Hello Just wanted to share if you have change a new battery , its a good Idea to get your Alternator Checked, Even though it will start your Honda, the Old alternator wouldn't get the battery charge enough that pretty soon your back to square one. Had the same problem but was given advise by Road warrior on the Interstate . To get The alternator change, even a new remanufactured one. Works fine now. Stay Safe enjoyed your travels.

We were going to go to Alaska this summer with a bunch of other RV you tubers but put it off until 2022 because of the pandemic. We dont want to drag our 35 foot fifth wheel there because it will get destroyed. We are planning on putting a truck Camper on the Dually truck we use to pull our fifth wheel, and parking the Fifth wheel for the summer. We will be watching your adventure this summer for tips for next summer. I love the air horn bear warning, we are used to Florida bears which are not dangerous. We have a robust internet set up with directional antennas for getting signal in challenging areas. You have the travel vlogging down, we mostly do campground tours and RV diy projects, we tried the vlogging thing but it does not come naturally to us like you guys. How do you have the time to make videos and have jobs? Larry

Last vid you made ref to no gas station data use GasBuddy app on Cell has all stations in eastern Canada and US so I'm guessing it's good in west too
@NewstateNomads
@NewstateNomads 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Robert, and we definitely use Gas Buddy where possible. The major issue is connectivity in some of these remote locations (complete lack of connection to be honest) that makes Gas Buddy unusable unless you are researching far in advance. Additionally, there is the added complexity that several key stretches do not have a 24 hour gas station along the route. Thats why we rely so much on that single page gas/camping guide from the Alaska Highway visitors center so much. Maybe someday GasBuddy will offer an offline mode? -Howard

I lived in AK 30 years and have driven the Tok Cut Off many times and I think this year, it is the best. They have done a lot of work on the road. Between the border and Tok is the absolute worst road in the United States. That’s the road you should comment on, how was that portion?
@NewstateNomads
@NewstateNomads 3 жыл бұрын
Timothy, great point about the road from the border to Tok. Even between our last trip in 2019 and now, they've made a lot of progress on that section. It looked freshly paved for large portions, but wow the first few miles past the border are a rollercoaster (road leaning left and quickly to the right, frost heaves, potholes, etc). I remarked to Katelyn that it seems like that section must have a restriction (maybe land ownership?) that precludes major work near the border. Any insight into why that part is seemingly ignored? Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
@BlitzAlaska
@BlitzAlaska 2 жыл бұрын
The stretch from Destruction Bay to the border was insanely bad as of June of 21. We ripped off the drain valves on the camper going over huge frost heaves. It gets the worse the closer you get to the US border, then gets much better, but not great. Don't let your guard down until you get to Tok, but still be careful. The Tok cutoff wasn't great if you are going to Anchorage. Alaska DOT was out there paving, where as Yukon seems to be on extended covid leave or something. It was clear no work had been done in 2021. Maybe next year.
