Yes this car isn’t exactly exciting but it’s above all dependable forever and well built. I have a new one on order (22 ES300h UL). I’m 45 for the record.

Great review of a unique offering. I prefer the Lexus IS. If I were in market for ES, which is a fine luxury vehicle, I have to have the V6. Does Lexus ES V6 come with an AWD option? That infotainment touch control is really a mess.

This is the only AWD model in the entire range. I'd definitely go with the V6. Buttery smooth.

The NA 4 is an interesting choice. I could see its use case in a base base model, but once you start adding options, it’s not too long before you go V6.

I wonder why they chose a 2.4L N/A 4 cyl instead of the 2.0 Turbo on the is300. The 2.0T is much quieter which would probably make this type of car more enjoyable.

I'm sure there are plenty of engineering and product considerations for that decision. I suspect it'll change sooner rather than later.

I'm 38... Looking for luxury, (nicer than Honda/Toyota)...living in California, $6 gas prices don't help me justify getting the V6. I understand the road noise is going to be louder but that's ok, I'd be getting over 30mpg. Can't say that on the V6

Plenty to choose from in this segment, Brandon. Have a look around the channel for more options. This one is a pretty sanitized driving experience.

So this is an AWD Camry with much nicer seats, interior appointments, and bodywork. Nothing wrong with that unless the sticker price is a bit too ambitious.
