2020 PRIUS PRIME DIY DASH SPEAKER UPGRADE

The first video of my 2020 Toyota Prius build where I plan to completely upgrade the stereo system, add subwoofers, and make this thing look like a JDM masterpiece over the next few months! And I'm going to show you how to do it to your car too!

Tools needed:
10mm socket
Plastic pry tool
Wire crimpers or pliers
Wire stripper
Electrical tape
Scissors
Prius Dash speaker wiring:
Drivers side dash speaker: positive = Lavender/Pink ...Negative = Lavender/Violet
Passenger side: positive = Lavender/light green.... Negative = Lavender/blue

Metra 72-8110 is the adapter you need.

Are the front door speakers connected in series with the dash speakers? Because I removed the dash speakers and the front door speakers don't work even when I replace them. they just work.

I got those same speakers online only problem is my Prius is a 2015 so I’m hoping they fit just as good as they did in your Prius.

You can run the power wire from under the car ziptieing it all the way back then poke it through a drain plug up into the trunk

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work on my car. I believe in that section there’s a heads up display.

Which 6 1/2" speakers did you install for doors? Just for the record, I also ordered the kickers from crutchfield and they give you the connector for free to connect the speaker to the cars connector no need to splice at least for my 2017 prime. A no brainer. Will install myself next couple days when I have time.

I didn’t do the doors. But Crutchfield has exact matches with adaptors and instructions. It’s a bit of a big job to do unfortunately

Don’t use those taps vibrations will cause them to cut the wires in half or cause to other issues

Believe me. Those things are not getting loose. I could build a hammock in my backyard with these things to hold my weight.
