I think acura and Honda make phenomenal vehicle. You really get excellent engineering at a much lower cost than the Germans. American barnyard engineering is good too but they don't have the same quality for most of their vehicles. I choose to work for acura because I love their products and of their products and I've had over 60 hondas over the years

I work for the largest Infiniti dealer in the world as well and Nissan hasn't been what they used to after their CEO's spectacular debacle and the French Renault merger. We're expecting to have Infiniti Re structure soon and we don't know exactly what's going to happen

That's a nice color combo. I recommend you get yourself a bottle of lexol leather conditioner cleaner. Overtime it will stain and it's very tough to remove without re dying leather

No, put in what your car is tuned for. Higher grade gas can get you better hp not better mpg.

most people notice a slight mpg difference on lower grade gas. But mostly upper end horsepower which most people never use

I would like to emphasize that I believe I saw in other reviews of features of the new MDX, that 87 Octane (even you state that), yet the car's manual states Minimum Octane is 91?? If the manual is correct, then I will stick to 93 Octane premium fuel at every other fill up (1/2 tank minium).

So the trade off is spend about $.40 a gallon more for 93 Octane for more "power" vs increased MPGs. The dilemma that is not mentioned is, it clearly states in the manual it is recommended that minimum 91 Octane fuel should be used? Closest fuel to that is Premium Fuel with 93 Octane. At least around here in NY Metro area. I am retired at 70 yo, with some time on my hands. I'll experiment with the fuel types to see if there are differences that can be discerned. For the record, I have the new MDX SINCE 8/20. I would venture to say that the car was delivered with a full tank of Regular gas by the dealer. To date I have 205 miles on the clock ( aaaahhhhh no more commuting), and just put in about 10 gallons of Premium gas when there was about 150 miles on the clock. All primarily local suburban driving , no real highway travel.

So what's the octane rating represents is how much compression the fuel will take before it spontaneously combusts. All that an engine is is a glorified air compressor. Turbo or superchargers or larger displacement engines have more power because they can squeeze more air. The only other way to gain power is by using a higher octane fuel which can be squeezed more. more pressure equals more horsepower. More energy can be taken out of each stroke. Using a lower octane fuel, The car's knock sensor will determine that the fuel is detonating before the allotted time so it will advance the timing of the spark plug of the spark plug thus preventing the engine from harm and getting lower horse power And feel economy. Hopefully that's not too in depth

MrStarman 1978, Just got my new 2022 MDX Advance yesterday : Fathom Blue Pearl / Graystone interior , hate to use the word LOVE for a car, but I really LIKE it !!! I'm in NY , Westchester County. Got mine at Curry Acura ... I priced it at 4 dealers . Got pretty much 4 different quotes Overall. I traded my 2019 Leased MDX Advance with 10 months left on the lease. There was "equity" of $2500 (If I could have sold it on the Street - it was probably more , like $5000 IMO), Plus the $1k Loyalty offered by Acura (which is just a simple discount against the MSRP), paid taxes, fees, and add'l $1500 Cap cost for a $600 lease payment - hey, they are not cheap. my advice is to shop , however, under current market conditions and vehicle shortages due to CHIP shortages for all car makers , there is very little wiggle room. I saw the Blue one on Acurazine - Acura Blog site - from one poster and although there are very Few Blue ones on the street, it convinced me to get it , particularly bc of the Graystone interior. But I did see the Liquid Carbon Platinum color on the dealer's floor . The car looks best in the LCP color as it really accentuates the car's exterior lines. But I don't want a black interior, parchment is nicer in my subjective opinion. But the dealers have limited amount of models. I got bit by the New Car Bug , and at 69 YO, should have known better, but I said What The Hell, go for it (if you can, and I could), Life is Short. So I got the FBP color, and I will enjoy it. I never really Followed the Pack anyway !!! Good Luck, delaer hopping is a PIA , but may be worth getting 3 prices IMHO. There are Good Doctors and Bad Doctors.....There are Good Plumbers and Bad Plumbers.... There are Good Car Dealers, and Bad Car Dealers.... Be well.
