The second-generation Mercedes GLA boasts a more traditional SUV look than the old model. It’s taller and wider than before, with a plush, digital interior and an excellent array of engines, including a frugal PHEV powertrain. yes the raised driving position and improve styling would have me sold (tho the A Class is still a handsome car)

@@georgedowns4034 I dunno - The A class looks mostly ok, but ... it kinda looks like someone spent all week designing the car and realised at half past four on Friday they had no back end. Just a bit "that'll do, I'm off for the weekend" looking. And as for those fake vents and exhausts? Oh dear ...

@@OriginalGriff I personally don't mind fake vents & exhausts tho exhausts fake on Mercs are annoying but the only problem I have with it is that in basic trim it looks...well...too basic...

@@georgedowns4034 I know what you mean - especially in the "default white", which I suspect is deliberate to get you to add the £600 for any other colour ... I'm still driving a W169 A Class though as it's far easier to get in and out of that than the later W176/177's. Maybe a GLA or EQA next (though charging that would be ... difficult)

I have the previous GLA, 200d 4matic. Totally satisfied and think it looks nicer than the latest version which, agreed, has a more SUV look.

Sorry, wrong information. The 1,3 liter petrol engine is NOT from Renault, but build by Mercedes in its engine factory in Koelleda, Germany. Only the engine block is made by Renault in cooperation with Mercedes. Inform yourself better, before you tell stories.

I was so excited when ordered the GLA AMG premium plus in early February and expected to get it in May and have just been told that because of production problems they cant give me any idea when they will even start making it let alone deliver it 😭

@@nobody....168 UK, I’m still waiting and now been told it will be the end of the year! Very poor customer service, avoiding calls and just keep fobbing me off. I’m seriously thinking of getting a Volvo instead.

@@gilloppy6756 I put my order on the GLA in June so that means I'm probably not getting mine till March next year :( agree on the customer service, I think so many people are frustrated all they ever get is complaints. This chip shortage is so bad.

I had pretty high expectations with this car. Mat Watson said that you can hardly feel the bumps at all. But when I test drove it, I was quite disappointed. It was bumpy, loud road noise, and rattling sounds in the back. The A-Class I test drove was much better.

Hi I have watched a lot of reviews on the gla but none let you know how quick the climate control heats up I live in Scotland and its cold 95%of the year haha

Better buy a low to mid spec GLC

Tempting, but the GLC is quite a bit more expensive - especially if you go for one of the AMG Line cars.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I actually went for a used mid spec 220d, 17" wheels with the analogue instrument cluster but with the larger MBUX tablet, navigation, Nappa leather and most important the Multibeam lights. It has some other more or less useful gizmos but nothing special, no fancy led strips inside, no Burmester sound system etc. It was a company car, used by one of the Merc dealer's managers. 7,000 miles, built early 2020. Paid for it 40,800 euro. Still under warranty for 2 more years. Better driving, better car overall. The only major complain is that it doesn't have a spare tire, even the tiny space saver would be nice. Wish I'd have a full size spare. But it looks like all modern Benz come with the silly tirefit kit. Please address this in your reviews🍺

@@Alainke crap Mercedes have been horrible they have put us from pillar to post from may at first it was well it will be June due to covid then it was August and then two weeks ago they told us 2023 so then they told us that we couldn’t get it at all so gave us a refund. Really unimpressed

Why have Mercedes defaulted to just making all car interiors black? I hate black interiors. It seems a competent car, but it is one of many in an ever expanding plethora of SUV's. I will be sticking with my Jaguar E Pace, and have change in my pocket, and a light interior!!!
