Haha yes the head rest is too upright but like you said, need to get use to it. Anyway I have been looking for IS comparison videos and yours is the best, honest and forthcoming unlike other reviewers who conceal the not so good points of the car. Many reviewers keep quiet or don't comment about the turbo lag so when you mentioned it I know your content is worthy. Glad to hear that they tried to fix the 2 second turbo lag in the new model, though I have yet to test drive the new one. I'm actually a driver of the outgoing 2020 IS and their gearbox has issues with finding the right gear at times (like I feel it is at the wrong gear and it jerks sometimes) and of course the infamous turbo lag which makes overtaking dangerous at times since you need to time it well because flooring the accelerator won't give you the power till 2 seconds later, especially when merging onto the highway. Another shitty feature they got rid off is the start stop feature. Which is useless since I believe many IS users will just turn it off but you can never turn it off completely -- it comes back on everytime you start the car. It doesn't really save fuel and if you want to save fuel then the IS hybrid would have been the option. Anyway gd job on the video and I subscribed to your channel!

Tan! Firstly thank you so much for subscribing to me it means a lot :D I am on a goal to get 1000 by February and I appreciate the kind words :) Now to the car! Yes the turbo lag is real and can't say its much better from start up but once you're going its much better and that's all due to the gearbox being a lot more 'Euro sporty' instead of being so focused on fuel efficiency and being the highest gear as possible! Like going into a corner it is no longer afraid to rev a little harder than it needs to to give it the higher revs that it needs. Once you drive it let me know how you go :) And yes the start stop.... finally!! In terms of fuel efficiency it has gone up 8.2L/100klms instead of 7.5L/100klms but still meets Euro 6 standards even without it, but you're too right people buying this car are probably not too worried about it otherwise they would go for the hybrid! And the head rest! Don't get me started!! Hahaha it is my least favouite and i go on in the video to say that the RC has an adjustable one and makes me question why the IS doesn't get it too, but alas it is one thing I don't like amongt the many I do :D Let me know how you go with the test drive and look forward to seeing you on the next one :D

THANK YOU! I was about to get a 2020 but I KNEW something was not looking the same what a DIFFERENCE! One looks old as hell, the new one, fresh as fresh can be, I feel bad for people who bought the 2020, I would be so aggravated and pissed, what a difference, many might not see it, but its like day and night to me, and apparently many others, good job Lexus! Keep this body, this is hot, the other one, was hot 10 years ago, like the last episode of the Sopranos old...

The front end of the 2021 model looks more aggressive indeed. But the rear end looks super weird. The previous model’s rear end looks better. Personally, since the specs haven’t changed for the 2021 model I don’t see the point in upgrading.

Serg! Fun video and comparison of the two gen Lexus IS models. I agree the new IS design language is a positive evolution of the car but wouldn’t call it an all new IS as Lexus claims. The new IS is nice but with the cancelation of the GS, I was hoping to see a real balls-to-the-wall engine. Sadly, nope same power train with “updated” transmission logic. 😞 Regardless, you make it a fun experience and I appreciate your enthusiasm. What are your thoughts of Nissan in Australia? I’m curious if you all have some similar thoughts of their products, in my case looking at the 2020-2021 Nissan Maxima SR. Keep up the videos, my man and yes the headrests in the videos are aimed at your head. Noticed it in the video and thought that Lexus was thinking they were Volvo. Ha ha ha!

And yes the power train being the same was a bit of a disappointment, I think it was a bit obvious on my face 😂 And the headrest!!! Argh the headrest 😂😂 Awesome car nonetheless, especially the IS350 :D About Nissan, I can't comment on them because the last one I drove was a 2015 Maxima but I have always been a fan of the Maxima, I think they are a great car for the money!! I actually didn't know they're still doing the Maxima in Australia that's how out of sync I am with Nissan.... If you test drive it let me know how you go :) Are you planning on getting one??

I am currently looking for a used is350 f sport 2018-2019 I'm wondering if it's worth the extra money to get the 2021 model because of the update. Are the changes similar in the 350 as for the 300?

Hey mate! Firstly thank you so much for watching the video it means a lot! And absolutely! The gearbox in the 2021 IS350 is a lot more seamless and it provides the power a lot better. It can hold in gear 1 and downshift to gear 1 even at 50klms which the previous generation couldn't do. New model looks great, but the old one still looks beautiful. I owned a gray on red 2017 IS200t F-Sport for almost two years & was a fun & great looking car both inside & out. I upgraded to a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport a year & a half ago which I do like better & is a lot more luxurious but wanted/had to go back to a bigger & roomier car, but miss my IS in some ways such as the radical dashboard design & was also my first Lexus.

