Great instructional video. Just performed my first oil filter change on same sled. It was difficult but with your tips it is going to make it a no problem job. The sled is great to use so far. Time will tell. Thanks again. Best of luck to you and your endeavors.

Your videos are relaxing, pleasant to watch and sensibly edited. Good job! I settled on a 2022 VK540 and overall it meets my needs. Yamaha put two heaters on the carb throat and it is way better on fuel…not as good as a 4 stroke but pretty good. I’m a bit old school and have a fear of things like check engine lights and highly computerized sleds and also like the pull start. Keep doing what you do!

Nice machines Brother! I know what you are saying about having a back up for starting. 3 years ago I would have had a long walk out of the north with my ol Venture if I wouldn't have had the pull start. Battery had died. That's one of the reasons when I was shopping for a new machine I went with another 2 stroke and bought a VK. That oil reminded me of a pitcher of beer too, lol. Good video Brother! Also I sent me email I had a few questions about snare cable… the stuff I order for my wolf snares is junk I called the company and of course I am the first guy to ever say they had junk cable out of billions of feet of cable they ever sold 😉 is is so terrible now half way threw the 500’ spool I can do nothing but make slide wires for beaver… pretty disappointed so I will be looking to spend my money else where

@@whatido3021 10-4 so on the glove compartment have you thought about using a piece of that white material u use to block sticks on ur cooler? Like as a good to block the glare? Just an idea from watching all the videos

@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie I've actually gotten use to the glare, the distortion is what verily bothers me, other then cutting the windshield I'm not sure what options their would be.

Good machines BRP, once you go that way hard to change they are so dependable imo. My buddy has the swt . One drain plug is for air so no trapped air when you fill or drain as some filler tools have connection that screws right into that hole so you need to vent as you fill I was told. I have the old Expedition 800, it's a breeze to change oil and filter on it; just run it up ramp and ratchet plug out and perfect in bottom right under plug. I put piece of rag right around hole just in case some happens to touch the floor of it! She's still running strong though and I don't baby it at all if you have seen any of my videos! My motto is , u don't have to walk there!!.take care

Always like your videos, channel named Practical Porters showed how to change the oil without taking off the coweling (body panels) that's what I do. But it's good knowledge to have if you want to upgrade the glove box. I also use a 60cc livestock syringe to add coolant and chain case oil.

It can be done but I struggle with my fat hands, and once you remove the entire front it's a good time to grease your front suspension and makes clean up way easier if you do happen to make a mess like I did, Thanks Joel!

Nothing is easy anymore ! I once had to change a starter on a Yamaha vector and since the access hole was 1 inch too small underneath I had to pull the engine to install a new starter. Why not make those access holes bigger ??? Great video. love that setup you have on the sled.

I had a Honda Goldwing 1500 motorcycle back in the 90s and early 2000s and removing and replacing the panels (Tupperware as they were lovingly referred to) had to be done in an exact order or you could easily spend a day trying to figure out why they won't go back together properly.. I think they purposely do that to intimidate some folks into shying away from working on their equipment on their own and instead take it to the dealer for maintenance. Whenever I change the oil on any of my vehicles, after adding the new oil, I always start the engine and let it run a few minutes, check for any leaks just to be sure, and then shut it of and let it set for a few minutes before checking the oil level. As for the glare from the dash panel light, maybe you could fabricate a small hood the extends out enough to prevent the glare at night but still allows you to see the panel. Just a thought.

It sure seems like every vehicle is being built that way so we are steered to brining them to the dealerships for repair or service, for the glare on my windshield that's a great idea and have thought about doing something but just never got to it, always seem to remember doing it when I'm riding it! I am actually use to it now, the distortion is what I can't stand the most!

I know, it's pathetic considering how easy it was to access the older sleds, you can do it without removing the entire hood but it's a challenge.

Plenty for what I do, I don't need extreme speed so it is plenty sufficient, and I tow a lot of weight on a regular basis.

I intend to have a bit more on the filter but screwed up on the video, just a matter of taking taking the three bolts out, replacing the filter and re-installing with the new O rings, pretty simple. My apologies on that part.
