2021 Chevy Tahoe High Country - Big, Bold, and Refined
For 2021 the LS, LT, and Premier models continue with the addition of the RST and Z71 as their own stand-alone trim levels. The High County is now the new top-end trim level.
MSRP for the New 2021 Chevy Tahoe Starts at $50,295 for the LS trim up to an estimated $73,995 for the High-Country Trim.
This is the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country
The standard base engine on the LS, LT, Z71, RST, and Premier models is the 355-hp, 383-lb-ft
5.3-liter V-8.
The 420-hp, 460-lb-ft of torque 6.2-liter V-8 is standard on the High Country. Both carryover engines have replaced the active fuel management system of the outgoing model with Dynamic Fuel Management technology that can shut down all cylinders and use more than 12 modes of cylinder deactivation. The engines also have automatic start-stop technology.
There is an optional Duramax 3.0-liter I-6 turbodiesel available on all but the Z71. It produces 277 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque.
All models are Driven with a 10-speed automatic transmission

Yep. We had an ex police Tahoe for years. Had around 310k when we sold it and everything worked. Repairs were just regular wear and tear suspension components all of which I replaced myself. Only thing a shop did was the alignment.

Jonathan They should last longer. The bugs with the 5.3 (collapsed lifters, oil burning, etc.) have been worked out long ago. I’d stick with the entry level trims for the best reliability and price. The 4wd LS can be had in the high 40s out the door, which is actually a bargain.

Wow, I’ve been watching videos on the new Escalades and Yukon’s and I just gotta day, GM really stepped up its game. Glad they finally got back in the playing field ready to compete. Can’t believe it took so many years to get a panoramic roof and bigger screens. Not that I really cared about screen size in anything, just made me kinda feel like they really took a backseat on some of their design choices in their past couple generations luxury vehicles. I’m a GM fanboy and I even thought a lot of their past design choices were quite a bit lackluster when compared to a trimmed out RAM or a trimmed out Expedition. Now all I have to do is wait about 6 years when I can actually afford one lol, hopefully all that tech is getting more durable and lasting longer now. We have a 2008 Escalade ESV with 200k+ miles and that thing has definitely seen better days. Really surprised me that a High Country/Denali now has more options than an Escalade from 12 years ago.

I remember when I was in high school I was messing around building a 2012 Duramax 3500 LTZ, all spect out and it was over $70k at the time. There is definitely a lot more technology going into vehicles these days, with all the creature comforts and drivetrain management options. The prices haven’t really changed all that much in my opinion. Just more options. A trimmed out LT today would still have more options than an LTZ or High Country from a few years ago.

MrDjmurdock Not really. Tahoes started in the low 30s 25 years ago, now it’s in the low 50s. Everything else has doubled or more including wages. They last longer, interest rates are lower, and loans are longer. They are actually a bargain. The technology is amazing even on the LS.

I like the new body lines and especially the independent rear suspension that frees up more interior room. Still not a big fan of their dash layout and I don’t like any push button gear selectors. Thanks for watching

That's a beautiful rig. Looks like they finally have something that reasonably approximates a flat load floor again, at least with a middle bench seat option. I still have my 2002 Tahoe LS 4x4 which I bought new, with second row bench. 345,000 miles on the original 5.3 engine and transmission. Cloth seats still like new; they're aging better than the leather in my newer 2004 Sierra Quadrasteer and maybe even my 2016 2500HD LTZ Duramax. Granted, I had to physically remove the third row seats, but with the second row folded down, I have a perfectly flat load floor (excellent for my large dogs) essentially up to the back of the front seat. I was disappointed with the 2007 and 2015 models because the load floors had gaps, inclines, and other contrivances which hindered usability for dogs, etc. The only thing missing on the newest 2021's is the front 40/20/40 bench...perfect for my chihuahua to ride in between driver and passenger in my '02!

The third row leg room, and cargo space is a much needed improvement. I banged my head looking in the back of the 2020. I was not comfortable in the third row either.

