My daughter watches this coverage with me sometimes. Usually I am watching it very late at night and she has woken up with bad dream. I think the nature, friendly players (mostly :P), and seeing the beautiful flights on these discs helps calm her back down and she really seems to enjoy it. It also has provided me with several teachable moments about not giving up, and practicing hard to get good at something. That being said, her favorite player is Ricky Wysocki. She will wander into the room, rubbing her eyes, climb into the chair with me, and ask "iSH wAHshoKKEEE playin'?" I guess what I am saying is thanks to you and the players for the game, the coverage, and the moments.

Seems like sometimes people at the top of their game forget how to love it. Ricky still loves disc golf and he's just a good dude on top of it.

Yeah, I wasn't a Ricky fan initially and then I was sold because of that. Also, the celebrity open this year he was always coaching and encouraging his partner. That attitude is why I fell in love with this sport in the first place and its nice to see it at this level of play.

There needs to be some common sense with rules. No way Kyle should have taken a 5 because his shot was called OB.

Man you just put into words what I was thinking. Freaking common sense man. And like I'm not even mad at the spotter. That's an odd event what happened. Who in their right mind would verbally call a provisional when you get a red flag?

I think the T.O. should step in. You want to maintain pace of play, and throwing provisionials for every red flag or heading to inspect your tee shot after spotter clearly signals OB just lacks common sense.

If I am understanding correctly (I am not a rules expert) they went by the letter of the law there... so I think the law needs some reexamination, because there's just no way that should have been the result there. Kyle was the unfortunate soul to find a broken spot in our rules.

That's just not right. I know the spotters are doing their best but if they make a mistake it shouldn't be a 2 stroke penalty for the player that's just insane.

The whole point of having spotters is so you aren't throwing a provisional and as well keeps the traffic moving limiting one throw per person. I grasp the idea but if a call is made by the spotters then the situation should be reversible. Not punishing the player in two different methods.

That's why disc golf is so freakin' awesome. Go check out Ezra and Paige's practice video where there's a side camera angle of their upshots where you can hear the discs "hissssss" as they fliy past the camera. So freaking epic...

That Kyle rule is really dumb!! There’s no way he could have known his original disc was in-bounds until he got to the green. I feel like to respect pace of play they need to allow well-intentioned provisional throws like Kyle did. I can’t imagine they would prefer each player going down to where every OB shot landed just to make sure it wasn’t somehow in bounds. If it was up to me, Kyle should get a 3. If he knew the disc was in-bounds and still threw those shots that’s one thing, but how could he have possibly known?

Especially when he was told by the spotter that it was OB. Not at all within the intention of the rules.

@@JoshSmith-sr6ks the point of a provisional is to rethrow, but from your original lie/teepad, not the drop zone. If you walk for a few minutes to the drop zone and throw, it's no longer provisional.

Marwede is killing it lately! It's good to see a one finger forearm can be used effectively at the highest level. I've always used one finger but when I started watching the pros play last year it had me doubting my grip. So I tried the two finger like most pros do and it was like learning to throw all over again. After about a week of only two finger forearms I switched back to one. Just couldn't get a good or comfortable grip that way. Much love from Michigan!

I love watching Ricky and Calvin play, they are always rooting for the great shots. Kyle is starting to get his game together and justin has beard goals. Hole 8 was sick, love to have to local hooligans hanging out for the day #6

@@aaronmayhew2.0 I’m sorry, but that’s on Calvin man. I love the energy the crowd is bringing…. It’s good for the sport. As long as the crown that is surrounding that specific hole isn’t being loud…. there’s nothing you can do about the crowd elsewhere. Same goes for ball golf. Or any sport for that matter.

Yeah I agree with you Over Due on both counts, and honestly, I'm not sure Calvin was distracted by it. The last couple of tournaments Calvin has kinda had the "yipps" just a little off if you know what I mean. Still very good, just not the lights out laser that he was the first part of the year. As for the gallery on hole 8, that needs to be on every hole in my opinion. What these guys are doing is not easy, and deserves more than stuffy old golf clap and "good show old chap". If I wanted that over privileged crap I would watch ball golf.

You'd think a spotter would be considered "an official" so their bad call shouldn't have cost Kyle a stroke. At least the throw from the drop zone until he'd gotten to his disc and had a chance to see it himself.

Kyle got so screwed. That shouldn't be happening. If a spotter gives the red flag, the next throws should just automatically be provisional. TD and spotter screwed up

@@ceelos31 the rule of a provisional is you have to declare the throw a provisional. However he didnt because the spotter gave the wrong call. So theres no reason for him to call provisional. Imo it should have been counted as such since the spotter called wrong

the reason for him to call provisional is so this exact situation doesn't occur. that's a pretty good reason imo. I feel really bad for Kyle and for the spotter but this is all within the rules. The spotter is just that, a spotter.

If the spotter isn’t sure, they should not raise a flag at all, indicating to the player to play a provisional and make a group decision later. Making the wrong call shouldn’t penalize a player period.

one thing I adore about disc golf, is how beautiful the courses are, the land is not destroyed or drastically changed, it is just adjusted, its so subtle, its like sitting into a huge comfy couch, you just sink in so nicely and become one with the couch,

Gosh, Maple Hill is just a spectacularly beautiful course. And what a feature card! Thank you J crew for yet another amazing coverage! P.S. I did watch some 2017 coverage over the past few days (for the Juice tune and BigSexy commentary) and I must say the progress you've had with video & graphics quality is just outstanding! You truly are getting better with each passing year. P.S. 2 I miss Nate. I mean Uli and Jerm are wonderful but Nate just brings that extra little Sexy spice that takes coverage to the next level for me. P.S. 3 The segments of interviews with course designers/tournament directors and player intros you've added this year is just... it's something else. Really shines the light on people who work hard and narrates their stories in a beautiful way. Sincere thank you for whoever came up with the idea of adding these. Takes these coverages to another level imho.

Steve Dodge is also integral in where the pro tour is now. Some fair harsh criticisms of certain things along the way, don't take away from the great concept and where it is now. Kudos sir. And many thank to Jeff and Todd for taking it to a great level now.

It’s difficult to conceptualize how difficult some of these holes are until you play them in person. Hole 9 could be a par 7 and I’d still struggle.

So this was the second to last card to play... I followed around the final card that day. (Paul, raven, eagle, and Conrad) Both cards were recorded. Does Jomez choose which to commentate/edit based on which was more entertaining. Figured the final card was stacked.