Hey Francis, firstly thank you so much for watching and to answer your question it really depends what's important for you. Power is the same, gearbox does feel better in the 2021 though. Looks are easy, F-Sport looks awesome but the new front end on the 2021 is just beautiful. So it comes down to what luxury features are important to you. I know the leather seats in the f-sport are amazing and the fake leather in the base just get too sweaty and sticky at times. Airconditioned seats in the f-sport are just 👌. Also stuff like the mark Levinson (if optioned) and seat memory and tri LED high beams in the F-Sport are great! The 2021 does have the touch screen and it is easier to use. The previous model interior is better. The real leather is much better and the screen impeded in the dash board looks better and makes it feel roomier. It is a shame that the new one has a terrible interior because it has an amazing exterior

Could you please answer the question of car reliability? I drive fast and driving is the most important thing to me. reliability. Will the car be able to withstand his 170,000 miles on his Voc? Will it be as reliable as, say, a Lexus? I like it so much that I'm concerned about its reliability and high price . So what do you think? Is it reliable? Which one is better? In all respects, especially when it comes to reliability and driving feel, there is a LEXUS IS and a BMW G20 and how do they differ? I'm sorry for the inconvenience. thank you. My brother, but now I am confused between the LEXUS IS350 2022 and the BMW G20 330i, and I am afraid because these cars are from Mercedes. They say that they do not last for more than 6 years, and I have kept the car for more than 5 years. They say that it has problems and such, but you as a user, what do you say, which one is better, Lexus? Or BMW V 1- Driving 2- Reliability 3- The comfort of the car on long roads and how well it can withstand pressure. Hi Mohamed! Thank you so much for watching! As far as reliability goes Lexus's have always had the best rating for reliability! I would say around corners the BMW is great and very sporty, more sportier than the Lexus. If you plan to keep the car for over 170k miles it would be a good idea to take reliability and maintenance costs into factor which is something that you need to see where you live. I actually prefer the interior of the old one minus the screen. The piano glass, fake leather and the 2 heatings vents being different from the middle ones on the new on make it look less refined than the old one. The exterior of the new one is better, especially the back LED strip but you could also add that yourself.

I think the previous adaptive cruise control goes all the way down to 15kmh and not 40kmh. Hopefully.

@@SergCarReviews oh I think I mixed subjects. The PCS is activated and brakes until reaches 15kmh. The adaptive cruise control indeed may be engaged only starting 40 I guess. However I guess it means that if you engage the cruise control at 50kmh in the city and the car in front stops the cruise control will decelerate and pcs may come in action down to 15kmh (for the 2019 IS at least)

I have read a lot about turbo lag and slow performance on the IS300, I was looking at a Fsport as I am upgrading from an old 250 do you think the IS300 performance is acceptable??

@@djnaz6546 yeah I have a IS 300 white AWD. For some reason the RWD version has better torque performance. So it’s faster off the jump. The AWD does lag. Other than that I love it. Wanted an F sport but the deal I got on this one was crazy. It was like Lexus was giving them away. But if I had to do it again. I would opt for the F sport no doubt

The sheet metal above the lamps looks similar to a 2010 Camry.Great that it is right hand drive, you get no tranny hump intrusion on your right foot. Oops.

It’s funny you mention that because I literally cut the clip just before I say it 😂 I also mention how the RC has the same headrest but it’s adjustable by going forwards and backwards and say they should’ve just used that one 😂 To be fair I didn’t think most people would get to the last clip 🤣Anyways thank you so much for watching Ryan 😄 Hope to see you on the next one!

How sure are you about the fuel economy? People online are complaining and claiming that they get 12L/100km which is ridiculous. 🧐

To my opinion yes, the 2021 is way more clean and sexy in the exterior, more sporty too. It drives and handle even better than the already very good previous generation. I actually always loved the XE30 generation but with the 2021 MY they did a masterpiece. Obviously IMHO and with all due respect.

I will say the looks of an MY 20 in an F sport in graphite black still gives me that giddy feeling 😂

I’ll check it out. And yeah, I can’t get into the IS because Lexas refuses to upgrade the engine and the interior. The exterior alone is basically the same as its been since 2013.

@@SergCarReviews nah, I drove an 05’ Acura TSX, but that car is what got me into the Lexas brand because those card are similar to the IS. I hope to get like a 2016 or 2017 GS 350 F-sport pre-owned one day whenever I can afford it lol.

AMEN!! That surge Rant is so so right. I daily drive my LC500 and it has the touch pad. It was annoying for the first few days, but after a few weeks it was awesome. Now they’ve made it even better, but the key his: you can get used to it with some time and it works super well once you do! 🫡
