Which hot hatch would you choose if not an Audi RS3. The New 2022 Audi RS3 - Is it the best hot hatch money can buy? On paper this new Kyalami green Audi RS3 is top of the class when it comes to performance in the hot hatch category but is it as good as the numbers suggest? With the current crop of hotter than ever hatches being blisteringly fast and having lots of party tricks with clever four wheel drive systems and "drift modes" this new RS3 has some stiff competition. Can the rivals such as Mercedes-Benz with the A45, Ford's RS products, and other offerings from the VW group get anywhere near this 400hp little monster. At just over £60,000 as tested that might seem like a lot of money but when you put it next to its bigger brother the Audi RS6 it looks like a little bargain. @@Motorflix This particular rev meter looks like a triangle, narrow at the top and wider at the bottom. Audi has red/higher rev indicator in the wider area (coming towards the driver) because it is more evident here. Not many of us would want to drive our beloved car in the red zone for longer/continuous periods (it will kill the engine sooner), and may also cause an accident. Further, psychologically speaking, we are more attentive/alert when something is coming towards us not going away - I see this as clever sensible designing.

Just ordered mine. Costs more than it should at the minute, I was paying less for a 21 RS5 carbon black only in October. I sold it for more than expected though so it’s not too bad. Looking forward to it.

Had 38mpg from my new RS3 when doing a leisurely run to the coast. Good review and nice to hear someone not moaning about the interior, as I think it's nice too. Only issue - that car I think is a launch edition. You really want the flat bottom steering wheel in an RS, mine has it - tango red carbon edition with rs dynamic pack... had to get the brake callipers painted red though - as grey was the only option in the UK! Had mine 4 weeks and seriously impressed, even sounds great too - people saying it sounds like a vacuum cleaner, clueless... it has a soft limiter, but once you get rolling it is surprisingly vocal and I suspect will only get better - as my TTRS with OPF did.

I knew it would get higher MPG. 👍🏻 I really liked it. Thought it sounded great and looked great too. Think with a saucy exhaust it would be even better.

Good feedback mate and pleasing to hear about the mpg at a leisurely run. All I ever read normally are people complaining about how high the fuel burn is although in the same sentence banging on about flooring it everywhere 🤦‍♂️ Cheers and enjoy your new motor 👍

First that gonna fly out when i get one are those fake seats this is how audi rips ppl off back in the day you got recaros nowadays you get bad race seats made by audi and the dsg is outdated by far not as fast shifting as the a45s the audi still hasn't impoved the chassis to be a proper sportscar btw still has to put 265 in front and a smaller one on the back don't start saying oh its for the weight at the front if they fixed the 58/42 weight distribution and put a attesa 4x4 in it you would have a way better car

The recaros in the B7 RS4 were the bollocks. The gearbox is good, I can’t comment on the A45 as I haven’t driven it but when I do I will revert. Chassis is spot on in my opinion, yes you get a bit of understeer if you are really pushing but, I don’t know that many people will get to that point. For normal “road performance” it was superb!! 👍🏻

@@Motorflix not saying its no good but take a look in the a45s compared to the rs3 its a well made car but 10kmore thing is what i said in the comments for prob being the last rs3 they could have done a better job .

@@Motorflix recaros of today half carbon and a seat that hugs your full body would be👌 if the merc whas 70k id buy that one just a bit scared a 4cyl running 2bar boost from stock not mutch more room without the worrie that it won't make it 7years

True. But I bet they have run them way higher to check where they blow. New M3/4 seats are the best and obviously 918 Porsche seats. But they are different gravy.

@@LB83. You know the saying. Put your money where your mouth is. I traded my A45s in for the RS3Y and would not got back. The Audi is the superior daily by country miles imo. The A45s bucket seats, it's harsh ride, fake engine noise and very loud tyre/road noise made every drive of +1h annoying. The RS3 in contrast is a really comfortable daily and weekend racer at the same time.

Not sure I am the moron here. It is the definition of a hot hatchback. It is fast, and is a hatchback. If you can’t afford one that isn’t Audis fault. They sell lots of them so people obviously don’t think they are too expensive. 🤷🏻‍♂️
