We took it to the track at Apex Raceway in Southern California to test out the new orange weapon.

Supermoto is the best. Just got myself another WR250R and set it up for Supermoto. These types of bikes are THE most fun you can have on two wheels.

just wondering if i buy a supermoto can i change the rim and wheels to the same as the sxf ? because I want to buy the sxf but its too tall for me .

Can someone tell me how this 450 would compare to the 690 for blasting around twisties and wheelies. Come from sport bikes but want a supermoto and not sure what I’m looking at yet and why the video doesn’t compare the 690 to this bike. Thanks

This 450 would smoke the 690 in twisties. However, it only has 5 gears, high maintenance intervals (every 5u oil change) and the 450 is not street legal from factory. For longer rides & comfort, the 690 is more suited. Also for wheelies/stunting, the 450 is the better choice. An EXC 450 is than the better alternative imo for road: it has 6 gears, 15u oil change, street legal from factory and still very light. + these engines from the newer models (+2014) are very reliable and robuust.

I got the 690 SMCR , full akrapovic exhaust, and ktm racing camshaft, I guess, …. Yes I’m French 😂 and it was an absolute blast. A beast. I would say on a twisty little track the lightweight of the 450 is a plus, but on the street 690 SMCR IS a lot better fo me. I would take A 690 to ride with friends 😅

@@cyclenews would it be easier to convert to a street bike than converting the sfx to a supermoto street bike?

@@CodyBunker It's the same problem. The SX-F is a track-only bike so not street legal. You could potentially take something like a 500 EXC and make that into a motard, which wouldn't be too hard to do, but you won't be able to do it on an SX-F or SM-R 450
