In the video I review a 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special FLTRXS built by Timms Harley Davidson. This bike has all of the most common upgrades that I see Harley customers do. I give the parts and labor breakdown for each part. I also do a test ride on the bike.

I just wanted to thank Bill Langston for doing a amazing job! I know I’m going to enjoy it for years to come. I’ve known Bill for around 10 years he’s always taking pride in his builds that’s why I went to him because I know it’s going to get done right. Thanks again brother! And a shout out to Blair Snipes thanks for a awesome video! And thanks to Cody and Timm’s Harley Davidson!

they absolutely should use the chrome front end. costs them pennies compared to adding it later. HD has been doing a LOT of the detail cost cutting lately, and it's going to catch up with them. attention to detail, fit and finish IS the brand you're right about the low backrest too. I keep one on my bike, even with no passenger. it balances the look I think

Absolutely. That’s what sets them apart from everyone else. If they lose that but keep the prices the same, why pay that premium?

Nice build. Mentioned that the customer lives in Las Vegas area. I'm in So. Cal. To address "Heat Mgmt.", I'd recommend add the following: 1. Fan (Thundermax or new Harley piece) for the oil cooler, & dealership enables the ECM. 2. (Optional)...Harley rear cylinder fan. Tom M., Hawthorne Ca. 2020 SGS 117-Stage-4, SE High flow Exhaust System, Thundermax Fan added to oil cooler, Harley rear cylinder Fan, Rockford-Fosgate-Harley Stage-2 Boom Audio (4-speaker; 2 in Lids), full Legend Suspension (REvo-A rear / Axeo front), Both Harley Tuners (18mm wide band O2 sensors), Fueling Vented Billet Oil Stick (ventilate crankcase) & of course SirrusXM added to audio system. 2021 CVO Street Glide (purchased August 2021): Harley Fan added to oil cooler & Trask Ventilated Transmission cover plate (to ventilate crankcase).

I just got a 21 roadglide limited. I watched your review of it and it was spot on. I really don't feel like I need to do much to this bike.I did add a heel shifter, my highway pegs, and I did a fueling vented dipstick. The 114 makes good power and I'm enjoying how smooth and quiet this bike is. I love the Android auto, still playing around with it.

First time visiting your channel, thank you very much. It’s refreshing to see a dealership that lays out their prices like this, leaves the impression that Tim’s is an honorable and fair dealership to purchase from. Prices change for many reasons but very warming to be so completely upfront. Based on this, and though you are a ways from me, I will reach out as I want the CVO RG. All around great video and you lay everything in a comforting way. Be well and ride safe.

Thanks. Yeah I thought including prices of parts and labor was a must. To really get a good idea if you'd want to do some of these things to your bike, you need to know what it all cost! Appreciate the kind words. Let Timms know you're a viewer and they will take great care of you.

@@throttleblip9854 Same here. I went with the 14" KST Kustoms Spearheads on my 21CVO RG. They are a 3 piece setup so you can pull/ rotate the grip ends in or out to change the overall width. The most comfortable bars I've ever done.
@MrAndrew1953

Those bars look very stylish and strong. I’m five foot eight so I don’t know if they’d suit me in terms of shoulder height but the style looks right. Screen looks low in terms of providing enough wind and rain protection. I’d opt for something taller in bad weather. Speakers in the fairing would be adequate for my liking as most of the time a 56 litre Givi top box is all I have on my bike. It’s never been off since I bought it. It’s very handy and doesn’t get in the way filtering through traffic. Chin mounted camera gives a good view. Some people add stalk cameras for extra shots. I think a half hour review is tops for me as in 28mins, preferring most of it out on the road. A short walk around at the start. 10-20 kays on the highway is good with most bikes since that’s what Harley cruiser/baggers are built for. A Sport Glide with a stage 2/3 kit would be my idea of a Harley. One thing I like to know about these bikes is ground clearance. Bikes that touch down too easily are a deal breaker.

Totally agree with your point about the lack of a chrome front end of the "Chrome" version of the 21 FLTRXS and FLHXS. Another change the motor company made this model year on the FLTRXS, that in my opinion is cheesy, is the lack of a painted top air vent and nacelle. Prior year special models came with a gloss black painted inner fairing, which they still do AND top vent. The full nacelle was also painted gloss black - both the instrument portion (top) and the side covers. Now you just get the instrument cover portion painted. And I will point out that I have the blacked out version. So even though you get the full blacked out front end, you still get screwed on some other things. I ended up having all of these pieces painted to match, but why is this no longer included? It is a more premium price point model compared to the standards, right? Would also be nice if they just include the flush mounted gas cap. Only $100 and I bought one before I took delivery of my 21, but these little expenses really add up and do leave a bad taste.
@throttleblip9854
@throttleblip9854 2 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. One of the big things that sets Harley apart is the fit and finish. If they take away a premium offering for no reason other than saving money (but only on their end) it definitely will leave a bad taste.

The chrome front end (especially on black really set off these bikes) I just bought a 21 road glide and had the choice of a black on black or Blackmon chrome that already had these forks done. It was such a tough decision but I did the black on black.

Yes, I agree 100% on adding chrome lowers as a standard on all chrome trim bikes. I also get upset about the lack of LED lights as a standard on all Harley-Davidson’s. I have a 2021 Heritage Classic with chrome trim. It came with LED Headlight and passing lamps, but I had to add LED signals and tail light. Very bad Harley-Davidson! Get your act together H-D! Two upgrades that should be standard on every motorcycle H-D makes. For as much as they cost, they can add those two options without hurting their bottom line at all.

My local dealer has a new demo unit, with 760 miles on it, Street Glide Special in gauntlet grey and vivid black. They put 10k in extras on it including labor and want 42k for the bike which is CVO territory. In my mind the bike itself should not be 32k that price seems over msrp. There is no internal engine work done to it, just exhaust and tuners. Whatever the other items are LED signals and upgraded sound system amongst other things. I haven' t seen the bike in person yet but wanted to ask your opinion on if you think this bike is over priced? I don't mind paying for the upgrades if they total 10k, it's just the entire price I am not to sure about.

Well roughly he's about 8k under CVO RG cost. He still would have had to spend the money to get the bars done so he would have spent 10k more total. Also have to factor in color, if he didn't like the CVO paint options that would be an issue. The cvo does have the 117 so the power is there but the head pipe he did should help with heat, plus he would need the mufflers for the sound. Some guys don't care for the new CVO RG wheels although I love them. I think there is a lot to consider here. For the particular guy and what he wanted, I think building the special made the most sense. For others it would be the opposite.

Just buy the CVO and all of that add on is done…and no The front forks shouldn’t be chrome on standard models. You get what you pay for if you want everything chrome and you want top of the line components then you buy the CVO. Harley is not going to put chrome fork tubes on their standard models in the essence of money and keeping the sale price “reasonable“ for most buyers
@throttleblip9854
@throttleblip9854 2 жыл бұрын
Thats not the Standard, thats the Special where EVERYTHING else is chrome or painted. You can buy the lowers for $400 so Harley does that from the factory and charges maybe $300. That way the customer isn't paying $400+ for labor. I bet 98% of buyers would pay an extra 300 for it to come with chrome.
