Kia is probably a brand you've heard a lot about lately and that's because their 3-row SUV Telluride is winning a ton of awards. But also because they're coming out with broadly appealing vehicles like this one, the 2021 Kia Seltos. It's a compact SUV and we're going to check it out today.

Have this same color in an 'S' trim, FWD, non-turbo. Been driving it for about 5 months and love it. The additional cargo space over the Soul is what made me trade my Soul in for it. Basically satisfies all of my requirements for a car, so plan on keeping this one a while. My wife's Crosstrek rides a little better, but I find the Kia more comfortable, and cargo area fits my golf clubs better than the Crosstrek does (with all seats up). Got 36.4 mpg from my last tank (again, this is a FWD vice 4WD model).

Great review.. Like this SUV. Where are you in FL. If I buy the Seltos it will be the top Turbo model.

I have the new 2021 Tubro with a K&N filter. I'm getting real life 33 mpg ! half & half hiway and back roads in CT.. and nice little increase in pep.. LOVE this car.. SX-Turbo with all the goodies.

David McArthur That’s awesome, I know Hyundai’s and Kias are reliable these days but I worry about the dual clutch over 100,000 miles, most manufacturers have had issues with dual clutch transmission’s and their longevity, hopefully Kia breaks from the pack. At least Kia recommends fluid change in the DCT at 75,000 miles unlike a lot of manufacturers who claim they’re sealed for life which is a bunch of BS

KIA Seltos rear Aircon vent blowing warm air when Aircon temperature is set at 25 degree celsius and outside environmental temperature is above 34 degree celsius, their service work shop claimed that is normal. During the visit on 26 Apr 2021, inspection was carried out on the vehicle’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning System; the values such as Ambient Temperature Sensor, Evaporator Temperature Sensor, photo sensor, In-car air temperature sensor and other related values that maintain the operation of the climatic air-conditioning system. We did not find any abnormalities in the values and all sensors and actuators are functioning normally and a diagnostic scan with the manufacturer’s diagnostic scanner did not report any diagnostic trouble codes. These data was also inspected and compared to 2 other similar vehicles and the performance was found to be similar and thus the vehicle’s air-conditioning system was judged to be operating normally. That's radiculous silly Aircon control system

Andrah Bell Yeah it would be awesome if it had a panoramic sunroof, but it is stupid that you can’t get the two-tone with a sunroof like how hard is that to manufacture? LOL

I also saw a brand new Hyundai caught right in front of us on our way to Vegas. I wouldn’t buy a Kia or Hyundai

@@miguelircontar Once the clutch packs wear you end up leaning more into the throttle to make up for the gradual loss in acceleration which of course reduces fuel economy & causes a faster wear rate. You also have Dry & Wet DCT's, a Dry won't last or perform as well as a Wet and a Wet Clutch DCT will cost more. Your typical transmission shop probably will not be able to work on a DCT. DCT's tend to be herky jerky around town as well. DCT's like to be driven hard. If you are leasing a vehicle a DCT is just fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Ford's PowerShift seriously tarnished the reputation of DCT..

I’m hoping Kia/Hyundai get that Wet clutch DCT across their lineups in 2022.

A dry clutch DCT isn't good. The clutches wear prematurely. However a WET CLUTCH DCT is much more reliable over the long term. However, clutches on both will need to be replaced at some point, just like a manual transmission clutch will need replacement.

jessica sanchez The RAV4 doesn’t necessarily compete with this that would be the Sportage, and the Sportage is due for a re-design next year, the new RAV4 is nice especially the prime but if I want a fun car I would buy this, if I want to car that I was gonna buy and not worry about having issues I would buy the RAV 4 prime or hybrid with pano, but that’s gonna be $11,000 more than this if you want the same features as the top line SX turbo at 29,000, a RAV4 at $29,000 is a 2.5 L with not as many features, and 8 inch screen, and no android auto, The RAV4 is one second slower to 60 and gets similar if even worse miles per gallon than this
