This build is probably the most perfect set up for my Sprinter. Thanks for uploading this video. I will check out Adventure Wagon. The basics of a good aluminum framed north to south bed and lots of track to add and customize any cabinetry or anchor points. I really dig the wheel well cubbies as well. Nice work!

Hi Aaron, I just finished the AW install on my 2020 Sprinter. You are correct, the B pillar piece is a little to long. I have the same issue. Other than that I am super happy with the Adventure Wagon. Especially their support is really amazing. 5 Stars. I did not know until I asked. They make a amazing rear door trim piece. Thank you for your review. Cheers.

Aaron thanks for the video. It is was full of great tips. I am awaiting for my Adventure Wagon Kit, due in late January. I have a Goal Zero 3000x and the integration kit from FreedomVanGo. Awesome setup! I am installing my AdWag kit right now. It's been great. Love your electricity setup. Do you happen to have a diagram for your wiring? I am trying to figure out an alternative to their instruction so I don't have to connect the harness to the seat base. Thank you
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
I do not have a diagram but its simple. All wires in the harness are long enough to reach the front or rear of the van if you center your fuse box in center of van on drivers side wall/floor just as I did. I would not mount under drivers seat as adwag does because you dont want to have to take the seat off to replace a fuse... which ive never had to do BTW. Good luck.

Hey Aaron. I’m installing my kit currently and I already finished my floor with the flatline van co step extension. Did you have trouble drilling and inserting rivnuts into the lower sliding door panel because of the step extension, even when the slider door is opened? What did you do?

No but its tight. I had enough room to place the drill and rib nut gun in shoe cubby space of the step.

Thanks for the vid. Been looking at this kit for a while. I love the fact that you identified some things that probably happened to everybody that installs the kit. it’s not perfect and we’re not professional installers. The question I have is are you happy with the electrical system that you’ve installed. I’m on the fence of installing lithium batteries in my van or just going with an Eco flow 2000 with a fuse panel to run all of the electrical items in the van. What are your thoughts? Another question I have is does that bed go up high enough that you could fit a dirtbike motorcycle underneath it and still sleep on top? Thanks again
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
I could not be happier with the electrical system. It’s low profile, maintainable, safe, and reliable. As for the bed, yes, you can easily raise to put a dirt bike below.

Hey Aaron, I really like your setup. I’m planning on following what you e done for the most part. What was the first thing you installed? Maxxair fan or floor? Did the AW kit come with enough insulation or did you add more? Would you have changed anything now that you have it all setup? Thanks for your help!

The first thing was maxxair fan and windows. After that, I installed the seat, then removed the seat to install floor. After floor was sound mat and then insulation.

This is a great help for us that are building and adventure rig not an RV. Couple of questions, what was your thought on not putting the heater under the passenger seat? Did you start with a cargo van or crew van?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
Thx. I wanted the aux heater to kick out in the center and rear of the van for two reasons. 1- there is no heat source in the rear from factory. 2- I wanted to blow hot air in the rear on the floor to keep things dry during winter months as skis are in /out a lot. Additionally, its a much cleaner install and the compartment under passenger seat is valuable storage for other things.

Really enjoyed your walk-thru and looks like you did a great job on the build. Picked up some great ideas from you like the shoe cubby underneath the floor extension and headliner shelf - so thank you. I'm building out my rig/kit list now and curious to hear your thoughts on the floor covering you chose. Is that the Loncoin Flecks II (onyx color)? If so, would you go with the onyx again or maybe a lighter color to show less dirt? Black looks great, particularly with the black hex lower wall panel, but think I'm leaning towards a grey-ish Loncoin floor color. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 3 жыл бұрын
Thx. I chose the black loncoin with a thin layer of felt on botton side. It helps with dampening and insulation. I prefer the black over gray because it blends in with the stock floor colors like mats, step etc.

@@crowdtastic I like the smart floor setup as well but i think it does not work with the sprinter OEM bench seats? (please let me know if that's the not the case) and they quite expensive since they don't allow you to DIY project due to safety reasons.

