We’re redoing our master bath and I’m struggling to find the perfect green. During the day the large Payne window lets a lot of natural light in which tends to wash most colors out but we also have a lot of shadowed space... we’re using a marble tile on the shower wall, light grey color on the floor and we found a beautiful flat pebble stone for the shower floor with some forestry green/ emerald green stones with a washed out wood vanity, Black accents in the shower head and faucets. Help?!

Of the last two like he figures most people might prefer October Mist like I also prefer, I think but I haven’t watched the Olive Sprig video yet and maybe I’ll change my mind. #question: anyone know if the couch in October Mist is gray or blue? I have a light navy blue sofa like mid-toned blue jeans and honey oak trim and ceiling (🤮) and need to know if October Mist would fair well. Anyone?
@thepaintpeople2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, it's tough to say without seeing it all together, but the couch is a blue/gray and I personally like a variety of blue/green combos. October Mist does look nice with earth tones so I think it could look nice with the honey oak, but again, best to try a bit on the wall near the couch and literally sit with it. :)

Do you think October Mist with an LRV 46 be too dark for a entryway/hallway? The entryway gets quite a bit of natural light but leads into a hallway without much natural light so I'm confused as how dark I should go. I like deeper colours in general (living room is Sussex Green - LRV 19) but I don't want the whole house to feel TOO dark...Thanks!!
@thepaintpeople2 жыл бұрын
Hi April! I don't think it's too dark, especially if you are getting some natural light. I think it will look lovely regardless. And Sussex Green is very close to Gloucester Sage which Benjamin Moore has on its palette for October Mist so it should pair well. For other more saturated color choices that pair well with October mist, you could have a look at High Park for something darker, or Wild Flower if you want to tap into some red/orange vibes. :)

How do I ensure that greeniege doesn’t turn mint on me
@thepaintpeople2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathy, there's several factors to consider, your lighting, what the undertones are, what else is in the space etc. Because even with something like green, you can have a colder, blue undertone green, or a warmer yellow undertone one. So, if your room is north facing for example, northern light is cooler (meaning it could make the walls look more blue/green) so you can compensate for that by going warmer with your paint colors, or with the lighting you choose in your home. Your best bet is to test colors at various times of the day to see how they respond.
@aldeanriddy35122 жыл бұрын
I am a bit concerned about yellow being an undertone in your pick for green, colour for 2022, due to many different woods (traditional home has some red in wood panels) which also has more colours. Grey stone fireplace, pink undertone tiles,
@thepaintpeople2 жыл бұрын
I think green/grays look great with woods. You could also look for a cooler color if you're concerned about the yellow. In terms of the pink undertone tiles, finding grays with a bit of red might pacify those tiles a bit. I did just do a video on grouges kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jMqamZqSs7zGoX0.html

This makes me a little sad. THESE ARE ALL GRAYS with hints of green!! Ok, well, not the avocado, but it still pretty washed out. Just saying. I'm done with millennial gray. Also white-on-white. Both are making me go a little snow-blind. Recently, I was a guest in a living room with massive windows that looked out into a wooded lot. The walls were painted a super-saturated emerald, a dark, forest green. Lots of depth in the color. Room seemed to be different colors, depending on whether a wall was in sunlight, lamplight, or shadow. The hue did not appear to be grayed down with lampblack. The effect was to highlight the outdoors-coming-in through the windows. Spectacular. Not for every room in every home, but it is leading me to look at richer wall color.

I want you to have a laugh out loud moment dear sir. You are probably familiar with Jackson Galaxy, the guy that's the cat person and he's overly dramatic and talks about our cats and what we are supposed to do so they won't/our throats in the middle of the night. And between him, and you it is always a hoot. Then we got the deal guy up in Candela talks about for 10 best thing you should be buying a certain month at Aldi's or target or Costco. He's a hoot. And then a couple of the decorators, Garrett LaChuc is a mess. But he's so delightful with his dogs and he's just super helpful (@ times.) and he appreciates interesting blues in his home. So he loves the interesting contrast is very mid-century modern and conventional. Which is fine. and you got Nick up in Canada who is quite on ask in ideas. Kiva is wonderful. All of the others just seem like I don't know maybe they're too young for me or something. I happen to like some logic behind something that I should consider. So I come to you. Ha ha. . So there are some great people out there and I appreciate you being one of my favorites. And that meant absolutely nothing towards Evergreen Fog but that's still my vote. Thanks
