Agreed mate, I watched a few videos of the 2024 GR yaris and I have to say the small improvements really add up, the facia looks better, the interor and seating improvements, and apart from the odd looking dashboard shape it's pretty much a better car. Auto is a nice addition for those who want something more dailyable or to share with a non-manual-loving spouse haha

As much as I love my GR, I have always thought it would be massively better (for MY driving enjoyment) if it were a twin clutch. I come from audis and my wife drives a Skoda RS. I hear everyone going on and on about manuals and I get it but there is a reason that formula 1 and other top race categories use paddles, it's faster!! I was a little perturbed to hear it's going to be a torque converter but if Morizo has signed off on it, that's good enough for me! Really looking forward to test driving one, if they don't all get snapped up too quickly.

The upcoming 'evolved' GRY has a polarising dashboard layout but I don't think that will hurt sales, given the type of buyer.

That Rallye is still up on Carsales too so seems no one wants the 'old' car now, especially given the flood of them up for sale.

@@JasonISFMy heart sank when I saw the new dash. Really bad, but I can't go past the upgrades to the rest of the car, so I'll wait for the new one.

@@bcm70 it might be something you need to get used to, but at least it's designed for the purpose of the car, as the 'old' car just used the same dash as the granny spec Yaris.

Sorry you're right! I have an attachment problem 😂 I change cars every 1-2 years and don't tend to keep them long term to avoid depreciation and keep things fresh, experience new cars etc. Nothing really wrong with owning the Yaris long term though, comfortable enough for 1 or 2 people, fast and fun enough, reliable and quite efficient I averaged about 8 to 8.5L/100km (manual calculation and screen estimate are very similar). My next car will be the 2023 Civic Type R. Looks like I'm sticking with Japanese cars. I considered the Golf R, too tame. GR Corolla, too similar to Yaris and hard to get in Australia, and also i30n but doesn't have the safety features like LKA and radar cruise. Settled on the civic because I'm a honda fanboy and because of the reviews praising the interior quality and handling and rolling acceleration, basically better than the Yaris in most regards except in drag races and wet conditions. The Civic is similar to the previous gen I admit, but looks, interior wise I think it's a nice jump. It's a good selection we have for hot hatches and all of them would probably be a blast to drive and can go well as daily cars.

Worries about depreciation. Proceeds to sell and buy cars at the highest depreciation point possible. Car dealers love you Enjoy the new Honda, My Integra and Gr Yaris say hi

@@Niko-qs1sl not every decision is logical 😂 some of them the heart makes. I'd pin it down to the type r charm and probably the better handling. You're right, depreciation is worst in the first 3 years. Sweet setup! That's close to what my dream garage would look like. An awd for daily or wet weather and a fwd for the weekends
