I used to dislike Mercedes after having driven many from 2004-2010. However the last 5 years with the GTR, E63 AMG, GT Black Series and AMG One have made me a fanboy. Still don't like the base cars but the Performance cars are very cool.

So glad you mentioned the comparison to the ACR-E. I remember when the ACR-E came out all the marque snobs were saying how outrageous and perhaps unnecessary all the aero was, but of course many then followed suit including Porsche Mercedes and Lamborghini. You are right though, this car is similar to Viper, as its layout is also front mid engined , however the ACR-E has even more aero than this, with double the dive planes, bigger front splitter, more pronounced diffusers, bigger rear wing and of course NA engine. Sure the Viper doesn't have the build quality of the AMG and detail, but neither does it have its price tag. All you need to do to the Viper is spend 30k and convert the ACR-E to a 9.0 liter and presto you have an 800 hp hugely potent weapon on the track that will embarrass pretty much anything short of a Senna. And all that of course, whilst stirring your own gears! Ask me how I know.😃

Damn I clicked pretty fucking fast. I’m so happy you got to drive this, thanks for the early teaser last weekend It sucks that all the sound is pumped in through the speakers, but I think a few missing fuses and an exhaust could fix that. I HOPE THIS GETS A LOT OF VIEWS Thanks for the plate cover by the way. I like it I’m honestly surprised it’s still nowhere near 3,000 lbs. I wish it was lighter honestly. This is AMGs first flat plane crank and it makes a very powerful soundtrack. I like how they updated the interior with the digital screens. Pretty neat stuff This car looks amazing coming around every corner, over every hill, and looks like it’s responsive as hell. Sadly this is the last Mercedes V8 we’ll ever see. They definitely went out with a bang, but I kinda see Mercedes AMG falling flat on its face after the 4 banger only line comes out. I do like how the splitter is manually extendable. This car is super wide and I LOVE it. Hello there lotus… I’m still disappointed in myself from last time, but I’ll come back stronger next time. That’s a promise. This car is technically mid engine. It’s so well balanced because it’s mid engine and, the gearbox is in the rear as a transaxle, not sure if you knew that. Nice vid, hopefully we can see this car pushed to its limit one day on the channel, but, we’ll see. I like to be optimistic.

I've never been a Mercedes fanatic but this magnificent beautiful jewel of a machine is truly a crowning achievement for Mercedes. However, for the money, there are much better choices out there. But kudos to Mercedes for this one.... Also, I think there should be a law against pumping fake sound thru the speakers, that's just criminal !

I really appreciate all the work your family put into it. There is a certain elegance to your videos. I am of two minds with this car. On the one hand it looks like a AMG GT with a mansory kit, and is a strong departure from previous black series (more stealthy). The GTC is a beauty, this is the ultimate beast version. Interesting how both are the same car, and yet totally different in appearance. However because I know the looks of the black series is functional, I can give it a pass. So its a car I respect and it is cool it exsists, but it not a car I love and would strive for.

People keep saying this is slower than 720s and 765lt. Of course, you only care about straight line.. even a $130K Model S plaid can eat everything on the road including 765lt.. this is a track car and it’s the fastest production car in the world on the Nürburgring. Treat it as such.

I absolutely love everything except for the noise...previous AMG vehicles with the prestigious 'Black Series' emblem feature the most amazing sounds that emanate from the exhaust and within the cabin. This one...not so much. Putting a decent exhaust on it would do wonders

Love the channel and the Mercedes AMG GTR is a great car I have driven one. I can't imagine how much better this car is. I wish I could put a AMG GT Black Series and Viper ACR in my garage as track cars. Best current Supercar on track although the SF90 Stradale might beat it and the Viper is the best Manual raw track car.

The GT Black series is just a more refined and more luxurious version of the Viper ACR...In-fact the SLS was actually based on the Viper's chassis. And the AMG GT is the successor thereof.

@@bigl3885 Theres nothing refined about a Black Series. You’re gonna have a rough suspension, no sound insulation, rocks being picked up by the sticky tires then throw into the wheel arch. The interior is more luxurious looking than a viper, that I can agree on.

The vents have a specific aero purpose, not really there to cool. Especially since the whole front end of the car was designed by Mercedes’ GT race car engineer. Haven’t even scratched the surface taking about the design purpose and tech advancements

As just proven the Black Series and Senna crush the 765LT on track so far. Straight line the 765LT is faster. However this is a track car so it succeeds where it was meant too.

Not hatin' the AMG, but I sure n the fucks don't like it. 3600+ Lbs is a fat, I'll take some other cars before this. Just me. I get how others do like it and 'fight' over it, but ze-ro interest to me.
