very cautious, and also take it easy when learning and then you'll soon put a large smile in your face. PS: I think my only complaint is regarding the rear shock which feels a bit hard when going thru pot holes (even small ones). I still haven't tried but I heard it is adjustable.

Thanks so much. I brought mine home yesterday. It’s been 15 or more years since my Sportster 1200. Now, the bug has bitten and I’ve looked and looked and I come upon this wonderful gem of a bike. I’m 67 now and I don’t ride like I used to. I’m doing a MC Safety for some much needed REFTRA. We are still bonding and I’m practicing practicing practicing because I know this machine is a very healthy little beast. You know how it is. The day after, I need validation and you deliver. Wish I had your great confidence. Love it, man. I’m getting there. Thanks for the video really enjoyed :-)

Hi. I an Sunny from India. Riding Royal Enfield bikes for last 23 years. Vulcan was the first bike which was launched in India in 2018 and I got it in March 2018. After that I sold all REs . I had 16 of them. Now I am keeping only Vulcan S since then. I am doing long rides for last 25 years and now I can say this is the best cruiser I have ever owned. I did high speed riding also at 185 kmph on it without any problems and it is confidence inspiring. Nice review.

I assume many people dismiss this bike as any other metric cruiser and they couldn’t be more wrong! The Yamaha Bolt is a Harley copy, this is not. The Vulcan S is one of the most fun to ride motorcycles I’ve ever ridden, regardless of category. I own a Versys 650, same engine, and it’s not as entertaining even if it handles better. I think it has something to do with the deep induction note and the sport bike power delivery that make for an unexpected and unique experience, plus it’s refined and not buzzy like older Kawasaki models using this engine.

I took my ‘16 to a track day and had a blast, the Vulcan was a bit to long, but so much fun throwing it into corners. I scraped an inch of metal off both pegs and took the OEM Dunlop’s right over. I started with the novices, but by the end of they day I was lapping under two minutes, putting me in with the advanced riders when I go back. It was my first bike at 44, two years later I feel like I’m on my bmx in the eighties. Such a nimble and quick bike, and looks so good, I’ve had friends call it beautiful when the first saw it. Underrated by those that don’t know. Peace brothers.

I always wanted a sports/cruiser crossover and almost went for this bike after passing my test on my Honda CB600F but for some reason decided a 50cc difference didn’t justify the time and expense of getting my full licence which is now a complicated expensive business in UK. So despite my friends thinking I was nuts I went straight up to the BIG bikes and bought a Suzuki M1800R Intruder. I don’t regret it, by riding with caution I’ve allowed myself to grow into it and now it’s second nature. But for some reason I’m still captivated by the Vulcan S. The bigger cruisers aren’t so practical to live with day to day, moving the M round the yard is hard work, you have to be careful how you park because you can’t push it backwards on a slope and with all that size & weight , cornering and braking need careful planning. Once you’ve committed yourself it doesn’t forgive you for changing your mind. So I’m thinking Vulcan S for a second bike for day to day use and keep the Intruder for longer rides out on the highways. I’m not into adrenalin-fuelled heroics on the road any more, and the Vulcan S looks fun, practical, comfortable and safe for a responsible rider. And a thing of beauty in my eyes.

I have a 2018 vulcan S with ABS . Stock and I love it , use it for commuting for school, great mpg and power delivery . After 5000 miles it felt like the bike woke up, yes it has a chain but its manageable. Commute on the Altamont between San joaquin and Alameda Counties. About 20 miles of pure splitting lanes and its nimble, responsive and engine breaking is perfect. Yeah no cruise or heated grips but its serves its purpose. Abs is awesome, handles the bumps great, wind is a killer out here but it is what it is .

