That’s mean the Ford with 100 thousand of miles is getting old. Compared to BMW or Mercedes with 100.000 of miles is nothing.

There's many factors that many people don't think about, such as inflation, R&D, technology, among other things. Even the so-called "standard" technology on an XL or XLT model of today was optional on a Lariat, even 5 odd years ago depending on what it is.

Come on you think some nice features will make the truck 10k dollars more expensive? The F150 sells like a hot cake and buyers are willing to pay more for truck and car manufacturers know that . It's about profit nothing more .

@@texastravelers210 it definitely raises the price. more bells and whistles is an increased manufacturing cost which gets passed onto the buyer. imagine how cheap vehicles would be if they didnt have LCD screens, LCD gauges, blind spot detection, automatic cruise control, parking cameras and sensors, auto start stop, heated and cooled seats, 10 way adjustable seats, the list goes on and on.

@@CallOfDutyInsider I'm good with basic equipment. Simple radio with a bluetooth connection and standard features that's all. I'm not going to live in the truck . What keeps my blood pressure up is if want to upgrade to nicer rims then it says you can only do that with adding package x and so on. That's what I call money making .

I hate LCD touch screens, they hurt my eyes especially at night and why would I want to go into 5 menus to turn on my climate control? a simple button does just fine. But in your case you can always buy wheels and tires from a third party that way you get the aesthetic you want without the hefty price tag

It doesn't if you get RWD only and a single cab. These being 4x4 and crew cab is a major price increase alone plus the engine.

My buddy got a brand new F-150 completely base model, white, work truck, single cab with the sport package for around $27k. They don’t exceed 30k if you don’t need a crew cab and 4x4 with a V8.

Give it a year and these same trucks will have that 10k rebate as well. But I do agree , those prices are nuts .

Its a trim level now as you can see in the video the badge on the fender it says F-150 STX as were its a trim.

You can.. just not from Ford. Ford screwed up the relaunch of the explorer a year back and their stock is half what it was so this is a profit grab to “right the ship.” Guaranteed that these trucks are selling for less by next summer because the f150 keeps that company in business. If the market balks at that price (and it will) they will be forced to drop price.

@G hrvyck No... there was a relaunch for the 2019/2020 model where the lowest priced 6 cylinder is right around $50K. To put a 4 cylinder in a 4,800 pound SUV is laughable, and I'm already reading consumer reviews showing that turbo is breaking down prematurely just for that reason. At $50K, you are far better off buying the next class up of SUV like the Chevy Tahoe. (or buying the traverse for $15K less) Pretty much every mid sized SUV (traverse, Durango, Murano, highlander, palisade, Telluride, etc.) starts in the low to mid $30s and comes with a 6 cylinder engine. If you buy a 4 cylinder explorer, YOU are buying a "comfy grocery-getter" that will cost you a lot of money to repair when the rest of those above mentioned SUVs are just getting broken in. The reason why Ford (and others) finally started building better cars in the late 80s/early 90s is they got their asses kicked by the Japanese car makers. Don't be a blind loyalist to their brand or they will be happy selling you overpriced, under-sped'd vehicles for the rest of your life. BTW... the traverse is made in Lansing... The Durango is also made in Michigan... and the Highlander is made in Indiana. So you don't have the "made in America" advantage, and the explorer is over-priced AND under-powered. Please tell me why again this is the best choice for a mid-sized SUV??

Then you can hear him talk about how that NEW explorer NOW uses a 4 cylinder engine which wasn't the case for the previous generations of that model. The fact that you worked there and used their stock buying program doesn't change the reality that you are wrong. About something, frankly you SHOULDN'T be wrong about... simply because you have blind loyalty to the brand. Their stock went from $14 after the recession and now is trading at half that when the market has been jamming for the last several years. (and has recovered from the drop 9 months ago) This is about taking advantage of the brand to sell under-powered and (if you read the reviews) poorly designed and assembled explorers so they have good profit quarters in 2021.

Yeah I messed up and bought an XL last year, supercrew 4x4, 5.0. it has everything I need, EXCEPT when I test drove it I didn't even realize it didn't have cruise control because I've never even heard of a new vehicle in this day and age without cruise. It's a really scummy move by Ford to sneak it into a package, and it's not like the past generations where you could swap the steering wheel, it's a separate module with the adaptive cruise. had to spend like $500 to have a rostra installed at the dealer.

wrong. i ordered a 22 XL 4x4. 5.0. 3.73 locker. FX4. 101A. chrome appearance. trailer and plow prep. running boards. brake controller, sync4 w/enhanced voice. spray in liner. loaded. 40k including delivery. plus any rebate at the time of delivery.

Definitely...I got my 2020 for over 12k off msrp. If i were in the market for a truck, I'd wait until a year from now to buy a '21 when they are old news and discounted heavily. Some people like to blow their $$$ on the latest and greatest though lol

I agree. Did you see the plastic shake of that top glove box? At about 40,000 mikes it'll be rattling. On top of that, you'll have to drop about 6 grand to fix the cam phaser problems if you go with the Ecoboost based on the research I've done. If you chose the 5.0, you get to put oil in it regularly. Seems like the consume oil after the 2018 upgrades. Oh, and I've also read the new 10 speed transmission is a joint venture with GM. If I could buy a new F150, it would be a 1975 version. Nice solid steel cab and dash.

I really love my 2004 Lariat. No plans on replacing it either.

I had a 2008 FX4 with the max tow package that was a really solid truck. No problems with the 5.4L engine. These look really cheaply put together. Seems like every redesign the seats get more and more uncomfortable. 1999-2007 Lariat Super-Duties have the most comfortable seats. My F-350 is so comfortable I could drive it coast to coast nonstop.

If you don't require 4wd for your daily driver as I do in the winter, or foresee getting stuck, stick with 2wd, one less thing to break. But when you get into winter conditions it can save you a ton of cold and hassle. It's only good for getting you 1/8 mile further stuck otherwise.

@@bullymaguire4457 Well everyone is entitled to their opinions. Personally I prefer Ram, but to get a Cummins in a loaded Ram 2500 was way more than I wanted to spend. I settled for the Nissan, and I gotta say, they didn’t promote the Titan well enough. The truck is strong and has is very comfortable. It’s also way better looking than a Silverado.

I've had three older F150's. On my fourth. A 2016 5.0. I loved my trucks with the old 5.0 and 300 straight six but the build quality is far superior on my 16. No comparison. I think people always look at older as just better. Not always the case. They were pretty plasticy back in the 90's. Yeah I know some of the 2018 and up 5.0's have some oil consumption issues but the 3.5 is actually a damn good motor. Probably the best V6 they ever made. Tons of them with high mileage and few issues. And I've never been a fan of V6's.

Because of how it was optioned out. There is the option for vinyl, which is still better than cloth.

I’d just go for a used 2016-17 Platinum or King Ranch personally. Feels like a much better deal.

I've been looking at XLT and Lariat. Obviously depends on how you option it out and what package you pick 300a 301a, 302a. I've been seeing 52k all the way over 60k!

Literally the cheapest new f150 you can get thats a crew cab is gonna be 38.9k, an XLT Crew Cab 4wd with the 2.7 is gonna run around 47.3k

Just bought a leftover '18 XLT with a 3.5 for 43k.

I paid 27k recently for a 2020 XL, scab, 4x4, 2.7 vinyl interior with tow and payload packages. Someone else had returned it after 24h and it had 120 miles on it. 46k seems ridiculous, I was being quoted Lariats in that price range.
