The STX is really all of the truck that anyone would need, honestly. Truck prices are out of control right, so much so that base trucks are now $50K! Insane times we live. Its interesting that the Powerboost is unavailable on the STX, since Andrey on TFL Truck actually has the base XL with that powertrain. That said, the 2.7 is a great engine. It doesn't receive all of the notoriety of the Coyote or 3.5, but it is truly a sleeper and pretty decent on fuel.

Back in 2009 I had a f150 xlt, and this is miles ahead of that. What an upgrade.

Personally I like the STX package it does give the truck a more sportier look . Realistic value under $40,000 but with the market adjustment we look more into $48,000 with a very few additional options. Every low trim truck that's listed above $40,000 isn't worth looking at it in my opinion.

For good looks, features and value, the STX is probably the best truck out there. The only thing wrong with them is availability. My dealer hasn't had one in stock for a year.

Hi Car Confections Can You Make The 2022 Ford F-150 XLT Sport Appearance Package

I always owned Ram trucks but they can go kick rocks with the prices they want. I ordered a Ford F-150 XLT Sport but I don't know if I want the 5.0 or the 3.5 V6 twin turbo. Dealership is looking for both for me with the options I want. My friend got lucky when I found a canceled order for a 2022 Ford F-250 diesel fully loaded but paid over $80k dollars for it. I really like the new Ford F-150. I'll find what I want.

My boss has this exact same truck but her F-150 is that moonrock grey and she got that Coyote 5.0 in her one.

Got the same truck 2022 f150 SXT 4x4 but it has the 360 camera package and the class IV towing package w/ trailer back up assist.

Just bought one and I like it so far. Does not have the bells and whistles but I’m okay with that. I just hope that it lasts long time

The fog lights are only available for the STX if you opt for the 20” rims or the STX back appearance package. Also the basic Ford Copilot 360 with blind spot monitoring is an available add on with the XL STX package. Ford Copilot 360 assist with adaptive cruise control is not available on any XL, you have to move up the the XLT or higher to have that option.

I found a well equipped 2021 STX FX4 , tow pkg., 36 gallon, tailgate step, [$41k] 15000 miles and I dont mind the base model. A big difference from the 2020 I am glad it has the lumbar manual adjust . I added a leather steering wheel for $200, keypad on the door, bed lighting, tailgate assist. Great value for a new model 150

I always liked the exhaust pipe coming out the back side and not out the back bumper. Ram does it that way and I don't care for it. But I'm leaving Dodge for Ford.

i came here to check out this F-150 and i get a 7 second ad for Chevy lol, what are the odds that happens. I've had Chevy trucks in the past, but I've always had better luck with Ford. my 98 F-150 refused to die, the old 4.6, but the new F-150 is even nicer in person. i still haven't warmed up to the grill yet but im getting. $48.000 thousand isn't exactly what I'd call affordable, id say it's lower than the other trims. I'd probably just go with the XL like my 2011.

Snagged mine on presidents day. MSRP was $47,500 but got holiday promo $2500 below msrp for a total sales price of $45k. After sales tax it was just under $48k out the door. It sounds like a lot, but I was able to get the promo 0% Apr for four years which made everything balance out beautifully. I felt really good about it considering the let's go Brandon market that we live in. If you took out a 6 year loan at 5% for the same truck in 2018 you'd have paid the same at the end of your loan that I paid for mine by the end of my loan. God forbid you took out an 8 year loan at a higher rate! Also considering what's happened to the stock market I am glad my money is in the truck and not the stock market, so I didn't lose any opportunity cost on the short term loan. If anything I'm coming out ahead. Also for reference compare a Silverado WT or even a Silverado Custom to a F-150 XL with STX and you will see that this truck is a far cry from being a "work truck".

You said this base model doesn’t have any active safety systems. It has pre-collision assist, lane monitoring, cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors. Can you help me understand what you meant by your comment? This model years SXT is better equipped than the 13th generation’s XLT trim. I know I own(ed) both and this SXT is very well equipped.

