Thanks for the review. Great information. Ordered the FX HO 2021. Did yours come with the upgraded tow hook. Yours looks like the one on the older models; no small hook. Yamaha web page listed features say it the tow hook is new upgraded version. Loved the videos out on the water; the wave jumping, and run up the coast. Awesome! Have watched them a couple of times.

Thanks Donald! I think you are correct the information does say that it has the upgraded tow hook but unfortunately my just has a standard d-ring. I know there's an upgrade aftermarket kit that I may be putting on there very soon. Great catch!

Thanks for review I just put a deposit down on 2022 model but am on the fence whether I should buy SVHO model instead. I just want to cruise and don't care about going that fast so am thinking supercharger isn't needed.
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
If speed is not a concern the FX really has good fuel consumption. If you think you may want to go faster in the future above 65 ish I would get the svho

Would you mind measuring the length of the trailer and width with the ski? I’m trying to determine if it will fit in my garage with my KTM bike as well. Thanks

Larry here from NY, I just bought a pair of 2021 FX Cruiser HO’s and I’m starting to outfit them. They are in storage so I don’t have access to them at the moment but could you tell me if inside the glove box the front side where they usually mount the power port is flat or curved, I’m thinking of mounting a 4x6 inch blue sea switch panel there thanks.. Larry
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
So i just went out there and looked at it. When looking at the glovebox, the left and right side are flat. The front and back are curved and there is no way to mount a 4x6 panel there. Wish i could add a pic to this comment

Nice video! Im debating between the FX HO and the FX SVHO. Now that you had some time with the FXHO do you wish you had more power? What has been your longest distance you have traveled before needing to fill up.
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For open ocean riding the fxho with the stage 1 kit is fine, the gas consumption is great compared to supercharged skis. If you are doing mostly lake riding I would get the svho

Stay away from the 21 hulls with Yamaha. Everyone that has one in my club has delaminated and Yamaha has not been backing up the warranty to fix it like they should. I sold my Yamaha and bought a Kawasaki supercharged. Much happier. I had a 2022 svho come in but they wanted over 25k 😔

I am a first time ski buyer narrowed it down to a Seadoo GTX or a Yamaha FX HO (I prefer normally aspirated engine) - People on Facebook groups are complaining that the FX tends to spray water over the ski in choppy water - can you give me your impressions?
@so-caladv11792 жыл бұрын
I did put a pump wedge on it to bring up the front a little bit and that definitely helped. Stock it was a little wet when trim was level

So did Yamaha not make any changes to FX HO from 2020 and 2021?
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Does not seem as if there are many changes besides to colors for this year, same hull, same motor.
@wadesteven42703 жыл бұрын
What was the breakin process you used? Thanks
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Hey Wade, can't remember exactly but roughly Break in takes 1 hour and 35 minutes 5 mins under 2k rpm, 30 minutes under 5k and 1 hr under 6k. I stayed under 6k for about 2 hrs actually and then did an oil and filter change immediately, cheap insurance I suppose

The FX non svho all have the same horsepower. If it says svho then it's the turbocharged version. The naturally aspirated all have the same power

Nice to see a 2021 FX Cruiser HO on the West coast. The Hawaii Yamaha dealer still isn’t sure when the 2021’s wii be arriving in Hawaii (still waiting) ):

Hi Mike, hopefully Hawaii will be getting them soon! I've been looking for a new watercraft on the west coast for months and this is the only one I found. I just stumbled upon it in a Motorsports store and they just put it out the day before then sold out the day after. Super hard to come by right now.

Great video! Is there a noticeable difference going from the gti to fx in rough water? I ride on a lake with heavy boat traffic and my 18 gti se 155 likes to get pushed around and doesn’t like to cut through the waves very well. Thanks
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Great question. I had a GTI 155 and there is a noticeable difference in offshore riding. Hands down the FX hull deals with the chop better. The reason I got rid of mine was that that specific year and model had the carbon ring issue. Doing as much offshore riding as I do I didn't want to take that chance so I sold it.
@klo9103 жыл бұрын
Excellent! That’s what I wanted to hear. What year had the carbon ring problem? How fast does the fx go? I can get 57 on a perfectly calm day but 55-56 regularly.
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
@@klo910 I'm not sure exactly what year is it affected, but I believe mine was a 2016, it was a while ago so I forgot. so the base top speed for the fxho naturally aspirated is around 57 miles per hour. After I put the stage one kit on there I'm in the mid to higher 60s. I was keeping up with my buddies rxpx260 😁. My GTI was a good ski & I do like Sea-Doos but the FX hull just handles so well in the rough water. So much so that even with the naturally aspirated ski I can hang in there for much longer so I'm generally at the front when in group rides cuz everyone falls back when it gets rough 🤣

@@so-caladv1179 Did a few mods and had a flash done to my ecu. Before the flash the speedometer said 61 with a gps reading of 59.7 after the flas I’m getting a gps reading of 64 but the speedometer still only says 61. Did you have this problem or does your speedometer read above 61? Thanks
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Yes the speedometer does not go above 61 even though it's going faster than that. I had to pitch my impeller to 12/16 to get the RPMs down from hitting the limiter at 8400. What do your RPMs show?

Hey man I have a question for you. I just got my ski and took it out today. However towards the end my ski was low on gas and the engine became a bit rough compared to when I first drove it. Do you think the low on fuel is related to such an issue?
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
Did you go through the proper break-in procedure? See what I did was follow the break-in procedure and put Lucas Oil fuel additive just for extra precaution in the beginning and then I did a 3-hour oil change. I do know what you're talking about the ski feeling a bit rough, today I made the same comment to one of my buddies because we went spearfishing. No issues though so interesting to hear another person say the same thing. Maybe it's just the ski and it will smooth out later. It seems in the lower RPMs something felt off

Why the fx over a gp
@so-caladv11793 жыл бұрын
The hull on the FX is for big chop. The GP is mainly for closed course or smaller chop. Both have their benefits
