I never did this sport but anyone who does has my respect. These guys receive and deliver devastating shots with 0 protection yet they both seem completely unfazed.

The "Mas" way is brutal and a short span of power. Unlike American competition, judges here dont stop to award points. No padding no gear...these guys are tough...but I have seen them in their 50's and all were tired and beat up from a few years of greatness in their 20's.

I hate that like TKD, they keep their hands low. Should keep the guard up at all times.

Low standards. These guys would get killed up against the frank Russo's and judd reid just to name a couple. Knocked out under 30 seconds.

@James Young What a ridiculous comparison, Sensei Russo and Reid are world class fighters, legends in the sport. If your going to compare, effort and spirit would be more of a balance.

@@Ronin-tp4vx both are mates of mine. I trained with Frank under sensei ishi. And under Frank when ishi sensei went back to Japan. What i am getting at is the standard in Australia is down. I think to many dojo operators are not interested in pushing their students. How can we be called the strongest karate now. Gary placed 4th in 95. When will we produce another like him.
