I am a lucky owner of the 3.3 GT here in Oz. It comes with everything standard and is the top of the range Stinger. Whenever I buy a new car, and I usually change mine every 3-4 years, I narrow down what I can afford and then do research on the selected models and test drive them before making a decision. I checked the 3 German equivalent vehicles, and whilst they are great cars, the Stinger killed them for value for money, warranty, standard equipment, driving experience and general overall feel. The Germans would have cost between 60k - 70k more than my Stinger for an equally specced car. The Stinger is easily the best car I have ever owned, and I have had some rippers, including a Merc. It is an absolute rocket on the open road. Last weekend we were driving on a country road where the speed limit is 100 kays and some cars were doing 80-90 on the road. Overtaking them was an insane experience. I put my foot on the accelerator and went past them like they were standing still. I went from 90 to 155 in a blink of an eye before realising how fast I was going. The handling of this car is superb and driving long distances is an absolute joy as it is so comfortable. Kia and Hyundai / Genesis are making great cars. I had Cerato GT before the Stinger and that too is a great car. If a badge is important, get a German car. If not, the Stinger is easily the best value for money car at the moment. As Roger Taylor form Queen sang, "I'm in love with my car". It is that good. Steve from Oz

But you’ve driven both while I’ve been venturing out for basic necessities only. With said I defer to your expertise. P.S. At the same I’ve noticed that Cadillac’s CT4-V has received 👍. Great car - almost matches current Acura TLX offering with turbo 4 & other features, along with pricing. (Even has a spare tire; Acura doesn’t). Would love to see a matchup! Wasn’t even aware of this model from Kia - thanks for your review! You guys really do great work!

Great review, I agree on all your points, especially "just throw the led headlights in on all trims. " Glad to hear it's quiet and that you found the 4-cylinder refined. Looking forward to your take on the new 2.5l turbo and if you think it'll improve sales some. Actually looking forward to the new styling as well. I'm about a year out from purchase, but looking forward to comparing the new trims to the new TLX Advance. Happy holidays guys, looking forward to lots more from you in 2021. Is it safe to say that Kia has some of the best looking cars out there? The stinger is looking amazing, the k5 looks aggressive af, and the Forte GT2 looks great. Sport/luxury, mid-size, compact. Very European like. Im diggin' the Kia styles.

Great review guys. The base model for 2022 is going to have the 2.5 Turbo with about 300hp. That should make it significantly faster and fun to drive.

I have a 2020 AWD GT1 that I picked up in February of this year. I leased one in Snow White Pearl with the red leather interior. The TTV6 pulls like a bat out of hell. I’m looking forward to seeing how this car does in our Denver snowy conditions which I did not experience that much at all since after I started to lease it, the snows were not that bad.

I am planning on getting an AWD GT1 sometime towards the end of 2021 when my current lease ends. If you don't mind sharing... what do you pay for a lease payment? What did you put down and what kind of incentives were available when you got the lease? I would like to be in the neighborhood of $500/month but I don't want to go much higher than that. I would have money to put down as well.

@@johnathanalbert3762 My lease is set at 39 months with an allowable mileage of 15K a year. If I recall, I placed a down payment on the car of 3K and my monthly payment sits at $520.01 a month.

@@johnathanalbert3762 My bad, but my allowable allowance is actually 12K a year, and not 15K, but even 12K is much more then I need these days. I found that out by going to my Kia account online. Luckily I live in an unincorporated part of the Denver metro area, so my local sales tax is like 4.25%. Thank you.

Hi Drew and Mason 🙂, I did not notice the dust from the construction site. If one removed the Kia Stinger badging from the rear, the car does look more Maserati from the rear. Wow 😮, Kentucky has some serious temperature swings, your review of the 2021 F-150, you two were bundled up and this video you two are dressed as if were Spring. If you want the smoothness you can get the 3.3 twin turbo. Also, the handling on the Camry isn't as good, and it's not a sport back so if you want cargo space this is the way to go. The camry is a nice option though.

