I am itching to upgrade from my 2015 civic to this one. With post 2015 models Honda really messed up with Civic's exterior design. Now it has stripped off those confusing elements and look cleaner (a little too simplistic though). Honda should have found a way to include Battery pack without compromising boot space.. thats a little disappointing. But critics apart, there is no other car than a civic in my wildest dream, as in last 7 years and 80000 kms, I have never visited a workshop other than for regular services. Respect to Honda for making such solid machines!!

At long range it looks just like any other of its class, a hatchback. But getting up close and personal, it looks improved and classy, not dissimilar to American breeds. And as it still relies on petrol as its main get up and go, should be cheaper than others with a stronger motive to go green and use only EV modes.

The one criticism in the reviews I've read is the road noise, which I guess would be more noticable in the two higher spec models, Sport and Advance, which have 18 inch alloys. This is why I'm thinking of getting the base model (Elegance), which has smaller wheels, hopefully making for less road noise and a slightly better ride quality.
@SOMEONE-ME
@SOMEONE-ME Жыл бұрын
There is NO gearbox in this car at all. Electric motor drives wheels 90% of the time, then at 80-120km/h petrol engine drive wheels directly (no gears) as it's more efficient than going through electric motor. If you go faster then it switches back to electric motor. Petrol engine operates always at around 2K-3K rpm for efficiency generating power for electric motor and charging battery. If there is too much energy generated and battery is full, system turns petrol engine off and switches to pure EV mode. This can happen even at 100km/h. When battery gets discharged, petrol engine turns back on. All of it is done to maximise efficiency. It's probably more efficient system than Toyota's, specially on motorways. Whole system is based on fact that petrol engine operates in its most efficient region, which in normal petrol car is hardly every the case. Battery then stores energy surplus for low speed driving and for cases when peak power is needed (overtaking etc.). It sounds complex but at the end it's simple system, which should be on pair (maybe even better) with reliability compared to Toyota (no gearbox, petrol engine operates in optimal conditions and hardly ever is stressed). For those interested in more details here is great explanation: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bM2co72Ft7qaoXk.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNN9lZdmtbbWnZs.html

A pointless car. This engine has low emissions but this is primarily achieved in an urban environment. If you drive in town then either save money and buy a Jazz or buy the bigger CRV. If you drive high mileages on the open road then buy a Focus or 308, have more fun and save money but if you wish to spend thirty odd thousand then go to an Audi, BMW or Mercedes dealership. Can’t see what buyer requirements ever lead to someone buying this new Civic. It’s not even for Civic fans as the cheapest model is far more expensive than the range topping current model. This car is a solution looking for a problem!