The 2022 ford F 150 STX looks alright

Just bought a 22 STX today. Yea prices have gone up but for the money and knowing it won't be long you won't touch a new truck for under 50k. Truck stickered for 48 but got them to knock $3000 off that. Didn't think that was too bad for all the talk of truck shortages.

Picked mine up yesterday with the 5.0. Sticker was 51000 with a couple extras on it. Haggled with the sales manager and got it for 40k. After everything said and done. With a cheap trade walked out with a 32k loan. So far I’m happy with the truck. However I personally feel all full sized trucks are about 10-15k over priced.

Halogen headlights aren’t causing any accidents. #1 cause is cell phones and infotainment systems. #2 is drunk drivers #3 is speeding/reckless driving. Halogen lights aren’t even on the list.

Can anyone speak to whether or not picking up a used one of these around $35K with less than 30,000 miles on it is a good deal? Thinking about pulling the trigger on one here soon

Buying any car or truck right now isn’t too wise. Local ford dealers have no inventory and when they do get vehicles they are gouging MSRPs by as much as $20k over sticker. The STX is a good choice for anyone who doesn’t need unnecessary features. A 2wd truck makes a good tow vehicle. If you live in a snow state, 4wd ($3k) might be necessary, etc.

i got this truck in 2WD in 2018 for $32,000 Let that sink in before you pay an extra $16,000 for the same truck plus the extra $10,000 you'll probably pay over the life of your loan. So around 60k for a base model truck? 😂 Enjoy~ (i didn't even want to add the extra $10,000+ in depreciation you'll lose after you do pay it off)

Love the trim but hate the fact that FORD will not offer as an option a friggin power driver's seat - infantile _ thats why I'm going with the Chevy Silverado Custom trim- Great looking truck n nearly all come with a standard Front Power Driver's seat.

2019 I bought a Ram Bighorn Blackout package with sunroof for $44,000 after rebates. When I looked at the comparable F150 it was around $50,000. Ford bends you over.

I love the STX, but the cheapest one around here is $51K. Absolutely no way worth that much.

One of the selling points of trucks used to be higher prices but tons of money on the hood for discounts and below rate financing. Who is now pocketing the discount now that dealers are asking full sticker? With inflation at 8% a year will manufacturers still offer 3.9% financing for 72 months? Knowing our history is important to not get taken advantage of. No, the 2022 F-150 STX is not a deal - period.

No matter how desirable manufactures make new cars and trucks, if they are not affordable for the general public, they will fail. That is the position the Ford F-150 is in, in today’s market.

Great review! I'm on my 2nd STX having first a 2017 and now a 2020. I don't like leather seats( They dry and crack over time) nor do I want a sunroof because they all leak over time. I have no need for power seats, once I adjust it I'm good to go for as long as I own the truck. Both with the 2.7 twin turbo. I tow my 5000lb boat with ease! Both with the Super Cab and a 6.5' bed running boards and for the 2020 STX I went with the 36 gallon fuel tank. I bought a 2021 F150 with the 5.0. the 10 speed transmission is trash. To date, I have 4000 miles on it. (ordered in july 2020 took six months to arrive.) Kendall ford has already reset the trans once and I'm bringing it in tomorrow for loss of power problems as well as hard shifting. They told me there ar no parts to repair or replace the trans. They also quipped: "Yeah, those 10 speeds are a problem" They are selling these trucks knowing the 10 speed is a problem and they can't honor the warranty when it fails. Class action law suits are the only avenues for recourse. Don't buy one. Junk.

Is plastic steering wheels really becoming the new standard? Absolute trash these companies should be embarrassed that you have that have to virtually buy a luxury truck to get anything beside hard plastic.

Of course these trucks cost more. It’s 2022 people. More technology, better mpgs and better towing numbers compared to older trucks. Yet you guys still want to pay 1990 prices. 😂😂😂

Ford 150 truck are cheaply made. Your truck is falling apart but your engine continues to run.

This truck should be 30k or a little less....

Anything less than a V8 on a full size pickup is just wrong.