I have the GT AWD in red/black and it's a great car and even better if one considers it's only a bit more money than a V6 Camry that only has FWD. The only things I'd change are daily-life improvements. The seats are comfy, but the lack of toe space under them is tragic in a car where legroom is already at a premium. The car is also not the easiest to get in and out of because it's very low. They should make the electric steering column standard because if it moved out of the way 40somethings like me would get to keep a bit more of our dignity getting in and out (I'm not a huge guy either). The last thing this car urgently needs is more tire. A 4000 lb car with nearly 400hp dancing around on 225 rubber is silly - you get more on an Accord Sport. But I'll probably get the updated model next year when my lease is up.

It’s a shame that interest in sedans has dropped in favor of crossovers and SUV’s. From all reviews I’ve seen, this car is a blast to drive at a reasonable price.

Totally agree about SUVs. The question is why would you buy one against a sedan? The Stinger is a rocket and a great drive and unbeatable bang for buck. So glad I have one. It is amazing how many people come over and start chatting about it when I am filling up at a service station.

@@belvederedog3015 honestly, if it were up to me I’d have a sports sedan of some sort. My last two sedans were Infiniti Q37x. Had AWD and it did fine I’m the snow. My wife likes the idea of having an SUV so that’s what I’ve had since we’ve been married. Currently have an Acura MDX. But I definitely enjoy the driving dynamics of a car over a SUV for sure

@@mat13174 Curious as to why your wife likes an SUV as opposed to a sedan. One of our friends is buying a new car shortly and is looking at the Kia Seltos here in Australia. I pointed out to her the Kia Cerato GT hatch actually has a bigger boot space than the SUV but she insists that the Seltos is higher than the Cerato so she is going to be able to see more. That seems to be a common illusion with the ladies within our group of friends and family. Not sure where that is coming from but in the end it is her choice. Fortunately my wife lets me do the buying of cars and she loved driving our WRX, the MX5 and this dream machine, the Stinger. To each their own.

@@belvederedog3015 I think it must give off the perception of being a safe, “go anywhere” type of vehicle bc of the AWD and the higher driving positioning. But in reality, I think an AWD wagon, which other than the outback doesn’t sell well in the US is actually safer bc if it’s lower center of gravity. I think it’s all a matter of perception versus reality. I’d take a sports wagon with AWD over most SUVs, but that’s just me.

This is such a great car For less than 40,000 dollars you get a rwd twin turbocharged v6 grand tourer that puts 365 hp and 376 pound feet of torque, talk about a bargain, plus it would hurt the people who bought base model fwd benzs ego when a kia stinger beats them in a straight line

has the noises quality control improved? i have been told that in earlier models a lot poor quality knobs and controls, also much noise sounds throughout the interior........rattles and squeaks.......

@@howardkahn4330 I've got a 2020 and the only issues I've had are rattles. The overall interior noise is a little louder than I'd like, but is tolerable. Overall, no major complaints given how good everything else about the vehicle is.

I have a gt2, the drive modes make a huge difference actually. At least between comfort and sport. Comfort drives like a regular car, isn't heavy on the turbo unless you press it, suspension is softish and in general is just a good all around mode, particularly around the city. Sport mode kicks the turbo in almost immediately, firms up the suspension, holds the gears at higher rpms. Smart just adjusts based on your driving, eco wasn't a huge difference from comfort and you csn do custom to set it up the way you want. This is on gt2, not sure if the suspension changes happen on the other trims, dont think they have the adaptive suspension. Basically in any traffic driving or freeway I'm in comfort, any fun, curvy roads I switch to sport and get on it for some fun.

The problem with KIA is that badge saying KIA. Too much history making garbage vehicles for most people to overlook. That's why the K900 was such a failure (plus the stupid name making you think of the word *canine* didn't help) despite getting amazing reviews. They really should shelve that name and create a new one because no matter how good a vehicle is..having such a bad history doesn't make me and a lot of other people seriously consider it. It's not about being a "badge snob". It's about not wanting a product that comes from a company that built garbage vehicles for so long. Just like I would never purchase a new YUGO anything no matter how many good reviews it gets. #Truth

@@arrogen2831 For me it's all about quality, fit and finish. And the best safety features that actually work. That's why I only drive German cars. Even though German cars aren't as reliable as Asian cars..they always feel more solid on the road to me and you can't beat their wood and leather finishes. They also have safety features that are dependable. The last round of safety tests I saw on Hyundai didn't even work in Govt testing..such as their AEB (auto emergency breaking).
