2022 Buick Enclave Avenir Review / Buick Going Back to its Luxury Roots

In recent years, Buick has been focused on making only crossover SUVs that harken back to the luxury years of Buick’s history. The pinnacle of their efforts is the 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir. So is this SUV something you should consider over an Acura or an Infiniti?
The 2022 Enclave is only available with a 3.6L V6 engine. It can produce 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque (231 kW & 361 Nm). With the Enclave Avenir tipping the scales at 2,125 kg (4,685 lbs), this engine has more than enough power to pull the SUV. The peak torque is at a surprisingly low 2,800 rpms which is an rpm range that is normally associated with turbocharged engines, not naturally aspirated. Because of this, the V6 never feels as though it’s straining.
The 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir AWD is rated for 13.6 L/100km (17.3 MPG) in a city and 9.6 L/100km (24.5 MPG) on a highway. I managed to average 11.6 L/100km during my time with the Enclave. An impressive feat thanks to not only the transmission but also the active fuel management system which allows the engine to run on four cylinders while cruising.
The Buick Enclave 2022 AWD starts at $50,098 CAD ($43,995 USD, FWD) with this Avenir trim costing $62,943 CAD ($58,645 USD) as equipped.

I just purchased a 2022 Enclave for my family-I am 42, married, 3 kids ages 3-6. Typical USA car customers. I chose the enclave over other 3 row SUV's because of the vast amount of cargo space behind the 3rd row. We love it! So many safety features, so many features, rides exceptionally well, regular unleaded gas. I am unsure why there are not more on the road, but everyone I have spoken with who owns an enclave loves it.

Mid 30's and 2 kids here. We bought a 24' Avenir for the same reasons and LOVE it.

We just bought a 2022 Buick Enclave and it was the dealership demo, it has every option the Avenier has but the touring button...only 7000 miles...we love it

Very good job explaining the vehicle. I bought my wife a 2022 Buick enclave Avenir and we absolutely love it. It’s quiet,roomy,spacious, and has lots of features. It is lacking in the screen size. GM needs to make a bigger screen for it. And it does need more cupholders. But all in all very nice SUV.

We bought a 22 avenir and have had two prior enclaves. It is actually quite astonishing how useful the set of included features are. Very little that does not get used or adds value. The only feature my wife turned off on the 22 Avenir is the auto high beams. No stupid useless features - I don’t need to talk to the car to tell it to change interior lighting colors and pay 90k (Mercedes sales guy loved that useless feature). It is a little prettier and possibly more feminine than an Acadia or Escalade - very understated. My wife looks great in it and seems to like it very much. Downside is that it’s pricey and you have the usual GM quirks you have deal with (some quality annoyances on fit and finish). Agree with you the steering is a little too light feeling and driver and front passenger leg room is tighter than older enclaves. Other than that it’s awesome.

Although GM did a great job with the Enclave I'm left wondering if GM really made this suv a Cadillac and offered what Buick is clearly missing at this price point, a power drivers moonroof shade, auto up and down on all windows, rear window shades, 3rd row recline feature, 2nd row cooled seats, standard rearview camera mirror, keypad entry, standard wireless charger etc. to point out a few. Buick shouldn't exist. GM should just have Chevy, GMC and Cadillac. Even GMC is redundancy, but I guess GM loves to compete with itself 🤙🏽🇺🇲

I think that there aren't too many on the road because the car has little in the way of character, it isnt flashy, it isnt sporty, lux yes but caddys do that better. This being said, I love mine.

But the Envision doesn't have 3-rows. Though I'm sure that the next generation of the Enclave will have the same tech & features of the current Envision.
