OC: I love the retro styling Triumph puts into their bikes. Having owned a Bonneville. I'm a fan of the style and riding characteristics. Absolutely perfect for getting about in the city. The time on the Bonneville is the reason I'm still riding a Triumph. The linear power delivery is incredible and why I love my Daytona. The retro look might not be for everyone, but the look is timeless.

Is it as brutal on the highway as he says? Everyone is different of course but just looking for another opinion.
@VanBlamm3 жыл бұрын
@@kish-river I personally am not very sensitive to wind blast, so I find it to be totally fine. Things do start to feel turbulent at 90+, but sustaining 80 for a couple hours is not bad at all. 70 is the sweet spot if you need to be on the highway all day. It loses that ballistic missile acceleration once you get above 80, but still has ample passing power up to about 100.

OC : I literally just bought this exact bike. It's pretty sweet and compliments my Street Triple nicely! I'm 5'8" 30" inseam... same issue with seeing the turn signal indicators... need to be brighter Highly suggest adding adjustable suspension! Front can be done for under $200, rears for $350-$1200 depending on your budget. Changes the whole feel of the bike. Picked mine up brand new for $10k.

@@Spartansrule118 definitely because of the wind protection. Since my comment though, I installed a dart fly screen classic. It has made a huge difference on the highway. For me I’m 5’8, it takes away about 50% of the wind. Makes it comfortable on the highway now

OC: Really love the grunt of a twin. Triumph makes so many of these parallel twins though, it feels like Suzuki's lineup with a couple different letters making a "new" model. Also, this Speed Twin is so different from a Speed Triple, I don't know how Triumph wants to fit this bike in the Speed line.
@MattNeighbour3 жыл бұрын
Speed denotes over 1000cc, Street means less than 1000cc like both the Street Triple and Street Twin. The triples are modern roadsters and the twins are retro classics.

It's here! I like my bikes low revving, thank you very much for asking. Haha! I own one in Silver Ice/ Storm Grey, and yes it does feel pretty comfortable riding around town. Another thing I found, though, is that in the twisties it does pretty well, but it could do better with upgraded suspension. It does feel a bit soft. And yes, they should have angled the dash better. As always, nice vid!

OC . . . I've got a Yamaha MT-03 that I've had since last year, and I absolutely loved it at first. I just actually came back from a trip where I rode 200 miles to go camping, about another 100 while I was there, and another 200 to get home (avoiding highways and taking the scenic back route, of course). Having said that, I'm thinking my next move up will be something like the Triumph Street Twin. I feel like the lower revs and torque for around town and shorter trips like that is where it's at. No big plans to do insane major distance riding as of now.

OC: I test rode a Bobber and Thruxton R a few years ago with this 1200cc engine in them. Neither were bad bikes and the fit and finish was premium. While the Thruxton was more enjoyable to me than the Bobber, I ended up viewing both of them as more secondary, around town bikes which I wasn't in the market for. I gave them a shot but I'm into higher revving bikes that lean towards the sport end of the spectrum.