You think there would be enough room for the flatline 24in fridge setup behind the seat on the driver side if you moved that cubby box back?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is enough floor space for sure but the bed would hang over it as is. Some people have gone with a shorter custom bed to make room in that area to access...easy if you get flare spaces and sleep the other way.

I like the heater location. I think I will copy your Idea! I have an auxilary battery under the passenger seat. Do you take power for the espar from the goal zero?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 1500x GZ powers the Espar 12v perfectly. Ive ran for 6hrs straight and dropped about 10% battery. Dont see any power loss with all lights, heater on while charging accessories. Next test will be doing that all over again with a fridge plugged in.
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 3 жыл бұрын
yes, espar 12v pulls very little power. The GZ 1500x is perfect for it. Heater location is excellent. Really spreads the heat out well and i like the idea of blasting heat back there to keep things dry from winter sports crap.

Not a big fan of the Adventure Wagon kit. Watched their install video. it’s very complicated to install even for them and there was one part where it seemed they essentially said you’ll just have to figure this part out for yourself. Did you pay $1300 for that pneumatic riv nut machine to install yours. I’ve got a cheapo manual one from Amazon and it’s a pain in the ass and came with poor instructions so I had to have my friend figure out how just to change Mandrels (My ChineEnglish is not good) and I ended up over crimping and bending the mandrel and the riv nut. I’m curious what professional installers charge to install it. I bet it’s not cheap. How long did it take you or maybe that’s in the part of the video I haven’t watched yet.

Great build! I’m curious how your van started out. Was it a cargo or crew? I noticed that you have aftermarket windows too. I’m debating which way to go. I guess a cargo makes more sense and then you can put in your own style windows and not waste the stock crew windows and headliner. Those bench seats can also be found easily from people looking to sell them.

@@crowdtastic Thanks so much for these videos! Curious if you like your window configuration. Do you like the fan in the bunk w/o windows? I was originally thinking about putting the fan in the front and small sliders in the bunk. Also, do you like the full middle row windows? I keep going back and forth on those wrt privacy. Thanks!
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 9 ай бұрын
@@marktaylor2754 im glad I do not have windows in the rear doors or rear sides. It helps control the temp of the van better, less shit to break or leak, and less risk of someone breaking in. I like the fan above the bed because it pulls in/out a nice breeze and offers a bit of light. I have an insulated cover if I want to black it out or if it's really cold. I have the cr Laurence windows on the side and love that they pop out (open during rain) as opposed to slide. The only downfall with those is that my sone and wife over tighten the handle to open close so ive replaced gear boxes on both sides already.

Thanks! I like that idea. Did you install the middle row windows yourself? Cutting for the windows is something I'm a little hesitant about, although I see many online who did it. Also, do you like the 3 row seat? I have two kids, age 11 and 14, but they're adult size. I was looking at the 2 person bench which folds out of the way but it does look a bit tight. Thank you!

I did not cut the windows but I would have. Window installs are pretty easy actually. I dont love the 3 person bench seat. I have one kid back there (age 6 now) who does not mind it but the older and bigger you are, the more uncomfortable the bench seat is. I may replace it with a reclining one. Why not put the heater under the passenger seat. I see them over there alot..
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 3 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of people do that as well and I also see a lot of shitty van builds out there where people just do what others do and dont think about better options/design. I am not a fan of putting the heater under the passenger seat for 3 reasons. 1. I don't need to blow hot air in the front of the van. I already have heat in dash and floor up there IF needed. 2. I want the blow hot air in the rear of the van to help dry the floor/garage during winter months AND to warm the bed and passenger seat from the ground up, thus being the most effective heat placement. 3. The install (fuel line and pump) is much more protected in its current location compared to that of the passenger seat placement AND i wanted to exhaust at the rea of the van, not front or center.

That was what I had in mind since I have absolutely zero skills in that department. But if that’s what it’ll cost for the install I have to rethink things over. The Adventure Wagon kit is awesome.
