50k goes into the manufacturing and parts, 80k to gahmen, and 100k for the BMW logo.

Lol! Such exclamations have been increasingly common for me too. Not just car prices, but looking at property prices too. 134bhp just gets this car into the CAT B range, and for that it’s another $30k extra for that 4bhp excess. Very premium pricing for what is meant to be a family oriented car.

Nice sporty design especially in this colour. Too bad wrong timing. Desmond also becoming better and appearing more confident and natural in front of camera. I recalled watching your first video doing the Alpine A110 review. Now I look forward to your video reviews. Keep it up!

Happy to get a 1.6, 180bhp ride for less than half the price 2 years back. But this 218i is still a very nice ride. Pity the COE…

Don't think the price would bother customers who are mainly buying for the brand. Perfect for the average family, frugal on petrol, perky enough and more room than a hatchback. Just kinda odd that it's just 3 Cylinder, same as the Attrage vs Bezza that has a 4 Cylinder set-up. Please do a comparison of the Attrage and Bezza 🙏

Why can’t bmw detune the 2 series a little to fit inside the Cat A COE? I think majority will not mind a little sacrifice in performance.

Did I hear it wrongly that the host pronounced 218 as "Two eighty" instead of "Two eighteen"? Or maybe that's the German way of calling it?
