Great work Don! My dad and I started watching your videos this past year and have really enjoyed learning from your content. We planted our own food plots on our property this year and have really enjoyed watching all of the game feeding on them.

This is one of my favorite don mealey videos so far. Ive learned so much from your videos Don and i thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. my imperial clover will be on its fourth hunting season this year and is still going strong. I actually watched a black bear and her cubs enjoying the clover last week. No short cuts gave me good results. I seeded some beets and greens last week and they are germinating nicely. Its a lot of fun working the soil and seeing the results from the hard work. Food plotting is a great hobby. New Brunswick Canada.

Don i started adding composted chicken manure with the lime 100 lbs to acre. In Michigan there is a company dairy doo. They spread their products on lots of potato and organic fields. Results are shocking. Enjoy the channel let little don drive tractor next time. God bless

You always put the work in, and explain in detail on what to do. Hopefully with a little help from Mother Nature, it will be an awesome plot. Thanks for sharing all of the videos, I learned form this Chanel that there are NO SHORT CUTS when planting food plots or beans or corn fields. Like everything else in life, we reap what we sow, and the more we put into it, chances are we get a good result from the fruits of our labor. Little Donny has a great teacher, and he should take the reins someday and just KEEP ON KEEPING ON. God Bless

Hey Don, watch that Heat I think it got me the other day, took a few days to get straightened out, I am with you on the clover I started one of my first plots with fusion but now I use alfa Rack Plus allot, I'm getting some nice results, going into August I won't mow again I will let it grow for the year, My plots are full of deer right threw winter , they dig holes threw the snow and it's still green !! They might destroy the turnips or beans but they finish off with the clover if you watch them, Be Safe Buddy !!

Thanks for your viewing an comments an WHITETAIL INSTITUTE CLOVER is the BEST all round WILDLIFE food source 365 days annuals got theit place but it does get old of replanting new plots every fall time an money spent an Hell use to just go hunting in the fall an shot alot of good Bucks off of what mother nature provide .with that said planting annuals does make shed antler hunting better as the Bucks concentrate in those areas an there a good chance they will shed their antlers close by !

Great explanation of what you need to do with the lime . always learn something from the channel and Don Mealey . You have a wealth of knowledge ,to share with us here .You are my inspiration to get it done . be safe in this heat . from the Missouri Ozarks mountains Bobby

You can broadcast the lime on first than plow it in ,but this time I wanted to make sure it got deep were root system may benefit from from the lime faster .Thanks for your viewing an comments I

Nice job on the prep work. I found out that, if you don't cheat on the getting the ground ready and maintaining the plot the results speak for themselves. I average about five years for a clover plot. The fusion works great up here in Wisconsin.

Great content as usual Don. Greetings from Norther Michigan. I was wondering if you have ever had a food plot prepped, and then broadcasted the lime, but not disc’d it in? Would the lime be effective if it wasn’t disc’d in?
@DonMealeysHuntingChannel3 жыл бұрын
You want the lime down in the soil to work faster you can lime after the foliage has grown an let the rain take it down into the soil on old plot but on a new plot its far better to get the lime into the soil before planting. Thanks for your viewing an comments

Nice job Don! I'd have to agree with you about Whitetail Institute being the best. I've tried other brands with little results. Are you going to plant anything with it the first year as a nurse crop?
@DonMealeysHuntingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yes sir forage oats will be planted with the clover I'll be planting in about 2 weeks Its suppose to rain in the next 2days I want a flash of new weed growth than hit them with the disk again that way I don't have to use a round up product to get ahead of the new weeds .Thanks for your viewing an comments

@DonMealeysHuntingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Its a waste of time if you can afford land to put plots on you can come up with the money to buy equipment an the way the Dealerships sell machines today on credit there shouldn't be any problem acquire equipment . Thanks for your viewing an comments I .
