Wish Honda and others had direct shipping options like a few of the Chinese bikes I’ve purchased. Cuts down on costs for us at least.

Thanks for this video. I just bought a new monkey in England and am absolutely delighted with it. The quality is superb. I did 450 miles in two days and then had to wait ten days before the dealer could fit it in for its first service. The addition of a fifth gear is brilliant, as is the new oil filter. I will be keeping it main dealer serviced, but I can’t help doing oil and filter changes in between as I think 8000 mile intervals are just a bit too much on a 125cc machine. The grin factor on this little bike is off the scale 😄

Pretty cool to watch, was curious how the PDI tech life was and came across this video. Have a 550 now but want the Navi coming up. Interesting to see how much work is actually done from crate to showroom floor. Makes me curious now about my area and the $500-$700 assembly charge they tack on.

Nice video. In your opinion is the clutch friction point late like the 2019-2021 models? Or does it grab quicker? It is one of the only complaints on my 2019.
@theadventuresoflbz68132 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. They still grab at the end of the release just like the old ones,I actually did mod mine and put a 60% heavier duty clutch spring and the Bilt pressure plate that’s the only mods that I have done to mine I have noticed that I didn’t like how it grabbed all the way when the lever was all the way out and noticed some slippage in 4th when lugging , I come from a motocross background and off-road racing and pretty familiar with how the clutches will start to slip and usually just ends up being a clutch spring or pressure plate issue so I upgraded mine and now I feel like it actually has a better TopSpeed overall and it doesn’t slip if you leave it and fourth and you’re going up a real big hill it’s still pulls up hill and engine bogs instead of slipping the clutch and revving the engine up as it goes up the hill, Believe it or not that’s probably the best mod that anybody could do even if they like the clutch out was less clutch slip equals less buildup of unnecessary heat to the engine as you know the biggest downfall of these engines is when you overheat the oil and the clutch slipping with the stock springs and pressure plate build a lot of heat that stays in the engine

I wish Honda had made the fuel tank a bit longer and larger so that it would fill in the gap between the tank and the seat. I know there are riser kits... but a slightly larger tank would have also given it greater range, which would have been nice! Otherwise, it's a fun bike, and I think it looks great.

Seeing a lot of complaints about issues with the new grom five speed a lot of squealing coming from the engine which sounds like shafts spinning inside bearings or bearings themselves spinning in their seats seams to be in the upper gears/higher speeds. I am wondering why and also why I’m not seeing monkeys with the same complaint? Is this a defect or people who didn’t break them in properly and caused the issue. It’s a large investment for me for a toy and I don’t want to spend money on an issue. I can wait a year for a 2023 that’s not an issue for me if there is a problem to be worked out but to date I’ve only scene one cure which was a new transmission. After 37 years I’ve scene quite a few bikes that were improperly broken in by people who then complain about problems. Has your shop experienced a lot of these coming back in with that issue?
@theadventuresoflbz68132 жыл бұрын
Have not had a single one come in for issues 🤷🏼♂️ yeah im sure its improper brake and abuse if they have problem but we have not seen any come back for trans issues

charging $500 for set up fee on this seem excessive. dealers around me charge that and add $1000 dealer mark up on top of that. $200 destination fee is extra.
@johnbeaudette5832 жыл бұрын
Ya I saw 20-30 minutes of work top's. It's the same on the navi, alot of places charge the same setup fee for most bikes. It works out to 400-600 dollar's an hour they charge for the setup fee. The paperwork fee is like 250 an hour. Most people don't make a 1/10th of that. Supposedly In MO there is a dealer selling Navi's for $2,080 out the door. Anywhere locally $2400-2800. $2,753 was my hometown Honda. The difference in price is ridiculous. I can buy one in MO pay extra labor and shipping for $400 less than my hometown and delivered to my house.
