I bought the 2021 125cc tr bw. Its very nice for the price. I put on the protaper SE bars, protaper chain and 1,000lb rear shock. Im 6'2" 225lbs and it has no problem pulling me.

D Pat, I totally Agree! I modified my bike the same way.I also upgraded to a gold series chain. Still need to update the rear shock.

@@smokeyfisherman4348 absolutely not. I’ve put my 189 through the ringer, and it’s holding up perfectly fine. Not a thing broken on it.. Unless you have one, stop spreading that garbage. If you don’t like them because they’re Chinese, just say so.

Wow, that 300 is a beast. Saw that one at the cfmoto dealer near me just started carrying the SSR line ! Almost half price if the Japanese brands!!

Wish this DB Option /Brand was around when I was a young kid back in the early 80's. They are a Blast! At 47yrs old I love the 125cc Big Wheel, which is perfect for kicking around with my buddies and there bikes. 🏜

Always wanted a dirt bike for myself. I’m 32 and got me a ‘21 SSR 189 this past summer. It’s perfect for me as a beginner. It’s got enough power, but not too much where I don’t feel comfortable. Damn good bike, and I’m loving it so far after 15 hours. Already looking to get me a 300 or maybe a 250 tho lol

I just got a 2021 ssr 125tr on Friday and I find no fault with this bike. A bolt and screw did come lose but that was because the workers who I bought it from maybe forgot to tighten it. It is very good and I like it a lot

Remember before hating on China bikes the pit bike range from 125 to 140 are bikes the Japanese simply do not build a 85 2 stroke isn't the same as the suspension is tuned for children and they bog like he'll with an adult on them where as the pit bike is more suited for a teenager to full adults with stiffer suspension and a 4 stroke that has more torque that is more consistent in power regardless of rider weight. And why do adults ride little bikes you might ask because it's fun if it has to be explained you don't understand it's like asking why adults ride bmx

I’m 6’3 220, rode a dirtbike maybe 10 times in my life but never owned my own, looking to purchase my first one. I had the Ttr230 as my first choice but i saw the SSR189 new was about $2000 cheaper. Would this be a better (or about equal) option for me ?

@@codyfredrick1994 Lol, not true I took my Honda dirt bike thru 4 foot water two days ago, kept up with four wheelers. My bike doesn't want to pull wheelies past second gear now, but I just need to ride it more to get it unclogged. Try and take your 125 thru that and your magneto will be shot, Yamaha's and Honda's are simply better bud.

Im 5’ 11 and 155 pounds and im in between getting the 189 or 150. Itll be my first bike and i dont know what to choose. Any advice?

Well I've driven the 150 but not the 189.. the 189 does feel a little bigger sitting on it. I'm 6ft 215lbs. And the 150 totes me just fine. The 189 will give you a little bit more bottom end torque and acceleration

Hey man got a question. Just bought a 2021 sr125tr bw and brought it home and it won't idle for shit. Soon as you give it any throttle it dies out. Kinda irritating seeing as how it's got 0 miles on it lol

My first pit bike was a 110 a while back, my neighbors have it now lol but I get what you mean bud. The camera makes it look smaller than what it is in real life, I now ride a CRF150 and moving up to. a 125 2 stroke.

@@charliesparta7947 Now tell them how your mechanic uncorked it, changed the carb out, re sprung the front fork and putting heavier weighted oil in the forks, swapped out the rear shock, etc. etc. because stock these bike will not hang with any other Japanese 4 stroke on the market...I watched so many videos on the SSR 300 and major work was done on the bike to make it perform at a pro track riders level...450cc Japanese bikes will eat the 300cc SSR alive...

So we still giving money to the Chinese for chinesium? I’m tired of seeing these cheap bikes at shops. Seems like every shop has a line up of China bikes now and only a few yamahas or Suzuki’s

Chinese bikes been selling more new than other bikes according to a lot of bike shops in my area. Apparently There’s a lot of people (like me) looking to get into riding that want a dirtbike for simple flat trails, nothing serious. Makes more sense for us to pay $2800 for a SSR189 than $5500 for a CRF150, especially when they have the same top speed and similar features (adjustable suspension, electric start, etc.)

These bikes ain’t for MX pros (even tho there are pros on KZfaq that mod and race the SSR300) they’re for casual trail riders. I ride dirt bikes down wooded flat trails and in the street, my SSR189 can be wheelied, keeps up with my friends’ CRF150 & KX250, and doesn’t break down every month... that’s all I need, and the fact it cost half the price new, than what my friends paid to get those bikes used makes it all the better . This bike wasn’t made for MX pros that wanna race and go off 2 story jumps

@@kinnyboy That’s why it costs half the price of a Japanese bike, because it can’t perform with those bikes. SSR had to make a 300 to keep up with the 250 class so I doubt a 189 is keeping up with a KX250. Unless it’s a clapped out KX, then it’s understandable. Clapped out two strokes feel funny af lol

@@PeelePowered yea it cost half the price but is about the same “fun value” if you’re just riding trails and to wheelie in the street 😂. And my friends kx 250 only is about 8-10mph faster on flat street than mine. We’ve all used the same app to top speed our bikes. My new 2021 SSR189- maxed out at 62mph -$2300- so far have about 25 hours on it and just change oil Friends used 2018 CRF150- max at 66mph- $4600- has to change oil and air filter every 3 rides and has blown 2 spark plugs in 3 months Other friends used 2015 yearKX250f - max at 71mph- $6000- too many issues to name but he’s had his bike about 8 months. Like I said it may not superior but it keeps up and I haven’t had any issues so🤷🏾♂️. It’s good for the casuals who wanna ride bikes but don’t plan on going on any pro Mx jumps

No they are the worst dirtbikes ever! I made it my duty to find every post that promotes ssr dirtbikes and say they are the worst! Cheaply built/horrible customer service! Every other ride you have to replace a inner tube! Brand new the bike took atleast 10 kicks to crank! I bought this bike for my son (ssr70) brake line wore out after 10rides from rubbing on the tire! Combustion cycles are horrible with customer service! Better off spending the extra money to get a honda Kawasaki suzuki etc..even a used one is more reliable than a ssr! Worst bike i ever seen!

The hell is wrong with you? Your paying 1/2 the price. Expect to get 1/2 the bike. Except you don’t. These bikes are just fine if you (TAKE CARE) of them. I have a 140tr BW and it’s the best bike I’ve ever had...

Ive been handling them here the past few weeks, putting them together out of the crate and they seem to be just as good as other Japanese manufactures.. I just bought a 70 for my daughter and ill be seeing how it holds up. I really want the 300 soon.
