B58 pushes this SUV to 0-60 to a genuine 4.1-4.2 second and also getting 30mpg + having 60 something cargo space this vehicle is actually the best in the business - no joke, no other SUV can do what this car can do given the trade off between MPG and HP

just took our 2024 X3 M40i on a road trip, 4 adults with a full boot and we averaged 31-32 MPG during the trip. Absolutely incredible considering what else this car can do!

The flip side to the "great job BMW" is their X3M model..most struggle to see 18mpg on the highway. I had one for a year. I averaged 16mpg. I didn't buy it for fuel mileage, but given it's 17 gallon tank, I was constantly filling up ..so pathetic. I owned a E63s wagon that saw 26 and that had 603HP

I can get 33.9 on my way back home. NJ highway normal traffic. state route and parkway 28 best in the morning.

@@danraj23ful The secret is I replaced the factory tires with continental DWS, much softer and less noise. pothole is not an issue anymore.

I think you forgot to mention a key point about this model - it has a 48v mild hybrid system that assits that b58 engine. Not a major efficiency helper but definitely something to call out.

I drove my ‘23 on a recent 283-mile trip pushing 80 mph. My average was 30.8 mpg in comfort mode. Horsing around in Sports+ on winding country roads is a different story but it’s a lot of fun.

In my real world driving in the X3 M40i over more than 40000km was 10.1 Litres per 100km. Before that I had an X3 30i which averaged about 9.4 - similar driving conditions. The B58 engine in the M40i is a gem, but not ultra thrifty - mine is a 2021 model so perhaps not as thrifty as the facelift version.

With 382hp costs 20mpg which is the best of the best, I love my 2018 M40i x3 and really love it better than all suv even x5 x7. X5 back seats don't recline, x7 recline but accelerate bad, only this model make all. When it speeds up max that makes us easy to handle or control the steering wheel and feel confident going up mountain at 10k ft easily.

Is true man USA and Europe analysis say is real economy this v6 vs sny others is very smooth very good on class economy performance everything is positive.ah i forget Acura v6 with 10 speed automatic all say good economy and smooth faster nice sound no noise this v6 both best engine.

Love this channel, question for you tho, I've been trying to figure out how to calculate it but it's been so long since I've had higher level math my brain is like "nah." My question is how much better does the MPG have to be on a premium gas car to make it cheaper on gas than a lower MPG non-premium required car?

Take your price of premium, ($5 for easy math), and divide it by the price of reg ($4 for easy math). Then take that result and multiply it by the mpg of your regular gas car. That's how good the premium car would need to be to equal it. Let's say $5/$4 = 1.25. A car that gets 28 mpg on regular, times 1.25, would cost the same to drive as a car that got 35 mpg on premium.

There are packages that you can pick and chose from. This specific package doesn’t have traffic alert/ACC.

I think you should be driving this in Comfort mode, if hypermile-ing is not the objective. No one is driving in eco pro day to day on these

Bro i am frome hometown Germany. So 71 mph are approx. 110 km/h her in europe. Car consumpen on 110 km/h cruise control is 9,1 l /100 km ? Wow this is very high consumption for a 110 km/h ride. Modern nowadays cars her ein europe onnat speed...bout 6 Litre / 100 km/h. Yes no 1,8 ton SUV but anyways...9,1 on cruise control 110 km/h is bad consumption. For a 400 hp car.. maybe ok but...

It’s almost 400HP… that’s what it takes! If you do much highway it’s better to get the M40d offering consumption as low as 6-7 l/100km

Having to use Premium gas is a no buy for me when buying a new car. With todays technology any new car should be designed to run on regular 87 octane gasoline.

Not really as all bmws are required to use premium as it can’t use any lower fuel grade as it will create knock and heavy power depletion and also it could consume the fuel more aswell.

Regular 87 octane is terrible for any car that uses a turbo. You will not find any hybrids that use turbo's and can use 87 octane with their rated HP. Sure you can put it in, but it'll run terrible. If you want to use the lowest grade gas possible, you shouldn't be driving a new car.