I must say, I have owned this bike (2015 version) for four years, ridden it over 16,000 miles (LOVE it), and I never thought it was a long bike. But this video points it out, and so do some comments. It must be the case then, but let me tell you, this is built like a cruiser, but, in my opinion, it handles almost like a sport bike. It is an absolute thrill to ride. I highly HIGHLY recommend this bike if you're looking for a cruiser style bike with speed and handling that competes with a sport bike. It literally leaves me grinning ear to ear every single day. It's amazing. If anyone has specific questions about it I'd be happy to give my two cents.

21years on a Yamaha Vmax gen 1 - i still don't think anything can beat it for grin factor but, a love hate relationship and a lack of practicality forced me to part ways from it. I've had my 2021 Vulcan S 650 for 4 weeks and love it to bits. Its no Vmax but it is 10/10 in the aesthetics dept, 8/10 for comfort... (did a 5 hour ride and realised the seat needs to be upgraded for long rides), 10/10 for power (for a 650 cruiser) 10/10 for fuel consumption. 10/10 for price and i got it on 0% finance. Kawasaki UK really need to sort out the ergo-fit rules with their franchisees as some dealers are charging for non standard setup. This bike is easy on the eyes, smooth to ride, practical (once decent windshield and panniers are attached), and has enough power to get you out of trouble....or get you in trouble - depending on your riding style. Love it. Still have not tried 2up yet. It handles the twisties in Scotland surprisingly well. if you are thinking about this bike then get it.... i don't think there is any competition in its class.......well maybe the Yamaha BOLT... but these have sold very well since 2015 and that means second hand models, parts and aftermarket gear are going to be in abundance at affordable prices. Great video that i watched before i decided and your take on the bile was helpful in the decision making and accurate.....well maybe not about the seat comfort. Stay safe

I went from a 2009 Vulcan 900 Custom (in 2009, lost in an accident same year), to a 2016 Street Triple in 16, to a 2016 Tiger 800 XRt in 17, to add a 2019 Speed Triple RS, which I traded for a 2020 Speed Twin, which I traded for a...2020 Vulcan S? I get a lot of flack for these moves but I like what I like and this thing is awesome! I've ridden 70 bikes for my youtube series and for personal experience and it's still one of my favorite bikes of all time. The combo of the Tiger and the Vulcan is the best of the riding I do. Cruise and Tour/Commute. Can't beat it!

I love my Vulcan S and I've owned many bigger bikes. One thing to note is this bike is NEVER going to sound like a Harley. I think some people are disappointed by that from comments I see on facebook. It's a side by side twin and sounds more like a Triumph. These things are LOUD with an exhaust. Even with earplugs it can get old after a couple hundred miles.

It is worth mentioning that Vulcan S has a parallel-twin engine instead of a V-twin design, and therefore, it has very different control riding characteristics. When I go to very light throttle, it gets a slight vibration/shudder. Not really lugging motor and it will accelerate fine. The Vulcan S simply doesn’t like “light throttle “. It likes to be wound out and shifted around 5000 rpm. I wanted to shift at 2000 rpm and ride at 2500 to 3000 rpm and Vulcan S engine doesn’t like that (shudder and vibrate). I now shift at 4500 to 5000 rpm and cruise around 5000 rpm. It just takes some getting used to (for those who used to ride a V-twin bike).

Not a bad budget bike, the Vulcan. The disadvantages I see (positives after): *The Cons* 1. The chain - on cruisers you really want/need a low maintenance main drive like Honda cruisers have *shaft* drive/Harley's has *belt* drive. A chain on a no center-stand cruiser like the Vulcan is %(&$#! 2. It is looooonnnngg. A long bike you have to be very careful going over things like curbs, debris, obstacles, etc. Drain plug shearing is a thing and other damage so this longness is a disadvantage. 3. Luggage - cruisers unless they have special built blister are terrible for grocery shopping or finding a place to put your traveling gear/clothes - are not cruisers for cruising? Bonus: Get a windshield! Naked bikes NEED them & your life will change using a shield. *The Pros* 1. The price of $7,600 USD after taxes/setup/dealer fees, etc. is good for a 650cc - just don't finance. Pay for it in full to save. 2. It is Japanese and that means *_reliability._* So unlike BMWs & HARLEY DAVIDSON's this Kawasaki will work & work. Keep your feelings in check and learn the pluses/minuses of these types of bikes. In my view *_ALL bikes_* make you "smile from ear to ear". So relax take your time and find the right bike for you. If price is an issue - WAIT & SAVE UP, then buy. Do not get a bike if you don't have the money for. God bless

