I had a 2001 Chevy Express cargo Van 1 ton with a Spartan body out of San Diego on it. 10 ft long 5 and 1/2 ft tall 5 ft across. It was awesome I could put sheets of drywall or plywood in standing up or laying down and still have plenty of room in front and on the side of it. What an incredible handyman van that was.

My tool boxes on the outside had a slide bolt that would lock them all in seconds with a huge heavy-duty padlock on there that was never once broken into when I had it. However people tried to.. as the locks on the outside are very weak and easy to damage and when you see when all damage when you come back from your home Depot trip you know nefarious shit went down.

I have one of these but the tool boxes on the side actually had a slide bolt that you could padlock from the back and lock them all up in one second far more secure than those little wimpy pedestrian locks that those doors have on the toolbox have.

@@CarsMadeSimple I always felt much safer using that method than those cheap pedestrian locks that are on the tool boxes that all you need is a hammer and a screwdriver to knock out in less than 5 seconds. But at nighttime I would always locked both locks. But when I go to Home Depot or The LumberYard I would just put the slide bolts and because it takes too long to go through there and lock every single lock when you have about 12 different separate toolboxs..

have the same truck with the lower knap box , great ruck, more than enough power , would not like to have to pull my 40 ft ladder off of this truck

Never buy a work vehicle under a 3500 if you're going to put that big of a body on it

You also want that 6.6 L small block 400 with 401 horsepower to move that beast around.

Those Knapheide bodies don't weigh that much. I have a chassis cab configuration with the ten foot 72" dually. That body weighs in at about 2000 lbs. A typical pickup bed is about 1400 to 1500 lbs. So not a lot of difference. You're better off spending a little more to get the one ton. The GVW of that particular truck is 9900 lbs. Which is great as you fall under the 10,001 mark that requires you to get a Medical card. And you have to equip your truck to DOT standards.
