The premium three-row SUV segment has seen fresh competiton hog all the limelight. But the 2021 Lincoln Aviator Reserve is here to provide a not-so-subtle reminder that not all entries are created equal. For instance, did you know AutoTrader.ca Road Test Editor Dan Ilika stands 6-foot-3? And that he can actually sit down in the Aviator's third row without tucking his knees under his chin? Passenger space is just one of the Aviator's strengths - Dan walks through the pros and cons of Lincoln's smaller three-row SUV that may well be the segment's best-kept secret.

I love it. 5,000 miles in and one of the best vehicles I’ve owned. I feel the room space surprised me. Just keep a microfiber rag for the piano black trim.

I Love my 2021 Aviator. BEST vehicle I have owned thus far. Very comfortable, the piano shifter is different but very easy to get use too. I remember when Ram came out with the hockey puck shifter, I had one on a 2500 I owned. Hated it at first, then became second nature. I have the ebony roast interior which seems to be less popular with what is available on sales lots, so I had to find 1 with it. It is a gorgeous interior! I did test drive the GV 80 and loved the ride quality, and the interior was great. But the powertrain is just no match for the Lincoln. And again the ebony roast that is offered in the Aviator is the best out there in my opinion. Definitely would not be disappointed if your considering this suv as an option for yourself.

I have an Aviator Black Label and really like it. I've had a few niggles (going back to the dealer for the second time in 6 months) but overall satisfied with the looks, performance, comfort and tech. While you'll quickly get used to the transmission buttons, I agree with the placement of the door-open button. It's right beside my left knee so I frequently accidentally press it while driving and triggering a warning.

I got the 2021 grand touring black label aviator, it is the best SUV I've owned. I turn heads on the road all the time, and people are super impressed just by the look of it. I've always owned lincolns, I have the MKS, the MKX and a corsair but the aviator is a totally different breed on it's own.

no mention of the hidden rear window wiper. Also, the GV80 has headlights that turn and "maybe" self leveling headlights. Another plus for the GV 80 is the cameras at the mirrors to show the blind spot traffic that then shows on the dash -- depends on which turn signal -- R or L of the result on tach or speedo. GV80 has longer warrantee (5 yr) as I recall and pick up and delivery of the vehicle when service is required. Looking at a variety of options and both of these vehicles are in the running or might just keep my 10 year old MKX Limited Ed with only 106K Km which I rather like.

thanks. nice review. i do, however, think a value SHOULD be placed upon cargo volume. after all, this is a suv...not a canyon carver. that alone would make me pick it over the korean...plus the engines are better in the ford series, having been tried and tested and improved over a decade.

Good review, I just don’t agree with many of your opinions. Went to trade my 2023 G80 in for a GV 80…I got out of my test drive and walked next door and bought a 2024 MDX Advanced because the seat was so $hitty hard. My 2023 Aviator Black Label 30 way adjustable seats are the benchmark now, and I never thought I’d find seats better than Volvo. Moral of the story, don’t believe everyone else’s opinion. Go out and research for the only opinion out there that matters….yours.

Great SUV. One annoying thing is that it takes 2 buttons to turn off the auto start/stop system. There should be one dedicated hard button or an option to completely disable it.

I think that's the idea. They don't want to make it easy. However, it doesn't bother me one bit. I don't mind saving the fuel when stuck at a long light.

I’m North American. I’ll take all three xtra room. And it’s a lot extra once you’ve been in both. Aviator has way more of a roomy feel

Great car if you think $80,000 for 19 days of pleasure is worth it I p/u a new 2021 Aviator reserve which I fell in love with same as the dude in the video has been bragging about but after 19 days of pure pleasure the entire electrical system went crazy now the vehicle has been in service 3 time for a total of 41/2 months and nothing has been repaired and even more is wrong with it The f------en car is such a piece of sh____It has been nothing but trouble for the last year and a half, Now It is sitting in a storage unit for the last 7 months because its a safety hazard and I will not put my family in it nor will I put the public in danger . Hers just a few of the issues, while driving on the highway the front end starts to shimmy furiously to the point that I have to make my way over to the shoulder. Or all of a sudden the car feels as the brakes are on as I'm driving 100km an hour on the highway Or all of a sudden the back end on the car dips as if the hatch has opened .the screen does not lower its intensity automatically or manually so when your driving at night its literally blinding you . I could name at least 5 other major problems that occur and the worst part of it all .the problems that occur happen randomly you never know when its going to happen so BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I hope I've helped you make a safe decision