You realize 90% of people finance right? Yeah it might cost an additional 8-900 dollars over a 5 year period in interest but that’s really not that bad. Not many people have 8 grand to pull out of the bank like it’s nothing
@sweetcostarica
@sweetcostarica 4 жыл бұрын
@@WestBeachFLboy Sorry bro. I thought you knew how to do this. Here are the choices wise vs unwise: Do you finance at whatever % you pay more for the (additional $800-$900 USDs our case) motorcycle after 5 years Also, I have seen motorcycle crashed in the 1st year of ownership and the unwise fellow still has to pay the finance charges. VS If you save up and/or invest your money (right now is a great time to invest as prices are very low) for 5 years you pay no more and make money plus you get the latest year for the bike (5 year newer design) Not sure what the hurry is but the wise choice saves you money. God bless

Man not to hate, but it sounds like youre trying to tell other newer folks what they "need" on their motorcycle....chain maintenance isnt a problem if you arent a lazy-ass, and what are you talking about "cruisers arent good for luggage"?....no, its not an adventure bike with giant steel briefcases all over it....thats why most riders have cars too... "investing properly" and making sound financial decisions is not the spirit of riding that i wanna be involved in lol

Owner of a 2016 Vulcan S ABS...the seat gets rough after a long time. Recommend a Corbin seat upgrade if going a long distance. Air friction is high without a windshield (which I have for long rides), but fine for around town. Other than that, I HIGHLY recommend this bike. I look forward to riding it any chance I get, get lots of thumbs up while riding and the power is perfect for this kind of bike. A dream of a bike for the price (picked mine up for $5,200 with 600 miles).

I got a 2016 Vulcan s with 28.000 miles on! Long, far, rain, cold, hot rides on it This bike is amazing! plus no.. yes no mayor services (I only changed spark plugs and air filter so far and of course oil changes) Wanna be more comfortable? Get the passenger foot pegs and rest you feet back on those pegs... made my riding longer and my seating position more comfortable Oh! Maintenance is really easy Good video Sr! Keep posting ✌🏼🏍

Here in the UK the ABS just comes standard and there is no choice to not have it. We do have different grades to purchase the bike though. Standard is just that, standard. Performance comes with an Arrow Rebel exhaust and cafe racer windscreen. Touring which comes with a large windscreen, saddle bags and a passenger backrest. The Arrow Rebel exhaust really makes this bike great so I'm going to be getting the performance tier one when I do purchase one soon :) Then I have a few extra little bits to add and make this bike perfect.

I own the 2018 Vulcan S for 2 years and have ridden it milage 40,000km. This is one of best cruisers. Performance, smooth engine, reliable and reasonably priced. built to last. This engine loves 10W60 engine lubricant. Never pour in 10W40 like the owner's manual said, it is too thin to properly lub the engine. It can't withstand the performance enginee's high rev and temperature.

I have had my 2015 Vulcan S since 2018, with 1000 miles on it - now 30,000. Still going strong though I need to get a deep service done. I'd say it's telling the bike has remained the same since 2016 when they upgraded the gear shift return spring and added a gear indicator. I think everything else has been cosmetic. So the model has been unchanged for 7 years now!

docsunga 2001 cut the stock muffler off and use a slip on of your choice. It will need a slip on adapter welded on to the stock pipe but it way cheaper than buying a full system. Look up look up Vulcan s 4m sound on you tube. I’d did mine for less than $50 bucks.
