Just purchased a ‘22 HD custom 2500 with the 6.6 gas engine as well. Loving it. I have previously owned a 2013 2500hd with the 6.0 vortec and I can honestly say the ‘22 ride is way more comfortable even empty than the 2013. Great review and yes I agree it has plenty of power to tow. Big difference compared to the 6.0 vortec although that was a great truck as well

I can’t find any negative info out there on the new 6.6 gas engine. Thankfully GM left off the cylinder deactivation junk that has been problematic in the 1500s. None of that stop/start silliness at traffic lights either. GM seems to have a winner with this engine. No silly names like “Godzilla” like Ford uses. GM is getting nearly as much power as Godzilla using 6.6 liters instead of 7.3 and doing it with better fuel mileage.

I know when you buy the truck new the mpg screen should be able to reset just like the trip read out. You should be able to hold down on dial and it will reset to your driving for a more accurate reading of current mpg.

Are there black bowties to replace the gold one for the multi flex tailgate? Hate that gold bowtie! But I Love the custom because it’s basic enough not to have all the elaborate tech features but advanced enough to have everything the average owner needs, plus gives you a middle seat for an extra person as well as being AFFORDABLE. Custom is the sweet spot!

No they do not because the 6.6L Gasser does not have the Active Fuel Management, so the Cam Lobes are different. My understanding is only the AFM engines have the lifter issue.
