Excellent review. I have a 1999 Chevy Metro that I’ve had for 11-12 years. I’ve said ever since I’ve owned this, this was the best car ever built. But now i have 235,000 miles on it. It still runs great. I just drove 4000 miles from Northern Maine to deep into Mexico. Since I know I’m going to have to do something different pretty soon, I’ve been researching WHAT? The Chevy Spark LS is the ONKY thing that fits the bill. Manual EVERYTHING, but it’s going to be hard to find one with low miles. I will not touch anything with a CVT transmission. You have, what I want! GM because if greed, quits making every good car they ever built. Oh, I was tired of having to use the key for my back trunk lid too. Put a sock or something in the latching mechanism. It will shut, but not lock. Nobody is going to check to see if they can raise your trunk lid. I’ve been driving a car with 55 ho hp for so long, I don’t know what I’d do with all those extra horses.

I entirely agree with the Cvt I refuse. The GM CVT is like the worst of them too. The spark is a fun like car and I think a perfect car to replace the metro

@@richyhansen201. I might be wrong, but I think the CVT transmission put in the spark was built by Nissan. I’ve been trying to research this as much as possible the last week or so. I could be wrong, but I believe Nissan built the worst transmission out there, then sold it to MANY other car manufacturers. So, for me that kills just about every other option out there, because most of them hardly sold any manuals. Even the Spark didn’t sell that many manuals, because many were sold to the car rental companies, and they had to be automatics.. What’s your opinion of the engine so far? These Metros had Suzuki engines and transmissions, which is why they were so good. .I knew 2 people in Arizona that drove their Metros to 350k and nothing major done to the engine.

@@dennisconrad6124 I know the transmission is Korean so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Nissan. I like the engine on the spark, easy to work for maintenance, not the fastest thing in the world but she does the job for sure. Oil changes are extremely simple, I got a short ram intake for it since then just to improve the sound and I enjoy that. I got lucky when I bought mine I found a dealership near me that had this one with only 14 miles on it. Up over 35k now.

Thanks Richy! 😊 Good to see people like me out there , who care about "needs" , not the big nonsense "WANTS". Can you please put another review on reliability, maintenance and repairs about the car at higher mileage??? Respect 🙏

Quick recommendation for you. Where your sub wire is hooked up to your battery, install an inline fuse. I had a friend lose his car when his sub power wire grounded out, not fuse protected at the battery and caught fire. What's worse is his insurance didn't cover it as it was an aftermarket accessory that he installed. It is a cheap modification that you can do and it will protect your investment.

Has an online fuse, wouldn’t run it without one.

@@richyhansen201 that's alright! I can understand that... Here gas prices are so high, it has been that way for many years so I won't have a fast car unless I'm getting rich...

Richy, I get my Spark LS manual in a couple of days after waiting 7 weeks! Would you do a short video on how you added your powered subwoofer. please. :D

If I still had the spark I would, my family outgrew the car and we needed something bigger. Was really sad to see it go was a wonderful little car. I made a reddit post about it if I can find that I'll post the link.

You should review new vehicles and get paid a ton of money to do so! Direct, unpretentious and informative! I've ordered my 2022 Spark white LS manual and it should be in about 2 weeks. :D Thanks!

@@1968davis That's awesome. Ordered mine on Sept 16th. Not sure if it's going to be built according to the dealer. They have no idea if their even making them anymore but Chevrolet is still taking orders. The week after I ordered mine, Chevrolet raised the price $995. This week they raised it again. Now it's $1306 higher than my price. That tells me their still building them

Nice small vehicle with a stick sorry not a fan of the tacky exterior and interior add on's car simple and practical. This vehicle is better than any electric vehicle.
