This is the car I'd love my wife to buy. Her Honda HRV is woefully underpowered and the technology low rent. The Kona would address the issues.

In case anyone was not paying attention, he really likes the 1.6 Liter Turbo. The race tracks in Korea are very easy to get to and there seems to be a lot of different types of turns and straight a ways to have fun on. :) Good review though and glad to see you enjoying it.

I like that the front and lights have been refined. It looks much better in my opinion.

Using an electric timer you need to take off anywhere from .25 to .5 of a second because it measures when you hit the gas pedal and there is a delay that all magazines account for. So really the Kona is around 7.2 seconds 0-62 mph or 6.95 0-60. Did you try with traction control off?

Test drove the 2021 Kona 2 litre preferred and essential here in Canada. loved the essential version best. Also test drive the 2021 Elantra very high tech computerised safety features built in, we loved it too, but instantly felt the Kona was better. Kona preferred version has all the warnings the Elantra has. But I just loved the kona essential best as I felt it handled far better, more speedy, zippy response etc, so tomorrow it's deal done. Rear view camera rocks. Love cruise control too enjoyed that on the highway. Pulls away fast too. AWD as well, what's not to love. I could seriously use the front seats as beds if tent flooded camping in the Canadian Rockies again from the horrendous storm. They lie back almost flat and tons of leg room too at the front. Very comfortable.

Everytime he says "Yeah," Take a drink! I hope this comes to North America soon. I am looking to buy early into the new year and I actually much prefer this look over the current. This new one also seems to have a bit more power, and a bigger screen.

Yes happy for Kona buyers that they put more goodies in as we can see and experience on our 2020 Kona "Active" - yes it is "active" while driving it - drives well - great fuel consumption, but it lacks on options and those the car has are not function as expected they would. With creating two new fronts means more spare parts has to be on hand in Oz with the 10 year government rule spare parts availability. Not all car importers in Oz play by this rule!! When new and they are strapped for parts, they just take parts from another car they have sitting in their yard to keep those cars already sold on the road or the customer get's a temporarily demo for the while been. We were in such a situation twice and did not drive our new car once for three months and once for over six months - so take this! Consider that the Kona is since 2017 sold here in Oz and if we want any accessories, all they stock are floor mats, carpet, boot liners, drim stripings, mud flaps has to be ordered in or they offer a made in China set. Wouldn't it be really time - coronavirus or not - to have upgrade parts in stock? Like go from halogen to LED or getting a fog light kit, having an option for bigger rims or an option to have a proper built-in GPS instead of using Google maps on a mobile phone and it only works if there is an internet connectivity - and Australia's internet is a shamble and provider companies take one to the cleaners? Hyundai should be made aware of this missing opportunity as this will make Hyundai / Kia lose customers as they lose faith in those products. I give you one acample : Ssangyong. They had good sales at their beginnings in Oz and did not expect it..so the running out of spares took place / taking combonets out of stocked cars to get the ones already on the road going........and now it is an open secret, Ssangyong is an hands off product and this made sales plummeting. Please open their eyes before it will be too late as right now Kia and Hyundai models selling like hot bread - the downside is what one buys is what one is stuck with or has to cop financial losses when upgrading because of making the wrong choice and picking the wrong model as we did.

I really liked the kona. Then checked out the Kia Niro. That beats the kona on every level. Only advantage the kona had was AWD. Niro was the way I want to go but waiting for 2021 as the dash is WAY better.

I like the Elantra N-line better than the Kona N-line, but the Sonata N-line is my favorite by far thanks to the 2.5T/8spd dct powertrain. As far as the Kona wheels go, I agree about the hybrid wheel design being better than the N-line, but actually am not crazy about either one.

I have a 2019 kona with the 2.0L engine. I like to drive this car. Fuel economy really good. I like more the 1.6L turbo engine but i don't like the DCT transmission that why i took the regular engine. Good car and i like the outside relift design of 2021.

Love my new Hyundai Kona preferred 2L. It's so responsive, and such a fun beautiful drive. I feel safer too around bad drivers in Ontario, Canada, due to all the safety features. I intend to upgrade to a new one every five years with a good deal again. In comparison I didn't like the Tuscan it felt heavier and more sluggish compared to the Kona.

Kona is just too expensive and doesn't have too much toys installed in it. If you have Chinese cars in S. Korea, then I suggest you try to review the Geely cars who currently owns Volvo right now. The toys that comes along with their cars is definetely a steal specially for the low price tag.

Like yeah its not "fast" but its fast enough and it looks really fun while being an economical 1.6. Honestly this thing looks like a hoot to drive, man it pulls and handles beautifully. Thats saying a lot for talking about an SUV, a type of car I consider pretty boring usually. Hyundai is quickly becoming one of my favorite car manufacturers.

I like the new face lift, is there any useful parts for the lower grill area? must install aftermarket horn definitely. it's missing a panoramic roof

Hi Charlie, would you mind sharing how fast you drive on the highway to obtain the 39 mpg? I can only get 37.5 mpg with my 17 sonata hybrid, but I drive about 85 mph on average.

I like that the regular model does not have the fake air vent on the hood, though I suspect all US spec models will probably have the fake hood vents. The thing I like about the N Line is the body colored cladding. Not a fan of grey off color body cladding. Waiting for more info on the full N model. Crossing my fingers it will be AWD but have a feeling I’ll be disappointed, and they’ll make it front drive only.

ADDED Note about the up and coming the Hyundai Kona N.............. We have verified sightings of 2WD Kona N's, with a couple people looking under the Kona N test mule just months ago. So it is a later viable Kona N. Have you heard or seen ANY Kona N AWD's in late testing trim that someone has looked under to verify? We have many people backing out of wanting to buy a Kona N IF it is not AWD. I had money down already and heard 2 solid reports there is no AWD, so I pulled my down payment to hold my spot. What have you heard? It sounds like Hyundai went cheap and only went 2WD with the Kona N. This is an EPIC FAIL FAIL FAIL to over 3/4 of Kona N would be buyers.

I am honestly a little let down with this N Line model. It is a trim package more than an actual N model. If they wanted to entice buyers, push more power from the 1.6T and give it a sportier exhaust note. Otherwise its not really offering much more than the standard 1.6T with dct models. And before people say it cannot be done, after market tuning has already pushed well above 220whp from this engine package which is a huge increase from stock and the exhaust note sounds amazing with a simple sport rear muffler.

Love the Kona one question though is there no police in Korea?? You could never in the states

A 2020 electric version in comparison blew up in Montreal and wasn't even plugged in, the owners garage door got blown off. Scary .I read it online in the news. Some earlier elantras in 2013 blew up too there were many recalls.

The Kona is a great city car, I enjoyed the one I took for a test drive.

This one looks worse than the pre-facelift version. The proportion is very odd. The Pre-facelift Kona looks like a budget Audi. The 2021 Kona looks like a counterfeit Toyota. Why does Hyundai always mess up with their facelift version of their lineups? For example, the 2019 Elantra was worse than pre-facelift, So did the last generation Tucson. The same thing can be said about the Santafe. The pre-facelift is better then the 2021 version. Kia is doing a better job in design. @Hyundai, you should learn from your sister company, Kia, how to design a cohesive lineup!!!

Well, I felt in love with previous generation at first sight! Personally the facelift (regular version) looks worse in my opinion. The N-line is better but still changes don't make me ,,need to upgrade''. Overall, I prefer the previous version. I would put interior from the new into the old exterior to get ideal Kona :D