The third row area in the 2021 is vastly improved. It’s still basically a place for kids on long road trips, but at least now you can fit bigger teenagers back there comfortably. Thanks for watching

I like it! with your electronics reviews/ infotainment reviews be sure to include the android or ios app in your videos. lots of neat features in the apps from most manufacturers. tire pressures, car starting, window roll down etc etc. be sure whether to include whether the app is free or requires a subscription.

Now, i loved the way this truck is...on the outside it's awesome to me...Chevy lost me when at the 8:51 mark when Nate showed the gear buttons...i just couldn't stomach that....what the hell is that now...BUTTONS ....????

It is really beautiful design for GM. I am gonna by it for usage in Ukraine. I loved in GM products & this brand mostly durable,repairable & not capricious for gasoline with average or bad quality.

Design seems fantastic. Yet I'll hold on approval until it comes out. So far I do not like the cluster of control buttons on left of steering wheel too many too close. Also the glove compartment ? no felt lining? That's gonna be the source of your first rattling noise. Some one got tired in the final stage. Let's see how much it'll stay riding and how much in the shop.

Well cover the new Suburban as soon as our local dealer has one in stock. We’re first on his list. The Premier is priced about $7k less than the High Country. For the difference you get Stitched Leather Seat Logos and exterior High Country Logos. Of course there’s other amenities but early information is still lacking complete details. Thanks for watching

Did I miss you talk about a button to fold the side mirrors in? Or is this feature not included? One of my garages is narrow. Very important feature. What happened?

Thanks for the question. The mirrors on the LT and Premium levels can be manually folded in. Seems like no power folding options are available according to Chevys website. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

One thing i dont understand is that why doesn't General motors put a grab handle on both the drivers and passenger side pillars? They should consider it, because some drivers are short and therefore a drivers side handle is needed.

I don't remember it the passenger front seat was moved all the way back or not. I was sitting it in prior to Nate going to the second row, I'm 5'11" and had the front seat set for my comfort.

GM screwed up the new Escalade. It looks like another trim level of the Tahoe It doesn't look better, or more expensive It lost its swag. Great interior, but people don't buy 'Slades for the interior

I have to agree. The Tahoe/Suburban look like bigger Traverse, and that’s not a bad thing. I happen to think the Traverse is a sharp looking vehicle. Unfortunately the Caddy Escalade uses mostly the same body panels so yeah, it looks like another Chevy. Thanks for watching

The new line of full-size GM SUVs will feature an available power-sliding center console. It can slide forward and back up to 10 inches, with different positions serving different purposes. Unfortunately this display model wasn't powered so we couldn't show you that feature. Thanks for watching

I like it more than the new Escalade. The new Escalade seems like it's trying too hard...over the top. High Country is big and bold without being gaudy.

I talked to both GMC and Chevrolet the other day and they have ramped up production again but are focusing on trucks at this time. They told me to expect the release to be around September rather than July as had been originally planned. Thanks for watching!

Seems like GM can’t get the high country right brand right. Still just seems like a truck with leather and a sunroof. This doesn’t come close to the feel that Laramie Longhorn has, heck even the Denali brand seems or sounds more luxury.

What powers it when all cylinders are deactivated?

All cylinders can be deactivated, meaning that previous engines only deactivated certain cylinders. The system now can deactivate any cylinder. Didn’t mean to imply that at any time all cylinders would shut down...although I guess it could happen if you were coasting to a stop or going down hill. Thanks for watching

There are power plus heated mirrors with manual folding as standard on all trim levels. The premier adds integrated turn signals and auto dimming on drivers side mirror. You can get power folding mirrors on the LT trim level if you opt for the “luxury package”. They do not list power folding mirrors as an option on the premier which makes no sense at all. My guess is you can but best to check with a dealer as the Chevy website does not list it any where I can see. Hope that helps Thanks for watching!

All mirrors fold in every trim level when the vehicle is locked and when it’s unlocked they unfold go watch everyone else’s videos as well for more info. Lexus has been doing that for years

For $1350 a month it’s yours and that’s with good credit of an 8 unless you putting down $30,000 then you may get it monthly for $800 I love it but not for $52,000 and most definitely not for $80,000 that’s crazy unless you’re rich and just don’t have anything to do with your money.
