Holy cow!! I've been hunting Wisconsin since 1975 never missed an opening day and I have never once seen anything like that. You saw more bucks @ one time then I see in 3 years of rifle hunting. You had more deer around you @ one time than I saw in the entire gun season. Absolutely incredible and great video. Thank you.

I have gone a few years in a row in that same stand without seeing a buck. One of the doe that came through was hot, of the 12 deer that were in the group, all 5 bucks went where she did, a few of the other doe broke off and went another direction. There was plenty of shooting from the neighbors a few minutes later.

I leave my hunting clothing outside (benefit of living in the country) after I was it in scent away, never wear my hunting clothing in my vehicle (keep my hunting clothing in a sealed Remington tote), and spray down after I get dressed. I also play the wind, and try to never breathe out of my mouth if deer are in the area. During bow hunting, I even bring an apple or two and take a bite to mask my breathe when deer are in the area.

I hunt in Jackson Co. too. We practice a hybrid model of Quality Deer Mgmt. (No small bucks harvested and adult does only. But we'll shoot a wounded deer.) Is that what you do on your property? We harvest the adult does and, if there's a buck, we have to mount it. Great footage. I am that much more excited for hunting this year as we've made some land improvements. ;)
@ryanhuseboe11773 жыл бұрын
Darren, I shot a really nice buck bow hunting, so I wasn't going to shoot a buck during gun season unless it was as big or bigger than my bow buck. I didn't take a doe at that time either, as I was holding out in hopes of a monster eight we had on camera. I had the T zone hunt for a doe anyway, which is when I took one. I'm not one to shoot more deer than I need, so it was just my bow buck and T zone deer this year. We do practice QDM, those monster bucks really get the blood pumping!

I shot a really nice buck bowhunting, so opening weekend it's waiting on a buck, and it had to be bigger than my bow buck. Being I had to work Monday through Wednesday, I didn't have the time to process a doe, so I usually wait till Thanksgiving or after. I took a doe during the T Zone hunt. There are so many deer around here that seeing them usually isn't an issue.

Are your windows tinted or mirrored? How in the world they didn’t spot you moving around that much that close is crazy. Even with low pressure hunting
@ryanhuseboe11773 жыл бұрын
The windows are tinted. My father in law pretty much copied the Shadow Hunter blinds when he built ours (he's a Craftsman by trade).
@ryanhuseboe11773 жыл бұрын
I did have two open though. Whenever I see/hear deer coming (whether I'm gun hunting or bow), I always have a gator on, never ever breath through my mouth, and don't move unless I'm 100% certain I won't get busted. I also practice scent Management by showering in scent free, always keeping my clothes outside in a sealed tote, and of course on top of that, still play the wind (unless I'm in a blind like this, normally I'm 30 ft up).
@jennaalbert10313 жыл бұрын
I thought same thing, I would have been busted by at least half of those deer...incredible. good job!
