Tip, after breaking the plug loose, leave just the Allen socket in the plug and turn it until it comes out. You’ll have much better control over the plug and won’t spill oil everywhere.

Check the package label. Don't use GL 5 in manual trans and the transfer case. It will attack brass synchronizers. Yellow flakes. Use GL 4 only. GL 5 is for hypoid gears in axle differentials.

I went to the stealership yesterday. The parts guys told me it was 100 bucks for 6 quarts of the toyota 75w85. In the shop they use Mobil 1 in bulk 75 w 90. They also said 75w90 for front diff transfer case manual trans and 80w90 for the rear. But if it calls for 75 w85 then 75 w90 would work. As long as its GL5

2019 4x4 TRD off road with 20,000 miles....yeah...I don't drive it very much, do I have to do this even if I NEVER used the 4 x 4? I think I used it once for 5 minutes but that was it. We didn't get enough snow in the last 3 years and I don't do off roading.

Yes at your 30k or 2-3year mark I forget what the repair reference says. And as a low mileage Tacoma also I would recommend doing your oil ever 6 months or 5-7k which ever comes first, yes that seems early and a “waste” but it’s cheap insurance to ensure that your engine doesn’t have issues later on.

If your trucks new I would do the rear after breaking in. Maybe after the first 1000 to 5000 miles. Add a full synthetic like amsoil or ravenol. I did both Tacomas at 15k miles, an I did my tundra at 15k miles. Now I'm going to replace fluids every 20k-30k . I plan on. Keeping this tundra forever. You'll notice the rear diff will be the dirtiest. I'd do it every 30k if you're keeping the truck a long time. And sooner if off roading, you and there could be water intrusion. Sooner if you're towing a lot as well.
