I'll go first:
I'm Kaela, a Homeschool Graduate turned Homeschool Momma of two girls. We are a Latino family, living our best life in a little 1930s fixer-upper in Texas. Although we are a family of faith, we typically stick to secular resources in our homeschool. I love homeschooling, pretty books, dance breaks, and turning my humble abode into a home. ✨✨ I'm a little shocked we are headed to 3rd Grade! I feel like we were *just* learning ABCs in those tot school days, like yesterday! Excited for a new chapter and to try some new things out. Are you trying anything new in the upcoming homeschool year? ✨✨

Yep, the shock grows each year - my oldest turns 28 later this year... And it's gone by far too quickly.

"Halfway through elementary school" for 3rd grade made me full stop 😩 We are just wrapping up 3rd here for my oldest and I never looked at it that way, but you're so right! I remember kindergarten like yesterday. I think the paragraph editor book by Evan Moor looks fantastic. I think my son would really love practicing grammar from that point of view, rather than writing and having his work corrected.

Loved seeing your picks. All About Reading and Dimensions Math really are an amazing.....I definitely want to look into those spelling curriculums.

I would love to see a video on how u make ur daily/weekly schedule using the 2022-23 curriculum!! I have the hardest time once I hav the curriculum making out my daughters schedule for the day/week!!!

Great choices! I think you made the right choice with 2nd EIW. I also agree supplement the Evan Moore Daily Paragraph editing. I, too was just reviewing the Evan Moore Daily Paragraph Editing, and have both the student notebook and the teacher--with-answer-key volumes both in my cart. I also have a kiddo who likes workbooks. It's a great age to reinforce those skills and the "Daily" will help keep those skills sharp, especially since EIW's schedule does break it up. I'm considering between 2nd and 3rd for my riding 3rd grader, but think I'm agreeing with you on getting 2nd. I'm considering mixing up the schedule a bit and primarily utilizing the writing portion. I also will be watching for your 180 Days Spelling review, though I'm pretty sold on using Spellwell Aa by Nancy Hall (of the famed Explode the Code, which we love). We also will be doing All About Reading and Literature lap books from Confessions of a Homeschooler for read-a-louds.

@@OdetoAbode COH's Classic Literature Units are very affordable, downloadable pdfs. She has easy to follow instructions video to assemble the lapbooks. She also has free grade by grade reading lists and printable logs.

We are wrapping up a 3rd grade year in the next couple weeks. We tried EIW level 3 and I found it to be just what we needed. It was nice to have the short video lessons to mix up the day. Some people complain about all the front loaded grammar work but my reluctant writer needed that time to get on board with writing paragraphs. We also used Singapore Math but their Primary 2022 level 3. It really helped explain what multiplication and division was but to get to the rote memorization level, I brought in Times Tales which was amazing for us.
