Thorough review. Thnx. You mentioned that gas model Kona's have wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, but the EV versions require a wired connection. Does that include gas powered trims with the 10.25 inch screen? Do they have wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, too?

Appreciate that Barry! The larger screen that you'll find in the higher trims of the Kona is going to be a wired connection only, no wireless for option from the factory unfortunately

Hi Steve! Great video, I have ordered the Kona highlander (Australia) I noticed in your video you mentioned the stop and go button.... (correct me I'm wrong) does this mean when you stop at a red light the engine cuts out?) ohhh I really hope so, I absolutely love this feature on my Mazda CX-5, the dealer told me only Mazda have this function. I did order the car back in January this year, and was told it's a 2021 version. I just got told the other day, that it's now a 22 model. I was just wondering do you know if this function be on all Kona's or just the USA/ Canada models. Thanks so much

Thanks so much Amanda! You're right about the engine start/stop - but it won't always turn off when you stop at a light. If you've got the AC on high, the car isn't warmed up etc. It's weird that the Mazda dealer claimed it's a Mazda exclusive feature as most car brands offer that standard, at least in North America anyways. There's nothing listed on the Canada/USA websites saying that it's a feature, however it is available on most models. The Australia site doesn't mention it either but the 2022 Kona AU owner's manual does mention that your vehicle MAY be equipped with the feature. Best to follow up with the dealer to double check!

You didn't mention the top of the line Kona N, which has a 280 horse-power engine and is a step above the N-line.

So I'm wondering... because Android auto can be glitchy at times. If you up to just pair Bluetooth... other than phone calls are you also able to receive pop-up text on the screen if you use Bluetooth only?

If you select the option when you pair your phone messages should be there as well! When you connect you can select just bluetooth audio or phone, just select them both

Hey, from what I could find the Intuitive is a base model for the Kona in France. Can't seem to find much on the Comfort trim level though.. any way for you to share a link in a new comment?

full build is in the description but it's the Canadian Preferred (USA SEL equivalent), in pulse red with the standard black interior

I’ve got the 2023 Kona Preferred (without the sun & leather pkg) ordered. New Brunswick. Waiting excitedly for it! Moving from a 2019 Tucson, as I was looking for something a bit smaller and better on gas mileage. Looking forward to any reviews of them when you can get them. :)

@@CarsWithSteve Do you guys have any word on when deliveries of the 2023 will arrive in ON and east? Surprising you were able to find rentals these days. I know home in Newfoundland, with it being Come Home 2022, there are no car rentals to be had until mid-late fall. At least when I go home next month, I'll have access to one of my parent's vehicles. :D

@@jlynnstapleton9674 The 2022 Kona hit stores late 2021 so I'm assuming 2023 will probably be the same timeframe.. sometime late this year. Ended up reserving a car a month and a half before the trip from a local rental company in Ontario! I've read a ton of stories of there be no rentals available on the east cost with people turning to renting uHaul trucks to get around. Craziness!
